I'm never gonna get over the fact that this whole thing with its genius lyrics and brilliant rhythms was written by a SINGLE person. Lin is just an illegal amount of concentrated talent
I’m honestly surprised Guns and Ships and Yorktown didn’t elicit a big enough reaction to be included haha
Same with WAIT FOR IT!!!
Every scene Diggs is in is gold. All of them!
Room Where it Happens, Say No To This
Sadly, Peggy died the same year as Philip. So Eliza lost her Sister and her Son, and then her husband(although I think it was a few years later).
Not to mention her father (and I think her mother) as well...
And her daughter. After Phillip died Elizas daughter- Angelica Hamilton- was so upset about his death she apparently went insane
@@swordofgallifrey6330 the website I went on phrased it as insane. I didn’t mean any offence from it at all. Sorry if I offended u
Alex died around 3 years after his son. Ntm according to history, their eldest daughter Angelica lost her mind because of her brothers death.
fun fact: the guy who plays the king also voiced kristoff in frozen
and Washington plays Moana's dad's singing voice (Christopher Jackson)
This is the filmed version of the biggest Broadway hit musical. Probably the biggest Broadway hit of all time.
It was actually filmed in 3 takes. Wide angles were filmed during a performance with an audience and close ups were filmed without an audience.
Its one of the greatest works of art ever made in my opinion, great reaction!
P.s. "Luckily" Eliza and Alexander actually had 9 children together, so she wasn't left completely alone after Alexander and Philip had passed. Its still tragic though.
Her eldest daughter, Angela Hamilton, lost her mind after philips death. She forever thought she was a child, (she was about 17 when he died). And would ask about her brother coming home from school.
'Upon receipt of the news of her brother’s death in the Eacker duel, she suffered so great a shock that her mind became permanently impaired, and although taken care of by her devoted mother for a long time there was no amelioration in her condition, and she was finally placed under the care of Dr. MacDonald of Flushing, and remained in his charge until her death at the age of seventy-three.' - Her nephew, a doctor, who was writing about his aunt Angelica Hamilton
He keeps saying it’s hard to talk and the girl has barely said a word😂😂 but I’m glad that they both enjoyed it!
This is the girl's face throughout the entire thing: 😐(Maybe she just woke up from her nap)
The man on the 10 dollar bill, Alexander Hamilton.
Since you mentioned the walk, the crown and costume for the King were very heavy. Jonathan came up with that walk to help balance the crown while he made his entrance. Beyonce made him teach her the walk backstage when she went to see Hamilton on Broadway. He was in the show for a total of, I believe, 10 minutes and was nominated for a Tony. Also, the spitting is just something that happens when he sings it just coincidentally worked because the King is supposed to be "mad".
The way this is "sung-through" is a lot like an opera, which also have minimal to zero spoken dialogue, other musicals written in this style include Les Miserables, Jekyll & Hyde, Miss Saigon, Falsettos, The Last 5 Years and Starlight Express.
i was shook that y'all skipped over so much of act 2 lol. Glad that you enjoyed the show tho! Especially going into it knowing nothing, it just shows how amazing this show is. it's so impressive.
"All in one take": They actually filmed two separate performances and spent some time on a Monday, when Hamilton normally goes dark, shooting some pickups
No Wait for It or Room Where It Happens?

Fun fact, it's not filmed in one take! They filmed across several live shows, with additional close up material filmed without the audience. They did a good job of cutting it all together! If you ever get the chance I recommend seeing it live. You don't get the close up facial expressions but you do get a view of all the stuff going on across the stage the whole time. It's staged and choreographed really well and the choice to use close ups and focus on the main characters disguises a lot of the work the chorus put in in the background.
"He shot early, go kill him"
fun fact: eacker died of tuberculosis just about a few months after the duel. he didn't actually shoot at seven, they both waited until ten and philip's arm moved in a way that made it look like he was going to shoot. eacker shot because he thought he was going to die. it is said that he regretted that duel more than anything in his life. his already existing alcohol problem only got worse and worse after he shot philip, which i wouldnt doubt. imagine being just a young lawyer guy from new york, and then suddenly theres a random kid yelling at you in the middle of a play that youre watching, and then he suddenly challenges you to a duel, which could lead to your death. he had a reason to be scared, he had a reason to shoot. that reason was not a good reason, but its enough for me to feel bad for him-
also, his torment only continued after the duel, since he had to see alexander hamilton at work everyday, knowing damn well that this is the man whos son he had killed.
his suffering didnt even end when he died, as his fiancee, Harriet Livingston, married another man and had kids with him after eacker's death.
I did not know this thank you
yeah but one important thing, during the duel they were around one minute without doing anything, suddenly after that minute eacker randomly shoted philip, a little but important detail
@@slushy333 yeah, that was because philip's arm moved in a way that made it look like he was going to shoot.
@@freyexists.3657 i think slushy meant shouted
@@athen12 ohhh
bro i’m a pro at understanding fast talking and even i was shocked at how fast he said that intro😂 lowkey impressed tho haha
Lmao
I was right there with her, when "Satisfied" came on.. this show has so many emotional numbers that are executed so well by those talented players. "Unimaginable" is also sooo heart-wrenching. This musical is important for so many reasons. 💗 Really glad you guys enjoyed the story and its telling. Was fun to watch you go in without any idea of what was coming 😂😋
Technically it's not a Disney movie/production, it's an archival recording of the stage performance (which is done a lot in broadway shows apparently where the theatrical performances are recorded for storage purposes) and Disney here plays the role of the distributor, it's just the distribution not the production
PS. It's not the streaming platform that made it popular, this is the most successful Broadway show with 11 Tony awards and sold out shows every day
Im surprised you didnt show Reynold Phamplet though
I- why does he keep calling it a play lmao it’s a musical
OMG I love Hamilton!! it's my favorite musical, I know all the songs!!❤️❤️
Good reaction! Just one thing: don't cut the most exiting parts and important parts like the affair songs etc... otherwise great reaction!
Form satisfied to Non Stop? Wow that’s a long gap
Lol it's not really a disney musical, it's a Broadway show that they got the rights to put on there streaming service.
Even after a few viewings, you’re going to keep finding something new.
Skipping Hamilton's affair and the Reynolds pamphlet is a crime.
It not. Disney movie it a play that was filmed over 3 days in front live audience. So it more a play that was filmed then a movie.
The filmed version of this musical aired on Disney plus. Of course with this pandemic there's no airing this in movie theaters.
My sister Morgan loves Hamilton but this is a first time
You guys are so underrated 😢
:)
i know of this 1st from impractical jokers apparently, when murr was single and flirting on the show they tried to make him say he had tickets to hamilton which was the most expensive play on broadway at the time he got married since the pandemic
While I'm sure that someone else has mentioned this, I'm actually shocked that you had never even heard of 'Hamilton' before watching this. It was all anyone could talk about on social media when it first hit Broadway (and before, since it started off-Broadway). One of the biggest cultural phenomenons of recent memory, deservedly so. This movie wasn't supposed to come out until next year but they decide to release it early due to the pandemic. Glad you dug it though. There's so much genius on display in this it's insane.
I’m pretty lowkey when it comes to social media I normally stay off it
You should watch the broadway version of newsies
from what i heard its a historical musical & i had heard one of the songs before involving the damn fool that shot him
Thanks for this reaction! 🙏🥰
I loved how speechless you both were and how much you both focused and payed attention! A lot of people miss so much when they talk through parts they don't realize are significant 😂
Not sure if you've seen it, but Encanto would be a great reaction to see and is super popular, so it might give your channel a boost! 💕
Keep up the great content! 🥰
Seen it off cam!
@@ItsAPrimatee sweet! It's amazing, right? 😍🥰
