      My favorite instance of this was slave knight Gael, he starts off as a questionable fellow you meet in a church but after he pulls you into the scrap of paper he comes a solid ally and you learn of his motivation, helps you fight friede, sets off to find the pigment, then the ringed city rolls around and he's left tracks and directions for you to follow and boom he again helps you out here at the end of the world against forgotten demons and a massive abyss dragon, but he presumably goes on seeking the pigment until we time-travel forward and find out that the crazy bastard ate the world and now he wants our part of the dark soul. Epic fight ensues. Artorias is a great fight and I love that he was willing to shield his dog since he was doomed anyway, but technically he just takes credit for everything we the player do in that DLC, even saving sif, the Cheshire cat and the player are the ones who save young wolf sif. I mean with From anything is possible but they could’ve put anything there and yet they put an enemy that both 1. has a ton of lore significance and 2. is still sort of a pain in the ass when you fight one in Farum Azula at least on your first playthrough

    22:18 "The Carians didn't know Ranni was the orchestrator of this plot and they just thought: wow someone just murdered one of our princesses, they wanted blood, so they murdered Tiche". I'm missing something(s) here
    "Carians don't know Ranni was gonna off herself on the NOTBK so they think shes murdered by they Black Knives." Im following so far, shes dies with the cursemark and all.
    Tiche's ashes say she was killed protecting Alecto fleeing the capital on the NOTBK. So the night would go like this: Ranni has a fragment of death, (another question of mine) she laces the Knives at the Carian manor, the assassins take the lift and kill Godwyn, the escape plan is to flee the capital southwest, hit the Grand Lift, go to Carian Manor, and take the portal in Renna's Rise back to Nokstella? But when Ranni ends up dead the Carians cut them off before the portal, kill Tiche, and imprison Alecto? And seeing as we dont encounter many Carians, Im assuming it would be Renala who cut them off?
    As I'm rewriting this more it makes some more sense now (if im correct) seeing as Black Knives go after Ranni once presence is discovered after her supposed death when she yoinks the fingerslayer blade, so the BKA's go after her for fucking them on NOTBK then stealing the blade but encounter a Feral Blaidd, and go after Iji probably because he was the imprisoner of Alecto.
    If this is incorrect, what is correct?
    Also I cant figure out how Ranni steals a fragment of death from Maliketh. Does Marika just slip her one and its poor wording in english? Im guessing Ranni had the Godskin carve the curse on her seeing as hes guarding the sacred tower with her body.

    • @theworstcatholic7247
      @theworstcatholic7247 Рік тому +2

      I think it could be easy for Ranni to get a shard of death. She's the child of Marika, while Maliketh would definitely wipe her out in a fight with death, he was the guardian and 'sibling' of her mother. Odds are he had a close relationship with her spawn or at bare minimum respect due to his connection to her Mother.
      Maliketh also acts like it was his fault for them getting it. Which considering he took out the Gloam eye and took her death, I doubt anyone was beating him in a fight except for Marika herself.
      Just steal it and dip when he's not paying good enough attention because he doesn't think the child of Marika would ever attempt it. Ranni is also the only Empyrean with a beast shadow like Marika herself. Which makes me wonder if she had a closer connection to Maliketh in some sense, but that part is just complete speculation.
      I can definitely see the Godskin carving the curse in her flesh, but the way Rogier talks about the cursemark knive's implies the ritual was more Ranni than anyone else. So perhaps he was just in search for the Cursemark because it could arguably a part of death or sense like it?
      That's a very interesting take on why the black knives are going after Ranni though.

    • @michaelwerkov3438
      @michaelwerkov3438 Рік тому +2

      I think the answer to how ranni gets the rune of death is bound up in who the dusk eyed queen actually is (marika? Melina?), as she and the godskins originally held the rune of death.
      If i had to guess... i think marika IS the gloam eyed queen (though i wanted it to be melina), and that she both bound the rune and had the best access to get part of it... kinda betraying maliketh at the same time.

      @@theworstcatholic7247 I forgot to return to this, to point you towards an underlying assumption of my question regarding how Ranni stole a fragment of death, which is what @Michael Werkov wrote: that there's reason to believe Marika (or Melina) was the Gloam Eyed Queen. So when you wrote "I doubt anyone was beating him in a fight except for Marika herself", the two of us are inclined to think the same. It is said that when a bloodhound knight chooses a master, they serve them for the rest of their lives. The wording suggests that it’s for both the bloodhound knight’s life or the master’s life depending on who goes first. I think that Darriwil served Ranni for a time but after she killed her physical body, Darriwil assumed that his service was over. From then on I’m not sure what happened but it is likely that Blaidd, who saw this as treachery went after him and Darriwil locked himself in the Evergaol to hide (or maybe was locked there by someone else? I don’t know) and that’s where we pick up.

That was until I took out Hughs again and found that he is excellent against Malenia as his great pebbles really draw her attention and both his club and gavel always get a knockdown on her, now his damage did suck, but that's what the player's job is and his is being suppression he could even survive for a decent bit in the 2nd phase. I think I foubd my new favorite lore channel. The topics you cover are amongst the most interesting stuff in this gsme, not the usual "lore of the XYZ" type. You always seem to give as many explanations as possible to any one subject, and you remember to point out this might be completely wrong which is true but so many channels try pretending to be the only possible explanation.
    I, for one, am going to sub and keep a close eye on your content from here on out

    I like the evergaols due to having varied and mostly unique enemies, that can then be theorised about and fill up possible previous timelines etc, it just feels like it fleshes out the world more by showing it has a history

    It's possible that being imprisoned in the evergaol removes any influence of outer gods, as vyke had the 3 fingers within him

    The spot on the ground where the prisoners pop out of in the gaol kinda looks like the center part of the rift shield to me. I think it could be described as a rift. Since the prisoner class is pretty mysterious lorewise, maybe there could be a more direct connecton between the class and the Evergoals?

    Now, i absolutely fucking love the evergaols, they're really really interesting and also extremely ominous because of the extremely dark surroundings, and I'd like to give some theories on them.
    Not necessarily a theory but just something I want to know is why the hell vyke is in an evergaol, but without his madness. It really just doesn't make sense to me, despite it being really cool.
    Darriwell is very cool as well, and I think he may have served ranni, but found out she wanted to go against the two fingers, and Abandoned her , leading to the events in game.
    The crucible knight at the stormhill evergaol is a great learning tool for the player at the start, and speaking of them, I'd love to see you make a video on them, I would like to make my own but we really don't know much about them. They're really interesting and they all have really unique stories we can form from them just based around the environments they're in and what they're doing in them, they're really badass.
    I believe the alabaster(?) Lord outside of the caria manor I think is actually one of radahn's teachers, who learned of the plot to kill radahn to free the stars and decided to try and put a stop to that shit, he failed fucking Miserably but it was a noble effort I guess.
    Finally, As for the blue and purple shadow shit that the prisoners walk out of, I think it could be 2 things:
    1, some kind of sleep that you wake them up from
    2, and more likely, this shit is what actually keeps them locked down in the evergaol, keeping them from roaming around the already little room they already have in the evergaol.

      Yes, after killing his maiden he traps his mind in the evergaol to atone for killing her and all that's left is a deranged husk of a man that attacks anything that comes near. Hence the festering part of the invading vyke's title

    I’m not sure if someone said this but I’m pretty sure Godfrey in the war of the dragons went to fight the “lord of the storm” aka the dragon lord(can’t remember his name) and I think some crucible knights where left behind after the war and they didn’t know it was over so they keep fighting
