I would love to know how to test to see if the plasma generator needs to be replaced. How can I test it’s working, i.e. with a multimeter?

Hello, I purchased a df64v grinder, and after I used it 4 times, it started to make an electric loud noise when it is connected to power supply but is not turned on. I tried to get in touch with you and I sent you a record of the sound, and I wait for a reply. I'm not sure if is safe to use it and I unplugged from power supply.Thank you

if you are still using the plastic cup, stop using it and get a metal cup or grind directly into portafilter. this will solve the static issues. the ionizer likely works fine, the plastic cup is a haven for static

I also see the plasma generator isn't doing the work, I have the machine for a month and it seems to stopped working after 2 weeks, I get too much static, I always need to spray the beans generously. If you have issue with plasma generator I Don't mind buying a new one

@@Daniel-ch52 no problem. When I got my df54, I was using the metal cup from my d40+. I then started grinding directly into the portafilter, but that didn't last long, then I went to the plastic cup and I started having static issues. It never occur to me that it was the cup. I was frustrated one day after many weeks of static build up, and having done a full deep clean of the machine and still getting static buildup immediately after, that I searched it on reddit and someone mentioned the metal cup thing and it all made sense. Since then, I've been grinding directly into the portafilter with a small dosing funnel. No static issues at all, barely any buildup on the diodes, I shove a brush up there once a week just to keep it clean. And because the anti clumper and anti static is so good, I don't even wdt anymore. Tap it level, tamp and go

@@Daniel-ch52 I also let my friend who also has a df54 and was frustrated with the static know this, he switched to a metal dosing cup and the issues went away for him as well and now he's back to loving the machine

I know these are Chinese made grinders but seeing wire nuts being used hurts to see. Use better connectors. Kinda cheap.

They are crimp terminals, not wire nuts. Granted he didn't use the correct tool to crimp them, when properly crimped, crimp ferrules/ terminals are much more secure than actual wire nuts.
Wire nuts are what the Americans use for their electrical wiring and simply twist on.
These aren't connections that are meant to resist movement in regular use, nor are they meant to be end user serviceable; the use of crimp terminal is perfectly good and there's no need for a reusable connection like Wagos which would drive the price up significantly.
