@flyerholland Our 'friend' Koos Spee has openly admitted it's a cash-in location, it has nothing to do with safety. *sigh*. I really don't see the problem with the sound, I've been living my whle life very close to the N259 and I never had problems with the road (noise etc.). Back when the A4 around Halsteren wasn't opened and the speedlimit was 70. No problem at all. I kinda miss the sound actually.

I know. But this is top quality work (3year old road with regular maintenance), just like most Dutch highways. But there are 130 km/h sections with 2x2 lanes and a huge amount of traffic. In those cases it's very dangerous, you can get situations as the one you can see in the youtubelink in the message to DrivingandDashcam:
And I agree with your other comment. 130! This is the perfect road! A stretch further south is actually 100 or 130 (depending on the amount of traffic).

Google's map haven't update for Calgary yet, but last year ago I went there. It was on Deerfoot trail OR SE Glenmore trail, I can't remember. You can see /watch?v=ouf1XWjHryY, jump to 7:03 and look at right. That's 7 lanes I was talking about.
@DrivingandDashcam That's 3+4 lanes, this is worse, this is 5+5 lanes, and with a median so wide, you can open a Mc Donalds there.... You wont recognize this road. GMaps still has the old situation, enter this in Google Maps

And check Streetview. This was 120 km/h, and this road which is much wider (both directions in the old situation is actually a bit smaller than 1 direction now!) has 100 km/h........ *sigh*
NOTE: the '90' you see on streetview is because of road works
I know, but it counts how the road is good for a speed, not the lane.
@SnoVVdog Watch out, this year there will be section control here (Maarssen - Breukelen and Vinkeveen - Abcoude (Don't pin me down on those locations, I'm not 100% sure about the exact locations!)) Good luck speeding without getting a ticket then...

Oh dat is dan maar goed dat ik dat nu weet haha. Ik ben er niet heel vaak te vinden maar ik rijd er toch 120. Zoek maar is op ''smog borden A58'' dan zie je ook meteen waar het ook echt om gaat: geld binnen halen

Only 100 km/h on 5 lanes? Try Calgary, Alberta (Canada). 7 lanes straight, limit is 100 km/h, of course, people don't follow the speed limit. My hometown only have 2 lanes, and the limit is 90 km/h too. My top speed on my 1991 Toyota Camry is 180 km/h and could go more but I think it's enough lol.
@DrivingandDashcam You know what's worst about this 100 km/h speed limit: before this road was widened it was 120 km/h on 3 packed lanes: now you've got 5 lanes & space and they LOWER the speedlimit. That should be the other way around. I mean, there's a full packed highway near me (2x2 lanes) with a speed limit of 130 km/h (regular traffic jams: check /watch?v=GAyP5-UMEsg ), and this 2x5 highway is 100 km/h. FUCK LOGIC.
Where is that 7-lane highway in Calgary btw? I can't find it on GMaps...

Heel raar dat ik niet kan reageren op de reacties zelf :S
maar de borden staan er nog wel, maar ik heb ze de laatste tijd niet meer aan zien staan. Gelukkig maar :)
Niet naar 100 km/h, tis al 100 km/h. Het was een afspraak met de gemeenten in de omgeving dat de max-snelheid na de oplevering 100 km/h zou zijn (als compromis). Echter, de weg ligt er nu al een tijdje, dus dat vind ik geen goede reden meer. Het was afgesproken dat het bij de opening 100 km/h zou zijn, meer niet. Het CDA heeft ervoor gezorgd dat je daar nog 100 rijdt. Schultz mocht geen geluidsscherm plaatsen twv een paar miljoen terwijl het geld er was.
Die borden heb ik nog nooit gezien :o

Ik vind het belachelijk dat zo'n weg naar de 100 km/u moet! Je kan er een vliegtuig op laten landen! Er is genoeg ruimte om er 130 van te maken, maar dat zal wel weer niet mogen van het milieu.
Net als hier op de A58 (ter hoogte van goirle/tilburg) staan 'smog' borden dan mag je maar 80 en het is een felblauwe lucht en niemand op de weg. Belachelijk!
I can drive 225 km/h there, perfect road for maxing out my car, especially at night.
Of course the NIMBY whingers and eco morons caused the speed limit to be 100km/h, not that it matters much. Simply keep your eyes on the side for highway robbers (with multinova or gatsometers), check flitsservice.nl, and cruise at 140 kph ( muldergrens).
But why follow a boring Renault?
