Sometimes I wonder why the musicians (electric guitar, bass, drums) aren't singing. Surely at this level, they could sing without negatively impacting their playing??
I play bass and sing on the worship team at my church. It’s definitely nice to be able to focus on one or the other. Or, sometimes, there are musicians who can play well but can’t sing well. And being able to play drums and sing at the same time is a skill that few drummers possess. Drums literally require you to use both hands and both feet at once. You’re potentially doing multiple rhythms at once. Adding singing into that mix takes a lot of skill.
