I hated doing this… but man, I just uninstalled MK1. It hurt to do this because I’m a very huge MK fanboy, but this game just isn’t it for me man. I keep trying and trying to give it chances, and yet it still disappoints me bad. Even after trying all the DLC characters so far… nothing just feels good or hits the same with them individually because THANKS to the dam Kameo system for making the main character feel only 50% or below which makes them feel weak af with NOT being able to have many moves to have for them which sucks. Maybe it was a good thing after all that my boy Kabal isn’t in this game either, because they probably would have made him a disappointment too 💀

I'm still pissed about them gender swapping Johnny after I had already paid for HIM, but now Harumi is just a gender swapped Scorpion wearing the klassic skin that they refuse to give us for the REAL Scorpion. I've also fought against female versions of Reptile and Ermac while they were wearing the klassic ninja skins. Enough is enough already! If I see 1 more I am DONE with this franchise forever! They gender swap a character after they advertised the klassic character Johnny Cage, and took our money for HIM! They're just using the multiverse stuff as an excuse. I don't know how much more proof you need. It's pretty obvious what they're doing. I’ve been thinking of this clip too. Before release I was expecting Kronika or Jerrod, post release I figured he was referring to Geras (first introduced in MK11, making him the “newest”). Janet Cage makes the most sense now, but here’s hoping we get some genuinely new characters in MK2!

I really hope they reduce the number of guest characters in Kombat pack 2, I would rather have none but I know that's not going to happen. I think also we need more Female characters as they are quite outnumbered. Would have loved to see a return for Skarlet but we know that isn't happening. Would love to see Janet Cage as a main character somewhere down the line, either later in this game or the next one.

Knowing Boon, I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't talking about fighters. The question said characters new to franchise not characters new to franchise that you can play as. I think he was thinking a moment to decide if he could count characters that only appear briefly in the story. I forget her name now but I'm pretty sure the girl that dumps Johnny at the beginning of his chapter is new fir example.
Janet isn’t a “new character” though.. she’s just one of the alt versions at the Armageddon point in the story…any of those other combinations would fit that description. I think Harumi would fall into the same category if she’s just a female Scorpion. I heard leaks of KP2 (of course we don’t know if they’re true), but I think it might be pink ninja Phloyd. If so, I hope the character is dope. If not, I hope it’s someone other than Janet and Harumi. And hopefully a main roster character involved in the story expansion. A new character kameo would be tragic

Maybe Boon is hinting at a new character because i remember people were asking if there was going to be a new ninja in this game and he hinted it would possibly be a pink ninja named Floyd (because one of his favorite bands is Pink Floyd). I wonder if maybe Floyd just isnt ready yet and may appear either as a cameo or may have a role in the aftermath storyline after the mk1 story concludes.

I think Ed Boon would be talking about the DLC, and it ended up being a Kameo character that came out in a DLC pack. Janet Cage, and all the Kameo characters are creative ways to mix up he throws and X-Ray attacks. But I still hate that they locked Fatalities behind a pay wall, and you paid $80 for a license to play only a PARTIAL move set.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was Cole Young. New movie coming out and all....
