Amy Barnett is a Chicago based hairstylist that has survived benzodiazepine and flouroquinolone injuries. She’s in recovery from CPTSD resulting from developmental aged trauma while also navigating the road to healing from PANS with her 11 year old son. To say there’s been a lot on her plate is a huge understatement but she uses levity and humor every day. Constantly applying the golden rule of improv “yes and” helps her with acceptance and keeps her on the bright side of her paradigm.

Every video you do gets better and better😭
You could have recovered and gone on about your life, but instead you decided to stay in the trenches and fight for the ones still going through this internal hell from the after effects of these stupid drugs.
    You are such an inspiration!!
    God is using you girl!!

Angie - This is so great that you're doing these much-needed interviews with so many wonderful people like Amy. We can learn something from every single conversation! You personally responded to me a couple of years ago after I was recovering from what I found out to be Akathisia and was watching lots of Medicating Normal interviews. Those personal responses from you meant the world to me. So grateful! Keep doing what you're doing! There are so many (countless) voices out there that need to be heard.

OMG! Alice in wonderland sensation. I started experiencing that when I was 11. I wasn’t on any meds, but I would feel my head growing and shrinking when I was taking tests in school. I was obsessed with good grades. Thank you so much for validating me! I’ve never told anyone about it except my wife.

I'm with you. It's my cruelest symptom and it's a persistent feeling that last for hours most days. You're not alone. We just have to get through the insanity. One day at a time.

Hello! Thank you for making this video. It has given me hope.
My story began this year in
March: I went into a temporary psychosis/mania from smoking weed. And was put into a mental health clinic where i was told i had bipolar. I was told i need medication and later injected with abilify and told i need to be on it for years.
May, I noticed i no longer had feelings/emotions, and i knew something was wrong.
June, i was told to take another shot and i decided to take the oral route instead.
July, i did research and i decided on my own to get a new psychiatrist, told him my story and he allowed me to taper off the abilify.
August, I've been a week and a half drug free.
I am still concerned about my emotions/feelings/thinking.
As of now i am eating healthy/exercising/vitamins.
Thank you again for making all of your videos!

Thank you! I've been watching your videos as well. You have incredible strength, and i admire you so much. It's been a very challenging and hard journey so far. I'm having a hard time hanging on to hope. I am just now learning all the horrible effects of these drugs and feel betrayed by doctors.

Jessie it’s totally horrible what you have been through. It’s early days and healing takes time. Keep watching Angie’s videos and strengthen your resolve to stay off these meds. Run like the wind from the world of psychiatry. Thank God you caught this problem early. Stay fierce and committed to natural healing. You are strong. You listened to your inner knowing and bravely stepped away from the medication. Applauding you 👏❤️

Angie, what are your thoughts on Primal Trust, Gupta and the other programs while in AD WD? Anyone else have any positive experiences with this? Somatic therapy/exercises, etc…

Did she start the DNRS program after the akathisia subsided? I feel like that’s where many of us run into the inability to utilize those kinds of tools unfortunately - like until we get to a point in healing where we can focus and remember things. Hoping to be able to try it once I get to that place where I am more functional 💜

    • @AngiePeacockMSW
      @AngiePeacockMSW  10 місяців тому +1

Yes that’s exactly what we are talking about. Once out of the severe stuff THEN these tools can be helpful.

With the DNRS program, did she have to purchase additions to the program besides the $350 cost for the program to work?

She tapered for so long but still had major withdrawal symptoms after she stopped tapering? Were they new symptoms after she stopped? I’m at the end of my taper and I’m nervous. Did she taper to zero?😢
