@@hayward85 Thank you! I've listened to couple of Scritti Politti albums, Cupid & Psyche 85, in particular, more times than I can count, but never got SUPER into them to know their band members or even the singer. I'm similar with Spandau Ballet, The The, and probably a couple other wonderful bands. Only so much time in the world to study... But listening? Oh yes. Over and over and over again. ❤️
@@WaltDittrich The music of the 80's was so diverse - for me, the 90's wasn't so exciting by comparison. The Word Girl was one of the first singles I bought, along with David Bowie's Modern Love. Yes, like you, I never grow tired of listening to Cupid & Psyche!
@@hayward85 YES, absolutely! I enjoy David Bowie's music, certainly, but the Let's Dance album, including Modern Love, that was super special. As a young teenager, I didn't really know David Bowie, and thought he was some New Wave guy like any other. 😂 Modern Love is one of my all-time favorites of his.
My apologies. After reading up on it, apparently, "miming" was very common on Top of the Pops. So strange a show so popular for so many years operated this way...
@@WaltDittrich Mostly the acts mimed, but some did play live - watching the show was one of the highlights of my week back then. Obviously some studio tracks are hard to perform live and still sound great etc. Green was definitely great at performing his vocals live so it's a shame he didn't (as far as I know) on any TOTP shows - check out this live performance of Word Girl from 2021: ua-cam.com/video/9YDMUrfmms0/v-deo.html
Green is gorgeous here - so is the song. Takes me back to some fun filled times...
Love Green xxx
Great song and Green's hair is absolutley perfect golden-brown perfection!
2022 Still a Classic!!
Green was one GOSH DARN CUTIE-PIE!!! 🤍❤️😍❤️🤍
Green looks like an attractive Belgian tennis coach in this clip. Wood Beez, Absolute and this are the uppermost of mid eighties music.
this is my favorite Green song ❤️❤️❤️❤️
What do you mean, "Green song"?
@@WaltDittrich He's referring to Green Gartside the guy who's singing

David G on the keys! 👍
Maybe it's me, but I think they're lip-syncing. 😥
Great song, though.
