    MJ vs LeBron
This is a silly debate. Clearly Michael is better. It's not even a close one. But let's go to the facts. Updated after Lebrons 14th season. Michael Jordan has
    •3 more rings
    •3 more final mvps
    •1 more DPOY
    •1 more season MVP
    •9 more scoring titles
    •3 more steals leader
•3 more all defensive team selections
•4000 more points / bron moved past him in playoff points, but it took him longer lol.
    •800 more steals
•Beat 20 50+ win teams in the playoffs (Lebron only defeated 10)
•Jordan never averaged less than 40% Field Goal in the finals
    Lebron did it twice
    •6/6 (never allowed a game 7)
    •Lebron had much more help
•Jordan never had a teammate averaged more than 22 points in the finals..
Kyrie averaged over 28 and DWade averaged more than 26
•MJ never ever had a finals meltdown like Lebron in 2011 against the Mavs
•MJ had more points in the playoffs in less games..
All of this accomplished in 13 seasons
Lebron is in his 14th season still chasing the "ghost that played in Chicago"
•Michael Jordan in the playoffs has put up atleast 40ppg, 5rpg, 5apg in 6 different playoff series. Along with an average of about 55% shooting, 3spg and 2bpg.
(86 vs bos, 89 vs cavs, 90 vs philly, 92 vs Miami, 93 vs Phoenix, 88 vs cavs) Jordan won every one of those matchups except for the 1986 matchup vs the celtics.
•Jordan in 88-89 averaged 32ppg, 8apg, 8rpg, 3spg off 54% shooting. LeBron has never even came close to this stat line.
•in 87 thru 92, MJ averaged 5 straight seasons of atleast 51% FG shooting. LeBron has never done this.
•the lowest FT% MJ ever shot in a season was 78%. Lebrons highest in a season ever is 78%.
    •MJ has a higher playoff FG% of 48.7% to Lebrons 48.3%
•MJ has a higher playoff player efficiency rating of 28.6 to Lebrons 27.3.
•MJ shoots a higher playoff 3 point percentage of 33.2% to Lebrons 32.9%
•MJ also shocked the league by being the first (and only) player to have 100 blocks and 200 steals in the same season, then turned around and did it again the next year..
Seriously this list can keep going. This isn't even a debate. Mj is the GOAT.
Michael in only ELEVEN complete seasons with the Bulls:
    -10 STRAIGHT scoring titles,
-Won Defensive Player of the Year,
    -9 times all defensive team,
    -9time All NBA,
    -5 league MVPs
    -6 finals MVPs
LBJ missed the playoffs completely in his first 2 years. Jordan didnt with scrubs on his squad. Jordan played 82 games 9 times in his career once at 40. LBJ only played 82 games once. In 89 Jordan won the scoring title all star MVP slam dunk title regular season MVP and Defensive Player of The year something LBJ has never done. Jordan also averaged 41 pts a game for an entire Finals shootimg 50% and won. Something else LBJ never did.
All 11 seasons. Mj has done in 11 seasons things Lebron hasn’t done and won’t do in his whole career...
And before you criticize me for copy and pasting just know that it doesn’t matter if it’s copied or not, truth is truth.
    Check Mate.

Lebron has one of the ugliest 1 on 1 games I have ever seen by an all time great player. No foot-work no go to moves and what you saw in game 4 was not only Lebron giving up but the GSW defense adjusting to the defensive scheme. Lebron was getting blocked by Durant, ripped by Iguodala and Draymond coming at the right time for the help. So when Lebron wasn't making his easy layups that he gets he didn't have the confidence to trust his own jumper which he has been apparently working on this season. Lebron did not want to tarnish his field goal % so in the end everybody would blame Love for shooting 40% & JR smith for shooting 30%.
This game looked like Lebron was playing in 2007 mode against a great defensive team. A decade later Lebron hasn't changed his game other than the PEDs his taking... (allegedly).

LeBron has not learned that he must relinquish power in order for the team to perform better. His egotistical need to control every aspect of the offense is ultimately what leads to the regression of his team mates as competent NBA players, and the frustrations of his team mates are made worse when LeBron refuses to commit defensively. Wilt learned too late in his career that less is more when you're so gifted.

You right Lebron was ducking KD these finals especially what happened last year game 3 except this year Lebron was lucky enough to not be included in the 35 foot bomb Kevin Durant delivered this year game 3. Lebron went from being top defender with his overrated chase down blocks to not even trying with his Wilt-like stat padding no winner head ass.

Chris Huber Golden State makes Globetrotter shots from near half court consistently. There isn't a defense for that. Even a half court press/trap will fail because Durant and Green can get behind the press.

I’ve said for 8 years the worst job in the NBA is a LeBron James teammate...when you win the media says LeBron won by himself and when you lose those same players who had no bearing on the resulting win all of a sudden get 100% of the blame. LeBron has always ran a 4 low 1 high system with LeBron bulldozing to the rim for a layup or dunk and if he can’t make the layup or dunk he passes to someone at the 3 pointline and someone better make a 3 to get him an assist. I agree LeBron doesn’t want to play for a real legendary coach because he wouldn’t be allowed to control everything it’s why he ran away from Miami and Coach Spo/Riley

    • @vza7938
      @vza7938 4 роки тому +1

spot on...Lebrons system just aint a winning game, specially against good team defense like GSW and Spurs..when he forces his way to the rim, he needs some good scorers like Wade Kyrie or snipers like korver, green or Allen..and he bulldoze his way in slow, clutch situations..hence his inability to close out like MIke, excluding the mental aspect..people like to call him a team player, making his teammates better..when in fact, his teammates always suffer and had to defer their game..he only plays in his own system, which is useless against top teams, in spite of having good coaches like spoelstra..and when he loses, teammates and coaches get the blame, but his uncoachability is never mentioned..it doesn't matter who Lebron has as his coach..and credit is taken away from MJ for having Phil as a coach, when he should be praised for his coachability, and buying into a system..Phil wasn't even much of a proven coach before MJ..the narrative that lebron is a team player and MJ a ballhog is utterly false and is almost the opposite..Lebron almost always has the ball 70% of the shot clock, either pullup, bully his way for a layup or dishout, while his teammates just watch, which takes away their feel or confidence..he is regarded as a willing passer becos he has the ball so much that even if he dishes out 50 % and shoot 50%, he would still be making a lot of passes..he has still not developed a proper go to move, or off the ball movement, which leads to his PGs and other teammates in an awkward situation..

This why I lowered LeBron. I have him top 10 now. Forget even the 3-6 record. This honestly like the 3rd time I've seen him quit. Very talented, great stats but plays like it's a one man sport. And when he's down big, he just gives up completely and it be obvious. And a lot that's said about him, isn't true. Ex: making players better, great leader & not a stat padder. And if someone brings up 3-1 debacle, please remember it took a suspended Draymond, Bogut being out games 5-7, and iggy and Steph playing hurt and Kyrie to come back.

Jahleel Sayers I knew Steph was hurt when he couldn't even shake Love. Iggy showed me he was hurt with certain movements he was doing in the game. Draymond being out gave Cavs all the momentum and Bogut, their rim protector, was out while it was happening. Kobe scored big points while hurt so that means he's not hurt? Just because someone screams something doesn't make it true 😂😂. Just watch the game. Anyone with one good eye at least could tell iggy & Steph weren't 100%.

But it backfired because not only is MJ 100000x better then Le’Bron, but the #1 reason we as a world all loved MJ was because he had more heart and fire then any other person we ever seen. There was no comparison to Jordan at all, under any circumstance in any era. James is just an okay player; I wouldn't pay to watch him play, even in his prime, he's just another player to me. I never bought into the hype and I wanted him earlier in his career to just "take it" because it's right there... he didn't have it and doesn't.

@ChroniclesOfJudah 144 Kobe at 14th? I can't agree. He was a big part of the finals in 2000 on a swollen ankle scoring 28 in Game 4 and scoring 26 in Game 5 and hitting the series clinching shot over Reggie. And 01, 02, 09, 10 he was clearly a game changer in those finals. In 2010 he beat the big 4 with broken fingers and still had 23 points and 15 rebounds just as many as Pau. Yes he's the remix of Jordan and he's 5-2 in the finals no matter what happens. He's easily greater than Wilt, Bird, Jerry, and has more finals and rings than all 3 put together. Not to mention leadership, offense, defense, stats and championships. This is a top 3 player. Having him in your top 10 is a must. Regardless of how you feel bossman. Lakers are currently a 5th seed team. And when James loses again in the finals. He'll have one of his famous meltdowns. He'll bail to another team. Again I've said this before. " one player can not win a championship game. " unless that team that he is playing just quits playing. James doesn't have the killer instinct for destroying teams. jordan went for a team's heart. James will bail out on the Lakers when James realizes that he won't win the championship there.

Lebron played in a system in Miami so he can play in a system. The thing is does he want to play in a system? I believe that is why he left Miami to become a ball dominate stat stuffing machine. He needs a scorer/weapon like Kyrie to give his system any chance of working. He had good NBA players around him but they didn't or didn't want to play within what you call the Lebron system. A organization has to be strong enough and have a strong enough coach to make him buy into their system. The Cavs have no one that Lebron respects because they take a backseat to him. in Miami Pat Riley is running that organization and when he let Lebron know you just play don't worry about anything he got in his feelings and went back to Cleveland where they would let him do as he pleases. Hopefully these last two years has taught him all great players need a system.

So how is Lebron better than Kobe again ???
Apart from his off court issues or his injuries, on the court, he showed he was better. Eye ball test and stats show it. Offense and defensive skills, leadership, clutchness, determination, IQ, heart. Whether under Del Harris off the bench or Phil in both eras. Playoffs have shown it. Against tougher opposition on a consitent basis. Against the double teams. Time and time again he showed his ability to play within a system and play his role effectively. Play and win despite the injury or drama. He was not as efficient as Jordan and Kobe isnt the GOAT, but not better than Lebron?? Even at 33 years old, Kobe playing in his last playoff against Okc, the fight and heart he showed verse a superior team Lebron doesn't show. Or even as a 34 year old banged up Kobe, body betraying him, willing his dysfunctional injured team to the playoffs? Cmon now. Hate him for 1 Phoenix series but that doesnt define him. Players always pick Kobe.

    • @bobbyesteban6741

Gick Djoud kobe was a least effecient version of jordan. Jordan read the defense better and was very profecient in making his move before the defensive help gets there so that he can take a better shot. Jordan also used the triangle system to his advantage so that he was in the right position to score or make a pass. kobe preferred to play iso ball and never really embraced the triangle offense which allowed the defense to be in better position to send help in containing him. Jordan also moved around when the ball is not on his hands to create better spacing for his teammates or to create a better shot for himself. Kobe tended to stand around the perimeter waiting to get the ball back.

    • @xaviervega468
      @xaviervega468 6 років тому +2

Gick Djoud "you have to take itno account obstacles each one faced'
      Ok lets do that.
Kobe-Traded to a 50+win playoff contender on draft day
Jordan-Drafted by an absolute dumpster fire of a franchise.
Kobe- Gifted with his first 2 playoff appearances riding the bench
Jordan- Had to scratch fight and claw his way to his first playoff appearace in a conference that had Bird's Celtics Dr J's(then later Barkley's) Sixers, Isiah Thomas' Pistons
Kobe- Got to play alongside a league MVP
Jordan- NEVER got to play alongside a league MVP
Kobe- Had a teammate average 38, 33, and 36 in consecutive finals.
Jordan- Never had a teammate average even 20 in the Finals
Kobe- Coached by a Phil Jackson who was already 6 rings in
Jordan- Coached by Phil Jackson when he was a rookie head coach.
Kobe- Had NO expectations on him until year 9 when Shaq left
Jordan- Had the championship hopes and dreams of an entire city on his back since Day 1.
Yeah it's really not even close. Kobe faced NO adversity in his career until at least year 7 when Colorado took place. Before that his career had been as blessed as it could be. Then even after Colorado Kobe had only 2 down years before the Lakers were contending again.
This narrative that Kobe has faced SO much struggle in his career is 100% bullshit.

    • @dgames8900
      @dgames8900 6 років тому

@@bobbyesteban6741 As much as I agree with Kobe being less efficient then Jordan, your reasoning later on got into explaining off ball movement doesnt fully take into account the differences in both their eras. It was illegal for defenses to play zone or double on players in Jordans era. Jordan was a beast because he played 1v1 and was great doing it. Kobe did too but Kobe would collapse the defense against zones by luring doubles all the time. Thats why he always flourished and won when he had capable and reliable centers and/or power forwards. Also, idk why you said Kobe stood around waiting for the ball. Kobe frequently respected the triangle, matter fact, Phil would consistently use the triangle to create screens for Kobe to eventually get the ball and score or confuse the defense. Kobe trusted his teammates, contrary to popular belief. Especially when he had a guard or forward like Odom, Fisher, Gasol who could be ball dominant, score or run the point while Kobe would run around screens. Example, what Lebron does by passing the ball to a moving shooter who could quickly catch and shoot while moving and using screens to get an open shot... Kobe would do, except he was the shooter in the scenerio, not the facilitator. But those were all sets the coach ran. I'm not trying to say Kobe was better than Jordan, just simply the point you made wasnt right and your point is commonly said by people who are biased and dislike Kobe.

Hakeem might be a better basketball player but it would be marginal if at all. However Kobe's resume and career clearly trumps Hakeem and makes up for any marginal difference in talent level. Skip Bayless and I believe many others would disagree that LeBron hasn't done anything recently as bad as Kobe's 2006 Game 7 tantrum. How would you describe LeBron's performance in the OT of Game 1 in the Finals? What's the difference? Did he not throw a tantrum on the sideline and then simply go through the motions on the court?
Also, I think it's safe to say that LeBron James has surpassed Kobe as the most overrated superstar in NBA history. From his inception into the NBA, the media have tried (and failed) to convince the masses that he's the greatest player to lace up a pair of sneakers since Jordan. Refs aside in Game 1, there's no reason LeBron James shouldn't have pulled it together and found a way to complete the steal of Game 1. Period. As LeShannon Sharpe applies to every superstar except LeBron James "If he's THAT guy..."
I actually agree with you that Kobe belongs just outside of the top 10 but I can't understand how you still have LeBron in the top 10 after your breakdown of LeBron's finals performances and all the flaws associated with him. Seems a bit hypocritical. Because he influenced the Free Agency paradigm in the NBA? You yourself have said that that is what will be LeBron's legacy. Along with his underachievements of course.
Agree to disagree but eye test says Kobe is better. Despite the stats saying otherwise.
    Peace.

I think what we can all agree on is being ,for lack of a better term one dimensional(can only play in one selfish system)yet having amazing stats doesnt make for consideration in the goat conversation. Theres too many intangibles that don't translate to a stat sheet that set the greatEST players apart from just the great ones. Lebron just simply doesnt possess alot of those intangibles and we all know it. The tragedy of it all is that LeBron might just go down as one of those incredibly rare talents that accomplished some good things but his own ego hindered his ability to do so much more throughout his career. By not simply giving up some control and trusting proven systems, coaches, and teammates hes effectively cost himself alot more than few wins.

I think the term overrated is a bit of a overstatement when it comes to Kobe. Clearly, you don't understand the circumstances that occurred in that series. Kobe dropped 50 on game 6 and almost won the game by himself and was highly criticized for shooting the ball a lot by the media. Yes, he only attempted 2 shots in game 7 but the way I look at it is this, how come it took Phoenix 7 games to beat a depleted Lakers team that only had 1 superstar? Even if Kobe had beaten the Phoenix Suns, you still wouldn't give him his props and at best you probably would still have him outside the top 10. Allegedly!

This Finals for LeBron's legacy is reminiscent of the Finals for Curry in 2016. LeBron had more to lose, but both those players were on the cusp of having their legacies (even more) greatly magnified if they would've won those respective Finals. The media slightly turned on Steph after 2016. I am curious to see the conversation around LeBron post-summer 2018.

  • @MrPainfulTruth
    @MrPainfulTruth 6 років тому +2

I have been a coach for youth teams in higher leagues for many years. What we saw in the big screen with lebron is something i've often seen with super talented kids in the little picture. Young boys, undeveloped, not neccessarily the strongest, most mature character, get praised excessively and lose ground contact. They frequently stop working hard on their game, dont really improve their weaknesses but work on showboating things like dunks and fancy dribble moves. When they fail or lose, its neccessarily their teams fault because you know they are so talented it cant be THEIR fault, right? They make sure to get their stats, they get all cocky on wins, but will quit early and sit on the bench when they feel the game is going down hill. I could go on and on with analogies but the key message is, i am not surprised by the failure LeBron has become (relatively to the expectations, of course) but by the fact that the whole industry STILL hypes him publicly like he was the savior of basketball. Off camera we all know theres little respect for him as a player or person and once his career will be over you will hear and read a lot about that.

Could you imagine LeBron playing for the Spurs coached by Becky Hammond? The liberal media's head would be on a swivel, they wouldn't know whose side to take (although we know that hierarchy, so it would be prudent for LeBron to not yell at Hammond the way he does his other coaches. The media would turn on him with the quickness.) I don't see Popovich deciding to stay 4 more years, so if LeBron signs a 4 year deal with the Spurs, then it is very possible that he is eventually coached by Becky Hammond.

How can ignorance of medoracy be so powerful? "GOAT" means one who have done what no one else have done in his/her skill set before, is that a fair meaning of the subject? Lets look at the things LeBron James Have done in his career.
He packed out stadiums across the country while in high school, no one has ever done that, ok I give him that. He went to the NBA from high school, been done! He could not get his team up and moving in Cleveland, so he went to Miami with Dwayne Wade, already a champion there, so in hind sight he was train by Mr Wade, ok no one has done that!
Moving on, he was like a college kid that went off to school, got some training and came back home with fire and zeal of a champion and won a championship. The next year the air was knock out of him, why because he had no foundation as a champion. He got swept in the championship game.
Now I am not going to rehash Mr. Jordan's career in the NBA, because you know it. It takes strong mental power to become a champion, it takes super strong mental power to become , a champion, a champion, a champion...took a break, came back, a champion, a champion, a champion!
Now numbers do not lie, there was 29 teams in the NBA when MR. Jordan was playing....29 x3 = 89 teams to beat to be champion . Came back and put up the same numbers 29x3 = 89 teams again to be champion. 89x2 =176 teams to be a champion, He went against the law of averages, defied gravity, and the odds. His man name is mention by Dr. Denis Waitley as he describes the talent of Mr Jordan in the psychology of winning as "the art of visualization" as he mention other great names along side him. Mohammad Ali and Bruce Lee had that art in their craft
This statement is for Magic Johnson, who said.." I don't know what it was about him" there is your answer Magic.
I want to give you a metaphor: Lets take the complete NBA cast of the Michael error out of the decades of the 80's and 90's we are going to place the talent Of LeBron James error into the 80's and 90's. Would they have beat Magic, Byrd, The Bad Boys and all the other teams that had a very high possibility of being champions, but was stop because of Mr Jordan.
Now all of this is how i see it factually, But what i truly accept is the wisdom of Mr. jordan, who did not accept that honor and gave the reason why.
Greatness to me is what comes out of man and it reflects in the results of his works, what makes it powerful is the humility, decency and respect that he covers it with.
J Rose, you have great basket ball vision, keep it up!!!
