Based on his LinkedIn, Yoshinori Ono ported the music for this version (he was a Sound Creator for a "PC" version; MS-DOS and Amiga versions for Super and Super Turbo were all done overseas, thus it has to be this one). Ono said he worked on a port of Super Turbo/II X in a few interviews, so this lines up well enough. For those curious, he did not work on the Genesis/Mega Drive version of SSFII (again, his LinkedIn only notes a PC version for that game, whereas he specifically notes having worked on a "GN" version of Muscle Bomber/Slam Masters, consistent with his WIRED interview).
Thanks for uploading this. I had heard these in another video but it was in Japanese and I was never able to track it down again. Guile’s theme in particular sounds stellar mixed like this.
This is better than the CPS2 soundtrack and should've been the original OST for all versions of SSF2 from the very beginning. The arcade version we got is literally inferior in almost every way possible.
33:42: This rendition of Balrog/vega's theme has sort of a special status as it is the only one for which the melody has been harmonized that way, not even the CPS2 rendition has this.

To me this sounds close to how the Genesis version could have sound were it not for memory limitations or whatever reason the sound quality wasn't great.
Which version of SSF 2 is this? It's not sega, snes, 3do, arcade and certainly not any of the newer ones like anniversary and HD. I really liked this version. Tried looking up Guile and Zangief's versions of what this is.

20:46 CPS1 version of the famous CPS2 Guile theme and its great
What Super Street Fighter 2 should've sounded like on the Sega Genesis.
I wish there was a vgm pack of this awesome rendition.
I like this much more than any midi version of this game.
Sounds so much better than the Genesis/Mega Drive version!!
Definitely.

This is definitely the best version of Super Street Fighter 2.
Thanks for uploading this. I had heard these in another video but it was in Japanese and I was never able to track it down again.
Guile’s theme in particular sounds stellar mixed like this.

This is one of my favorite renditions of the Street Fighter 2 soundtracks!
This is better than the CPS2 soundtrack and should've been the original OST for all versions of SSF2 from the very beginning.

I said before that most of this music would be used in the console ports of Hyper Street Fighter 2 under CPS1.
To me this sounds close to how the Genesis version could have sound were it not for memory limitations or whatever reason the sound quality wasn't great.
blanka's theme sounds awesome
Really digging the MegaDrive style for this soundtrack; I'd even consider it BETTER than the CPS-2 soundtrack! (At least in some cases)
1:04:39 Chun Li Ending 2 (Different Soundfont CPS1 Remix).
I said before that some of the music in here was reused in the console ports Hyper Street Fighter II under the CPS1 format.
For the SSF2-only characters, yeah, this is where those themes came from.
They did edit them some so they use the sf2 drums, so they're not brought over wholesale
1:03:19 Chun Li Ending 1 (Look like Hyper Street Fighter 2 Arranged).
00:31:55 I think you need to reupload this with some fixes.
Does anyone outside of Japan actually own both a Sharp X68000 and this version of "Super Street Fighter II"?
That OST is SSF2 cps-1 Version?!

@@GardevoirBoy This Music can be also probably playing on the CPS-1 because of the same Sound Chip.
