I remember there was also gonna be a fake Disneyland here in the Philippines around the same year, but the guy got scammed and betrayed by his fellow businessmen who were working on the project as well as the construction team, so he went bankrupt and cancelled the amusement park. I saw a video like in 2019 or something like that, of a guy exploring abandoned places, where he travelled to the Philippines just to check it out. A lot of them were unfinished buildings that were left to rot for the years to come. It's sad to see all the progress go to waste. It really looked very promising :(
A bit more elaboration on Tokyo Disneyland: Disney really didn't want to build Tokyo Disneyland because of what happened with Nara Dreamland and because they were building EPCOT at the time, but OLC (company that owns Tokyo Disneyland) was really desperate to build it. Disney gave a bunch of ridiculously high standards to try turning OLC away from the deal, but they surprisingly agreed to the conditions. So Tokyo Disney Resort (considered right now to be one of the best theme parks ever built because of the really high standards) exists right now under the complete ownership and management of the OLC with barely any involvement with the Walt Disney company except for licensing agreements for the IP's. I'm still really sad Nara Dreamland got really low attendance after TDL's opening. It seemed better than other amusement parks in Japan that are still running to this day.
