It's finally here! We've been working hard to build the cabin and bring you this episode. Obviously, there's a lot left to do on the cabin. Big thanks to all our supporters on Patreon that help bring this to you without mid roll ads as well as for the financial support for building the cabin. You all are the best!
I was expecting some sort of final episode or two for this series, but a season 2 and actual cabin build? You deserve some kind of award for all this effort and amazing presentation!
Dude, you put a bunch of work into this video and showing all the progress on the various shelters you’ve established. You made it easy to imagine it being late 1700’s. Well done man.
Another great video in the series of frontier life. A lot of hard work went into the making of this one and I for one appreciate all your efforts on bringing history to life in such a visual way.
Excellent video. Watching the 1790's Survival Series videos are always the best part of my day. I'm a truck driver and depend on UA-cam for entertainment and knowledge during my off duty time. This was time well spent. Thanks for all your hard work and efforts. God bless you and your family.
Been waiting anxiously for the return of the series. A wonderful piece of historical archaeology that gives us modern folk a look back two centuries in time for a glimpse of the hardships our ancestors had to endure. What they were able to do with resources and tools that seem crude by modern standards is nothing short of amazing. Seeing our history brought to life in this way gives us a renewed appreciation for the men and women who created the United States of America. With all the modern efforts to, shall we say, "rewrite" history to fit some political narrative, projects like this are all the more important in preserving true history. Thank you for all your work in creating this series and we look forward to the next installments!
Thanks for another wonderful episode, James. It would be great to see these videos shown in schools as part of their history curriculum. They really bring history to life and they give us an appreciation of the hardships and challenges of early settlers. Your storytelling and production work is far too good to be limited to UA-cam!
Very nice James . The thought of a person building that by themself and working to make money at the same time is daunting . More so when you’re trying to beat the next winter. Thanks for sharing a glimpse of our past. Have a blessed day
Thank the Lord. You finally came out with another episode. I could watch this for a long long time. Really love this series and 1800th century survival I recommend this channel all the time
Great episode! Thanks for sharing your progress and keeping it real. Love the addition of "Providence" and giving thanks for the meal of squirrel. Looking forward to the addition of the shakes, as I'm sure you are as well.
James, what can I say? This is simply outstanding! I’ve been following since the beginning and wondered whether I’d seen the last of the 1790s Series. It has been quite awhile. And now, I see why! This is amazing on two levels. Building a cabin, in itself, is a stellar feat. But to shoot a film, write a script, edit the video, insert a soundtrack, and produce this piece at the same time is above and beyond what anyone else is doing. Oh... and I did notice the occasional bushcraft video popping up now and then, as well. Has anyone ever accused you of being a workaholic? My guess is yes. Another thing I’ve noticed is the increasing quality of your production. Better sound, higher resolution, great musical score, every episode improves. I hope you know how much we all look forward, increasingly, to your next effort. We cannot wait for the next installment! Keep it up, brother!
I don't know how I miss the notifications, but I'm sure glad I saw this today! It's so well done, and I feel like I'm right there in the 1790's! Thanks so much!
Oh James, man, this was So Good to watch, THANK YOU for all you are and do, in all your vid's for us viewers. You've already taught me a lot and I'm bingewatching about half way through! Please keep on going just like this! Lots of love from us in Holland (Netherlands)
I absolutely loved this. Being fortunate enough to see this in person, it has only enhanced my sheer enjoyment of this series. You have my respect sir. This will be a project you can look back on for years to come. I'm sure the family is loving it as well.
Jim, your heart is in the right place. My Cub Scout thru Boy Scouts days were in the 1960's, and men like you set the example I live by now that I'm over 70 years young. Yes, I still have my canteen and canvas case fot it, my old Everready flashlight too Even my Bob cat pin from my first day in cubscouts! A prized possession indeed, but most of all I have come to live PREPAIRED! AMEN?
James THIS IS EPIC!!!!! It ssssoooo very awesome to see another step forward in this series, I was absolutely astonished when I saw this episode ready for viewing!!!! I ssssoooo can't wait to see what happens next my friend!!!!! Just absolutely amazing!!
I’ve been waiting patiently for another 1790 vid and brother you done an amazing job . The effort you and your friends put into this series is just astounding thank you James for all the hard work it’s greatly appreciated .
I just found this.. I think I'm going to enjoy watching the series. If we are ever facing a situation of survival (America is scary right now with conservatives being called terrorists by the government) but I can already see some things we should have in our prepper supplies. Knee pads, heavy duty gloves, Carpenter tools after first 10 min. Love the positive attitude in clip that Americans have and what will get us through.
Yes but they're going to make it illegal for us to live off the grid. They're going to do away with paper money and make it all electronic. You won't be able to buy or sell unless you take the mark. And they've already showed us what they're going to do all you have to do is look at China. They will have cameras everywhere watching and listening to everything people say and do. And that's how Communism works. They will probably line up anyone who has disagreed with them and shoot them out right like they have in every other country communism has taken over in. What liberals don't understand is they're going to be the first ones shot. Once they take power they don't need or want useful idiots. They don't contribute to society. And they cause too much trouble. People with actual job skills they will send to re-education camps and at least give them a chance to be obedient slaves to the state.
This is awesome, was concerned he had gotten lost. Story time is often the most underrated and yet most effective way of teaching. Fertile Ohio soil? I've traveled this beautiful country, and nowhere have I found an area of the country with such beautiful soil and bountiful rainfall. It's no wonder why those who came to the Ohio territory prospered.
What a treat! Many many thanks for your effort, it's highly appreciated! As a sidenote: squirrels must be mighty plenty there since you're so happily rounded in all the proper areas despite all this hard labor :D

Thanks so much for watching. Actually, the early cabins were very small. There is a limit to the size logs that one man can cut and haul by himself without the help of other people or animals.
James, I'm well pleased to see you back on the frontier in season two. I have been worried that you were taken ill or worst captured by the local Indian tribe and disposed of. Push on my friend, you have us all on the edge of our seats looking forward to your next episodes...Braxton.
