the real problem with listening to kenny is, you see and understand everything with a dual perspective ...like everything seems both ..right and wrong at the same time...and his damn freaking soothing voice makes you listen more of it..i like it
Aggred
Kenny has seamlessly transitioned from ‘Cool Guy 101’ to ‘Thirty and comfy’-which honestly only makes him cooler. He and nigahiga have the same kind of charm about them, they seem like men who are very in tune with themselves, managed to stay relevant to their audience over years, and keep pivoting to embrace things that best suit their personality. Cool guys, really.
Exactly
Omg I'm so happy about the fact that there are people who still remember Ryan Higa🥺😭
Yes I always felt they were similar too lol
@@sumitrakrishnajagarapu3887 ikr hearing ryan higa's name after so long feels so good. Nostalgia kicks in
"Pushing yourself to do better Is very irritating." HAHAHAHAHA. The idea of "pushing yourself" is so deep-rooted, that I feel guilty about listening to music instead of an audiobook. I have lost the ability to take it easy once in a while.
You can do a whole bit about this lol.
You perhaps haven't grasped the idea of 'pushing yourself' properly. It's abt being highly productive only during ur working hours AND having a reasonable guiltfree 'downtime'.
@@An_urag9 oh now I have to pressure myself to have a guilt free downtime too. Splendid
@@RickSanchez-um4ku Not necessarily by pressure, you will happily realise it someday. Just keep experimenting with it everyday and observe your productivity

Shit mam this audiobook and music example is so so relatable 😵😂
I can't believe Kenny could feel insecure about his feminine qualities. His clean shave looks, his soft voice and him being sensitive aw man really? I just love all that about him.
We need more people like you bhavya, open minded😂🙌🏽🍻

I am a graphic designer/illustrator and I work at an ad agency and I honestly love going to work and having a routine designated job hours. I just feel I would really do too much timepass if were a full time freelancer. So, It depends on person to person like you guys mentioned.
Agree 100% considering I'm a creative person and my brain is chaos as is. The routine of a 9-5(6) works to bring some structure to my life, freeing out time for study, exercise, and passion projects.
Hey can I ask u a question,,I am kind of learning ui/ux design stuff,,should I get a degree on it bcz I m already doing ba 1st year only but how much it's imp to have a degree things should I move forward to it,,if u suggest and share your experience it would help me a lot !! Thnks have a nice day !!!
@@vidhisharma6613 hey vidhi, I did my college long back and design was still a new stream of subject. Infact UI/UX was introduced in our college while we were in 2nd year. Even though all kinds of info is out there on the internet to learn UI/UX but, I feel getting a degree would help you get a better job that is if you're planning to apply for any international jobs and all.
When Rahul tells how amazing it's to get up whenever he wants, the point that he'd gone through an uninteresting and lame phase of life has to be noted. Due to this fact, he's able to appreciate his time and freedom, and is able to make appropriate use of it. Freedom comes from commitment. We can feel pleasure, only when we know what is pain and vice versa. A simple example is, if you had chocolate before having coffee, your coffee would taste way more bitter. Only when there're two sides, there is life. So, I think it's better to appreciate what we are going through right now. Let's say we are in a very tough situation, it's like drinking a bitter coffee. Later when you're given a chocolate, you'll be able to appreciate it more.
Amazing episode by Kenny and Rahul. Cheers :)

he should have let rahul pitch in with his views before answering himself first .we missed out on rahul's perspective and delved more into kenny's way of looking at things.
rahul became passive eventually with this approach.

Hi 👋 Software Engineer here. Never thought about how I looked at life until Kenny said 'Everything is just something that has not been solved yet.' Yes, omg that is exactly how my mind works. I always look for solutions in every obstacle I face. Never made any issue so huge that I can't get through it. I have always thought that everything can be solved with patience and correct logic✌ You're absolutely right Kenny, thats how coders think.
the whole thing Rahul said about being in a place in the past, like science in school and not enjoying it at that time and then regretting it in future clicked so well with me too... i have done engineering and now that I look back, I regret not doing it properly and not enjoying it, as now that I read more about the stuff that I have read in past in school and college, I thoroughly enjoy it.
anyways I love these podcasts of yours, Kenny... hope you post more often.
I think it has more to do with the education system being focused on marks than the joy of learning

I think the long recording of Kenny talking and not giving advice to others is such a smart way of helping out people. Giving advice is oh so easy because you don’t empathise. But when you talk about you, that’s when the real solutions come through. Kudos Kenny ❤️✌️
PS: I genuinely think you both are good looking af lol
Why do I always feel that you guys are my inner voice or very close friends? Everyone should watch simple ken specially the teenagers from school and colleges. It enhance and broaden your perspective, values, meaning and add more experience. Your conversations are really peaceful 🙏🏻.

#SimpleKen Hey kenny. I'm from Bangalore. Your "podcast" sorry "Long recording of you talking" is amazing. My girlfriend always tells me that yours and mine English accent is so much similar. I guess it's because of common city Bangalore.
Most of your #Simpleken episodes have a well known person in collab. Would it be exciting if you sometime choose some random person from your subs for a collab? and make a good content. It will be so much exciting for everyone.
I mean I'm not giving you a hint to choose me for the video😁. But I would love to❤. We can work for that anywhere in Bangalore. Your team can also make a research on me to check if that's really a good idea. I dont know how but I'm pretty sure that I will meet you on a chai someday. Keep this smile up always. See you soon dude 😊

Hey Kenny ,I'm a intermediate guitar player and I recently stared working on my orignal music,I watched ur tv series die trying and enjoyed it.my question is u wanted to be a musician and u r pretty good one no doubt but when u decided to shift to doing comedy and do u have any regret for not doing music now or u r planning on creating any music,I love making music but with all the expectations in my head it's really hard to be the version of myself, how u became ok with shifting ur profession.
Love ur long recording of talking, never missed an episode.
I am from a "Western" country and I turned to UA-cam to find comedy which related more to my background and upbringing. I came across both of you by chance and I can honestly say that you have brightened my days with your jokes. I will not speak for other women, but I can say that I think it is a very attractive quality when men are able to be feminine and express it. Kenny the stand-up where you borrowed your friend's purse and dissected it, is one of my ALL TIME favourites. It was so amazing to see you so open and confident about your sexuality. That stand-up episode could've gone so bad but you pulled it off so well and made fun of everyone. Rahul, your humor is so witty and intelligent. Your Pakistan and India clip was very funny and I enjoyed how you engaged the audience. I agree that you are excellent at crowd work and should do more. You both are so terrific and I am very happy to see you able to support each other and grow. I hope the same for female comics everywhere too. Kudos to you both and wishing you well.
i am typing this comment here because i am off instagram. but i just wanted to say, i feel like i grow as a person after every episode i listen.
I'm so happy😂😂

Thank you Ken and Rahul..Didn't know this was the motivation I needed!
This Podcast tbh really gave me a good perspective of what decisions I need to take in my career. In this line by Rahul, maths and science is fun and interesting when u don't have pressure to score, just to understand. these words really hit me hard. Thanks a lot for this podcast, Kenny.
just listening to both of your perspectives on random things have naturally opened up my mind in different ways, you have an amazing thing going on here with these podcasts!
my two fave comedians in the same frame. i'm ok
Please get tanmay bhat 😭
Dear Kenny , please ask Rahul to upload more audience work/crowd work videos on youtube. Thanks, You will get lots of punyam 🔥
I have been living in US for a decade and follow many Indian and Western comedians. But I would choose a good Indian Comedian over a western one because the content is often so refreshing and nostalgia-inducing. I feel Indian comics have a wide variety of things to talk about, there is just so much to observe, and they do it well.
Big fan of both of your work, Kenny and Rahul, and many other Indian comedians.
When I was small I used to watch Shaktiman every Sunday. When the title track used to play I used to be so excited. There are times you are happy and then there are times you are so happy you jump with joy.
I felt the same today when I saw this episode came out and I was hearing the title track. Somehow this long recording of you talking has connected with me on a very deep level. Thank you Ken!
I totally feel what Rahul said.. I was so focused on what I wanted to do in life as a career that I only kept my vision there and the time I spent thinking back then what I would do in the future, kind of made me oblivious to actually enjoying that time. And I am still not where I wanted to be. Life happened and now when I look back I feel what was the point of missing out on such major parts being only focused on the future when I am still not where I want to be.
I learnt that it may not be the perfect job or profession that you're in right now. But it is still important to do that honestly because everything teaches something along the way.
That line “ I became less funny when I became professional comedian “ 😂
I come, listen to the intro and I go back.👍
Kenny, you are so soft spoken. Both of you look cute in this episode. Also people who are able to do what they like are truly blessed. It takes a lot of courage, support and effort to switch to a different field.

The biggest revelation for me in this episode was to realise that Rahul doesn't have a South Indian accent for real!
Hey Kenny and Rahul,
The 2nd question discussed here, about whether to pursue studies n all if we want to choose otherwise, I loved the point of view you guys gave and I agree and have suggested likewise to almost all the people who have ever asked me so. So, just wanted to say thank you both!

Hey Kenny. I just adoreee the long recording of you talking. Because of this wonderful virus, students like myself are still stuck at home and in order to 'help us', our just as wonderful teachers gives us some extra buttloads of notes and assignments. I was listening to songs on Spotify and I saw your podcast and man, u literally saved me from going completely out of it. I listened to all the episodes in like 2-3 days and yet I still haven't finished my notes. Thank you for doing this. Please don't stop. Love you Kenny
Felt like I was in the room listening to two of my friends talking about life.
Hey Kenny!
I am in class 11th and I am commerce student . I am really confused about what should I pursue in college I don't think i have yet found out what I am passionate about or sometimes I think I am not passionate about anything . What is your advice to someone who is not sure about what to do after finishing school?
Hi Suhani.. I know you asked this question to Kenny but since I have also thought about it for myself a bit here goes what I think on this.. I am a big follower of Charlie Munger.. In case you don’t know him, he is a polymath and lifelong friend and business partner of Warren Buffet, if possible google about him.. He always says to “Invert” a problem.. So if we invert your question I think instead of trying to find something you are passionate about just focus on avoiding paths that you are absolutely not passionate about and choose any 1 of the paths that are left.. this will give you a better outcome in the long run in my opinion.. Hope this helps.. Best of luck!

"pushing yourself to do better is veryyy irritating" DAMN YES
This probably isn't relevant but in one of the earlier episodes I was listening to the other day, Kenny jokingly said there wasn't a hindi version of Jingle Bells, (read this in the original jingle bells tune)
JINGLE BELLWA JINGLE BELLWA JINGLE BELLWA BAJELA

GHAR GHAR JAYELA, TOFE BATELA
AUR BACHHE CHILLAYE KI DEKHO SANTA AYELA,, (HAYY)

i have to say this, cannot stop myself. i read a quote where they said how females are the "chosen ones" by God as we can be impregnated. well, I believe God cannot be a female or one that supports them because of how much discrimination Hez done. Every month 5 days bleeding pain to only us, it could be 1 day or once in 6 months but no every month 5 days pain, after it stops, menopause complications which men don't get...they remain fertile horses forever with atleast no bodily pains or biological suffering even if impotent. Then childbirth ( normal deliveries I can say it's the single most painful thing ever) that too not just on the day of delivery, through out 9 months bodily aches indigestion spine under constant pressure peeing problems and after all this, debilitating labour pains for hours, then even worse child birth pushing pains. then after all this enduring we are given our newborns straighaway to care for no gap of recovery as God planned it that way for us. no sleep, feeding pains as starting feeding and engorgement or mastitis is so painful. and yet, we are physically made weaker than men. we have to train to be stronger but men are built naturally stronger than women by God. so, id say its injustice. oh, and also, women can have orgasm of only a few seconds, snd most men cant even achieve that let alone multiple whereas men have guaranteed orgasms at climax. such is how we are designed. so screw fairer sex, according to me, instead of this so called "chosen one" privilege , id take equality anytime hands down. Go make the gender counters d Neos of ur matrix. Not interested. that would have been better. no one can convince me otherwise. so, i guess after the rant, my question is - how to not despise men with their very many privelages and male ego on top of that, as if we dont have self respect also let alone ego! - Kriti. Ur doing good work. And men mostly aren't like you. If this is real. #SimpleKen
@Twin Soul The fact that you believe God has gender is funny...
Hi Kenny #simpleken ,
Enjoyed listening to your chat with Rahul Subramanian. I have a question for you -
There are days/times when I simply do not feel like talking to people. There is nothing wrong with the people around, but there are times when I don't feel like initiating a conversation with another person. Being an introvert, I like being with my own self and thoughts. It becomes difficult to work at such times, as my profession demands interacting with people. I don't know if you undergo something similar, maybe at times when you do stand-ups or when your work demands connecting with others. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on how do you/would you deal/move ahead in such times. Your views?
If you don't mind me adding/asking, since the lockdown, hasn't this become even more difficult? Previously, at a workplace, it was still easier to just approach the person you need to talk to. But now, with work from home, it's become even more difficult. Has the same happened with you?
hey kenny this question i'm asking in context with ep 18 where you were talking about how we shouldn't expect people to react exactly in the way we want them to. i face a similar problem so what i do is whenever i telling my friends something that happened i just tell them exactly what i want them to do about it. like if i want advice on what to do next i ask them to give me advice, if i just want them to listen and emphasize i tell them that im not open to advice right now and i feel that makes it easier on both of us as they know exactly what kind of support im looking for and i also dont get pissed or disappointed unnecessarily. what do you think, i want to hear your opinion on this
ps. absolutely in love with this podcast ;)

What are the extra topics?
Its not always about ones efforts, you also need your luck to work as well. Even if I'm putting my 100% in something and then I don't get the result at all just because my luck is not giving it to me, it will make me miserable. And it's very easy for others to say that I didn't put in much efforts, whereas I might have worked for that one thing to happen for couple of years.
#simpleken Hey Kenny, yours is my favourite podcast. Unlike many people , I like how you always have a different perspective to offer, thanks for this mind opening experience.
My question to you is do you believe in manifestation, and if yes: which book would you recommend because there's a lot of theories about manifestation. So which one do you believe in .

No need feel bad about feminine qualities guys, we actually like men being empathetic and emotional, and girls also have masculine qualities like being independent etc., It's not that women are completely feminine and men are completely masculine, it won't work, we need to balance both depending on situation, what u guys don't know is women like funny guys more, no need to feel insecure, some people also say to me that I'm too sensitive but those who r really close to me never said that, they really like me for who I am, i understand some people see being emotional/vulnerable is weakness but i started to feel that's actually strength ❤️
Hey Kenny!!! Your podcasts are really helpful.... My question is.. I am the type of guy who seeks for a lot of attention. Like whether it is a friend or a family member if they are with me then I want all there attention. But everytime I feel like everyone is ignoring me and taking me for granted. Why do I feel so much alone and insecure and confused all the time!!!
Rahul your outlook to life is very cool...
You two need a separate new podcast, great chemistry.
Also want both of you and the comment section to check out the podcast *Are you Garbage* by two NY standups.
Hey Kenny i had just started to listen and watch to the long recording of u talking and all the chai time episodes i loved it so much that i watched all of the simple ken episodes in a week, so i think all of ur viewers are thinking the same as me and thanks a lot for being like a role - model for me (i'm 13) #SimpleKen i have 2 questions they are -
1. Like 2/3 years ago i used to be so excited for my birthday or for Christmas and things like that now it is like those things dont even give me pleasure/joy anymore and i just want to be alone all the time i know that it is me and not other people but what do i do to get some pleasure out of the things i do on a daily basis.
2. Is it always good to be positive or do u need a mix of both positivity and negatativity too for a good life ???
Great episode Kenny and Rahul, took a lot from this episode.....really good perspectives, gave something to think about! and Thank you for taking my comment. :))
Not looking for advice, but your viewpoints about pregnancy, miscarriage, postpartum depression, having kids. I'm just an undergraduate studying to go to medical school, but that means I wont be done with school until I'm 27-28. There's always some sort of pressure of having kids, but it becomes difficult being a female in this field. If there is anything you would want to change about the current society in regards to these topics, what would you do?
Love your work, you were my inspiration to do my first stand-up in high-school in the USA, big thanks to you because my humor would've been so dry if I hadn't pushed myself to try something new :)
