You forgot to move the spacer, which comes together with the screw with which you screw the SSD into place. the spacer that small tube serves as support for your ssd. Without a spacer there is a chance if you screw it on too hard you will force and break your SSD port. Now the metal spacer that you have not moved and is loose in your SSD compartment has free play to possibly cause a short circuit when you put it back upright. I'd check it out anyway.

I currently have the Crucial P5 Plus 1tb in my PS5 and it works great, now I'm about to pull the trigger on the 2tb version. lol

Try turning off your PS5, removing your M.2 SSD, and then inserting it again.

Sorry to hear that. But how? Do you have P5 Plus? I know they have other SSDs, but some of them are too slow for ps5
