I hope the fix the workflow annoyances in Plasticity in future version 1 updates. I’m currently on the 30 day trail but I’m going to buy it. It feels nice being able to buy software again. These subscriptions are annoying.
I agree. One of the reasons I jumped from Shapr3D was their ridiculous pricing model and nothing for hobbyists. What hobbyist is going to spend $300 per year on software that expires. The community constantly asked the CEO of Shapr3D to think about a more cost effective tier and he ridiculed them. There was a UA-camr that did a very fair analysis on got into a flame war with him. Anyways, I bought the indie tier of Plasticity for $99, because it's exactly what I need and I don't feel like I'm on a clock for something that will expire.
Well, I didn't learn much here. Plasticity is being upgraded rapidly. When you make a rectangle just click, TAB, type in X. TAB, type in Y so not more now. 1.2 has just been released with a lot of new features.
Shapr3D on an iPAD with a pencil is just amazing. Is just the price that like wow!, I just build thing as a hobby once in a while, which they had a more affordable pricing...
Plasticity is meant for game object creators who are rarely doing precise measurements. You still do UV and painting in other apps most of which allow you to also adjust to precise sizes. A recent change in the past week halves the number of clicks so it now matches your other program reasonably well.
One thing I find confusing about Shapr3d is: Doesn't CAD require a powerful PC? So Sharpr3d can't run all that well on iPad with limited ram and processing power.
If you know some one with an ipad and pencil you can get the free version of shapr3d and try it. You will be surprised. I was and I have 3090ti pc. The Apple store might let your try it out possibly. You not going to build a complete model of a car with every nut and bolt in it. These programs are really for parts creation and simple assemblies. I 3d print a lot and shapr3d works well for that.
@@Z-addthat wasnt my experience. I ran it on an Ipad pro and it was allready loading for seconds a when filleting 1 relatively short spring shape.. its cool to do parasolid on Ipad. But I think its too demanding for it.. Nomadsculpt works incredibly well however.
I'll enlighten you: Apps like plasticity are a godsend for 3D artists. It made with that community in mind and people are loving it. You can go ahead and make your screws and nuts in CATIA or whatever
As a 3d artist that uses blender. I'm not understanding what the hype is with any of these programs if the can't produce cam toolpaths. Blender can technically do all the same things if you know how or have the correct addons. And it seems like goals of these programs is to export these to something like blender to be be rendered anyways
@@SparkyTV2 no offense, but you never had to detail hard surface objects, do you? In cad you have almost no limits with detailing, you can Export the thing as a high poly to bake and voila

Shapr3D needs an account for syncing between devices. But after you've logged in you can use it without internet as well, it's just not syncing :)
Do you feel strongly about ANYTHING?
Do either of these apps work well with more complex designs? I'm looking for a replacement for Fusion 360 which gets bogged down too quickly.

yeah 300-400 is pretty steep
Dude, you gotta get to the point with the video. Do a direct comparison without any filler.
Do you know if pladticity will have parametric/timenline like shapr3D and fusion?
nope
Yes, the history feature will be major feature for Plasticity V 2.0 Version
Waiting for a Plasticity app. I hate subscribtions options so..
If only there was a way to export from plasticity to twinmotion!

Now plasticity is focusing more in CAD workflow , you can add dimensions and design with accurately with dimension based workflow also
Just press Tab! ;) Nice Video

Shapr3d was initially designed for the ipad. It is heavily optimized to run very fast on ipad.

Plasticity > Shapr3d
pseudo cad tools
As far as I know they both use siemens parasolid and you can get step and iges out of them which is handy.
Troll alert!
