Great video! Just knowing I'm going to need a swivel in advance will save me so much frustration
Thank you! Happy to help!
Buen video hermano! Muy ilustrativo
Thank Sir for making this DYI video for us who need to keep our vehicles on the road.
You're very welcome! Happy to help!
Excellent video! I just changed the transmission fluid on my 2017 & 2017 is the year they eliminated the Pan filter with the screen. You just have to change the filter you did. Also I used amsoil CVT fluid but both are still good.
Thank you! This was the first time I changed the aux filter on suv. Had them on trucks, but not light duty vehicles. I really glad the decided to have it knowing all the issues with CVTs.
I'm needing to do my wife's 2017 rogue, planning on using amsoil also. So you say only a auxiliary filter is on the 2017?
@@ericc155 yes, only one filter as demonstrated in the video.
And in 2015 it can be done
How much oil you added/what is oil capacity of Txn oil
Make sure the rubber gasket doesn’t get stuck in the housing when you remove the old filter.
Great point! Thanks!
thanks for this gem.
is that ten mm a speed wrench ?
You're very welcome! Yes it is 10 mm
Blessing , do you happen to know where is the second filter located to a 2012 nissan rouge s ?
It is inside the transmission. You will need to take transmission pan off.
Check this video.

Hi Sir, what branch transmission fluid did you use for your nissan rogue? Castrol, Amsoil or Nissan.
I used a different one, as that one was the only one available at that time. But recently Castrol released this one which looks great.

How many liters is needed to do all this procedures (draining CVT pan + replacing filter)
Thanks in advance.
Please check my other video on fluid change, I believe I mentioned it in their.
where did you get the filter??
because I can't find it anywhere
There is an amazon link in the description to the video.

How often should this filter be changed? Thanks!
Considering that is a cvt transmission, I'd do the filter and fluid every 50,000 kms or every 5 years. That should make transmission last.
I changed mine at 120,000 miles but have been doing the drain and fill fluid method every 40.000 miles.
I would recommend changing the filter at 100, 000 if you do regular maintenance if not then change it ASAP including the CVT fluid
Is there a filter inside the pan? 2018 rogue
I do not believe so. There is a discussion under Transmission fluid change video, with more details.
No , it isn’t a filter
It is a screen that protects it
I've been trying to remove that hidden screw for the last 3 days. I'm at a loss. On my rogue 2016 it's even less accessible. I curse Nissan! Where can I buy that same small swivel you use? I can't find it anywhere on Amazon, home Depot or Home hardware here in Canada! I bought other tools but none work on that screw! Please help.
Sorry to hear about your troubles. It must be frustrating. Here is a link to a swivel that looks very similar to mine. Thought I got mine years ago at Princess Auto. amzn.to/47R7xI3
@@justdoityourself thx for such a quick response! This is super helpful. I actually found some of those but all the handles I have or can find online are lateral and not straight, and somehow they don't fit in the tiny space between the screw and the pipe/casing (depending on whether I try to access the screw from above or under). I might check princess auto tomorrow in Bolton!
@@hazardeus Good luck with the search and the repair!
@@hazardeus i was able to remove that bolt front he top of the engine. my issue is i can't torque the bolt as a regular 1/4- 10 mm will not fit 100% on the bolt and you can't see what you are doing
Amsoil makes the best CVT fluid on the market.
Thank you for your comment!
the best cvt fluid is the cheapest cause it's all actually the same shit lmfao.
@@Pingaheimer you are ignorant
Which makes me laugh out loud.
why call me ignorant,? i'm just expressing my opinion after using both the expensive Nissan branded fluid and using Castrol fluid which is a fraction of the cost so it's based on personal opinion. I think Nissan puts the fear of god into people to dissuade from purchasing other brands of fluid and they can rake in all the money when people wanna get CVT fluid. I use Castrol universal which is $20 a gallon and i have a buddy who also has a Nissan Rogue and has been doing CVT drain/fill religiously every other oil change since he purchased the car using Castrol without issue. My mom used to have a Nissan and she insisted on using the factory stuff which is like $100 for 5 qts and her CVT crapped out at like 70k miles. I don't think the brand of transmission fluid is gonna make or break anything unless you're a race car driver or something tbh. Just my two cents.@@anguslean4058
Is it the same location for the 2008 rouge?
Not sure about that. Sorry.
No. 2008-2012 rogues have the filter under the battery tray. Some people access it from the driver's side wheel well.
Good video! But, please try to speak more clearly without much mumbling and a bit less finger swooping...
Thanks for your feedback!
He talks just fine
Maybe you need to get your ears checked.
