Thanks for the review Andrew. I've just ordered one to replace my old X9D. Haven't flown in a number of years and having fun updating all my gear..looking forward to getting my hands on this one!
Too late, i think. After my QX7 died, i bought Radiomaster Pocket. Surprisingly capable Tx. Perfect for my big hands, as i can reach all switches without moving my hands. I love it
The X14 is a Home run, it packs so much in a compact and lightweight package and it is as capable as the flagship radios in terms of programming power. I had a Jeti and, although I loved it, I got tired of holding a metal brick that was a heat sink in the summer and a ice block in the winter. I fly gliders and the Twin protocol and receivers are a match made in heaven for these aircrafts. Also the CNC gimbals are really nice. As for Ethos, there is no need to keep constantly updating, just stay in the latest stable and bug free version and just go catch thermals!
My relation to FrSky is like someones to his first love. I moved to the next stage in life, but still sometimes looking back whats new in the life of the first one.
Thank you very much for this review. 2 days before I watched your video I was ordering the FrSky X14S because a friend of mine was recommending it after my Radiomaster TX12 MkII suddely got a defect and I have crashed 3 Helicopters with different Receivers! Now I am happy that I ordered it and probably will receive it tomorrow!
I sure do fancy this radio. I’m in love with my x20s. The X14 just looks like it would be more comfy to hold. I’d have to change the momentary switch for a two position though. I’ve used that switch for landing for so long now that I’d have a hard time not having retracts there.
I read on the web side that it is sell without battery and transportbag. I would like a full accessoried x14s. And may be with touch screen like twin lite.😊
I'm considering upgrading from my X9 Lite S (not enough switches), and I am torn between this and the X18. I think either transmitter would be more than plenty, and it seem that there are receivers up to 12 channel for TW, so that's fine. The base X18 is basically the same price as the X14 S. Decisions decisions.
frsky often gets called out for their behavior towards opensource projects like elrs and trying to vendor-lock their userbase. but man, they really do build nice radios. i fmostly fly fpv drones and my og x-lite is still going strong after so many years.
Rightly so.. its a greedy tactic that simply makes them untrustworthy, I would never buy any of there products again, the last thing I bought was a vario about 5 years back, and it will be the last thing I buy from them..
And with the Horus X10 and X12 now discontinued there's no longer an upmarket radio that runs EdgeTX available for purchase anymore. The Radiomaster TX16S is nice but it's not Horus X10S nice. That said if Radiometer released a version with the same electronics but an upgraded shell and larger, better speakers it'd be pretty close
Andrew, do you know if a td receiver would work with 900 external module installed. I have this radio i like it feels good in the hands nice light weight
Multiprotocol is dangerous because it's possible to have bind code collisions with legit modules and those protocols aren't like ELRS where the bind code is quintillions of possibilities long because the original makers of those protocols use sequential hard coded codes in their modules so they are only worried about having enough bind codes to last production life of the module.

Yes it's a winner. Ethos is different

Excellent. I have used both but the X14S is much better quality. The Twin protocol receivers will be much more secure for helis.
The purring at the end...priceless🤌🏻
Yes, love em.
I have the X14 and love it. I just wish it came in Navy Blue.
Great video Andrew! Thanks

Yes it really is Just Right
Really nice radio. Feels high quality. I also have the x20 but the 14 is nice size prefer the lower screen
Thanks Andrew 👍💪✌
I was your 200th like on this video. So please send my Ferrari to the US. Anywhere. I'll find it. Cheers
Ferrari Rocher coming your way!

Twin protocol is more useful for me, don't need 900MHz and big antennas. The base X14 would be even cheaper

What is the polarisation of the twin antennas, are they just flat in the top handle?
Did you think PL18 is better ?
PL18 is good but X14S is much better with more model space and more channels
@@AndrewNewton Thank you for your comment

It would have to be a TD protocol module but I don't think FrSKY make one.
@@AndrewNewton thank You
i have one love it
lol looks like a radiomaster boxer
No. More like a Jumper !.
@@rickikilvi5406 basically the same
I really good review. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Does it run Elrs at full full speeds?
All the packet rates are available in the Lua, if that's what you mean
Crossfire will work with that radio?
Yes
@@ramchandyalamanchili8258 Thats nice. Thank you.
Can you replace ETHOS with EDGE-TX on this radio ?
No, Ethos only
Hmmm. Just looks like a radiomaster boxer to me
Trying to get back their market share lol
Radiomaster is SO yesterday.
@@rickikilvi5406 What would that make FrSky lol
And the Boxer looks like a TBS Tango 2
No multiprotocol...?....No thanks...😳
@@rickikilvi5406 I've got Crossfire in my Module Bay.....You know, the real one... Lol....😏😏🇬🇧
