in the advanced info spec it states nature of democracy, which is ok, when i look at aqa spec it gives mention to suffrage, partisan dealignment and participation also, are these things that have been left out in favour of just the single nature of democarcy topics so it reduced the amount of topics we should focus on?
Switzerland maintains a rather robust system of direct democracy so technically there's still a modern state which employs it extensively but outside of Switzerland I can't think of one. Switzerland is a rather small country though.
Modern democracy theorists would suggest strong local governments with citizen participation in community affairs and social movements provide the many benefits of direct democracy. This participation would prevent abuse of power by politicians.

What kind of 9 markers and 25 markers could be asked about this?
my politics teacher mentioned a possible 9 marker could be outline and explain 3 features of a representative democracy if that helps
