There's a cool breeze blowin' You can feel it across the land. It's clear blue skies, It's grandma's eyes, A place where you can stand. Late Night is the reason Our forefathers fought with pride. It's surfin' fun, it's dad and son, A feelin' that's deep inside. (CHORUS) It's a Late Night world, It's a world that we can share. So turn on your TV And watch it with me. It's a Late Night world of love. (END CHORUS) There's a whole new generation who are willing to say yes. Soups and stews, A wall of shoes, A thing called happiness. So change the channel, Change your life, Doesn't cost a thing. We're talking loud, standing proud, now join us as we sing (REPEAT CHORUS TWICE)
legasiguy Saddly they did not. It would have been good if Dave, Paul Bill Murry the rest of the guests, staff and viewers to sing as one. At the end we should have seen Dave, Paul and the family ride of into the sunset on a horse playing this song.
legasiguy At least we still got 38 years of Dave to watch again 1977-2015. I have not seen much of his shows I've seen a few classic ones and most of them from 2009 and onwards also i've seen some of his most famous moments. From a weatherman to Mork and Mindy and to the 2nd if not the best talk show host. Johhny Im Sorry you are great but you are 2nd place to Dave. What is your favorate Dave moment?
My favorite moment was when Dave would create fireworks with fruit by throwing it off the top of buildings. That was so different back then. I had a huge crush on Dave when I was about 13. He is still the best. I liked Stephen Colbert when he was on Comedy network but Dave's shoes were too big to fill.
thomas arundel Well you could say that now because Dave has retired. No more Dave but we still got all the good classic moments on youtube like the video above.
Brings a tear to your eye doesn't it ?
Things go better with Tom Jones.
Tom could sing the phone book and make it rock!
Wow- thanks for posting this, I've been looking for it for years.

That's Melissa Etheridge singing backup, this video just got 1,0005 better!
...with the Tower of Power horns, Carlos Santana and David Sanborn, no less hahaha... love it
Also Tito Puente and McCoy Tyner.
is this melissa ethridge as a backup singer??
I'm looking for the original, too. Chris Elliot doing his best "We Are the World" parody in the chorus of the song is priceless!
and Larry Bud Melman !

Thay better play this song for Late Night 40th Anniversary
I'm also looking for the first version of this classic. Chris Elliot doing his best "We Are the World" parody in the chorus is priceless!
Santana is the only one who got the memo to wear all red.
They make it like hes dead. Lol.

Maybe Tom Jones could sing it at his funeral or play the tape.
