Colab of two of my most favorite UA-cam guys. Happy to see Roman shooting on someone else's desk, and kicking with his passion and knowledge for watches. A video for true watch lovers.
Roman makes a great point re: contemporary watch collectors no longer caring about all that goes into actually making these pieces they covet; all they care about is return and speculation, bling-factor, and having the most hyped pieces around. Very few have a deep and true understand for horology anymore, sadly. Case in point (and I hate to say it): Michael. Guy just cares about the bling-factor, plus I'm sure favourable returns to an extent, though most of the tacky/gaudy pieces he buys don't have the best value retention- I appreciate that he at least buys simply what he likes and not just fuelled by market trajectories and other such bs that most "collectors" today are.

Cool to watch the same intro in Roman's video, but from a different angle. Roman's channel has the interview and this channel has the actual showing of the watches. Great job collaborating, guys!
well after all the comments people made on how michael negotiated with the Astronomiacalalala watch thing. i doubt they put any more negotiation sections online, which is a shame.
When they say the tourbillon compensates for the effects of gravity what they mean is that the hairspring in old pocket watches used to get pulled down in the same position causing inaccuracies in the timing of the flywheel. By rotating the spring you no longer have a single section of the hair spring sitting in one position and it distributes the wear evenly on the spring. Since wristwatches are not stationary like pocket watches it’s kind of useless in a wrist watch but it is meant to show off because it’s difficult to make and it looks cool.
