- This Video/Slideshow is produced from original photographs not seen before. A must for those who lived or worked there at that time if they want to reminisce. I know its not so long ago but I would suspect there have been many changes. If interest is generated I will follow on with scenes from the 70's..

I left Birmingham to live in Cornwall back in 1974 and I’ve often had people say would you go back and the honest answer is that I couldn’t even if I wanted to as the one I knew has been gone a long,long time ago.
Google a song called "I Can't Find Brummagem".
There are some bits that haven't changed in a very long time, the city centre is really different though.
In reality in amongst the sentiment it was a shitehole then and is much much worse now. So much worse so that you wouldnt want to go back. The only thing that made it seem better then were the people who were proper human beings. Kind, caring and giving even when they had nothing themselves
Seen 70/80/90/2000 after 2000 the world got Fcked seen some amazing old times. Now it’s just surviving.

I don't know which Carnival this is. I can tell you that the Dancers photo was taken on 2 Nov 57. The other Carnival Scenes were taken on 4 Mar 67. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
Makes me sad , but glad that I knew that Brum , It all went wrong from there , but so have all the big cities , for all the modern day glam , behind the facade they have become 3rd world shite holes
