The stupid idea that Payton was "brought in to make Russell Wilson a great quarterback" is laughably false. He was brought in because he was a philosophical match with Penner. What is Penner's philosophy? He's a long term strategist, a guy who believes in making investments in development rather than quick fixes, which is what most fans want. Another case where outside observers know little about what is going on with local teams.
