great job on the fix, love the shooting part. It's rare to find a video of people willing to shoot these! I found one at my local gun shop, and being a S&W fan I’m going to have to go get it tomorrow 😁🙌 My wife asked me why, And I told her “it’s the first s&w to s&w, I just have to” lol
In the day, any bullet wound could be fatal. If not immediately from the bullet, then from the infection that the bullet caused. And nobody wants to go that way. So it would actually make a good deterrent. Nice vid
I would be all in for a replica Model 1 chambered for modern .22 short, and Model 2 chambered for either .22 LR, .32 Short, .32 Long or .32 ACP. Two of each in nickel plated with rosewood grips please!
For quite some time, a Colt was the only revolver i had. However, diversity and inclusion is important here around, so i also got a model 29. Which brought me here, to your wonderful histoy lessen about Colt, Smith and the revolver in general. Thanks a lot for your efforts, very nice video!
Wow some dirty business to order rifles and then refuse to pay for them sound a like the early gun business men did some scams I guess that model 1 is the original back up gun
Perhaps the “beige” bounty hunter in Django Unchained should have used this instead (the Remington over/under was introduced in 1866). Plus he would have had five shots left after dispatching the “massa”.
Neat little revolver! Tip up S&W's are fun to shoot, mine is a really well preserved no.1½ 2nd issue in .32rf long. I also have a Colt New line 32rf and the S&W is a lot more accurate with the 3½" barrel compared to the Colt's 2⅛" barrel.
@@Real11BangBang I have a 4 MM Fobert with ammunition. There's a hundred in a very small can shaped a little larger than a shoe shine polish container.
The overwhelming popularity of the Model 1 from 61' to 65' was due to a contract they signed with the faeries, who loved them so much due to their size and the ability to use them against mice, which were giving them a huge problem during the war. I can't verify this though, and neither should anyone go to any lengths to try.
I just ordered a second edition today off of gunbroker. Everything appears to be in good condition, and I don’t mean it’s just above the point of falling apart. I want to be able to shoot it, but I don’t have the ability to make my own ammo like you. I can’t find black powder .22 short, and wanted to see if you knew of any alternatives that won’t destroy the cylinder due to over pressure?
I have many S&W n Colts both are excellent revolvers.... How ever the real Colt is no longer n kinda sad..... My first hand gun is n still have a Model # 10 - 5" Pinned barrel n shoots as good as it was when I bought it for $ 89.00 new in the box..... I doubt my G-19 will shoot as good 50 yrs.later.... be well.
hello, to you ‼️ I don't understand why smith and wesson maked these small revolvers in such small calibers ⁉️ what the mean of these revolvers ... they was very anemic and like told Max Twain " this little revolver shooting bullet like a pills ... and you don't hit a cow 🐮 if she doesn't walk ‼️" ... 👋🤣 10:56
why were you hating on that little gun ...common sense tells me if it shoots low bend the site's up more huh ...and if you were to get peppered with 7 shots close range you would turn tail and run ; if you had common sense ; or did it fall on your own short comings as the root of the problem as for me i loved it
I never said I hated the gun on the contrary I actually stated it was one of my favorite revolvers of all time. If you tune into some of our other videos, you will see me hitting steel plates with it at fairly long distances. Now as a self-defense weapon. While yes it could deter somebody. I would much rather have something in at least 36 caliber at that time. Which Smith and Wesson would eventually get too and No, you cannot bend the site on one of these guns because if you try to bend the site up anymore, you will be bending up. The cylinder stop which will cause the revolver to stop working, not only that It is an original and I don't want to break anything
Love the music!

lol yeah if your a s&w fan you really do have to have one.
Was looking on UA-cam to find videos on the S&W model 1 and found your channel. This is a very informative video and you have a new subscriber. 👍
"throughout the entire history of the firm the name of Smith & Wesson has stood for highest quality." - Elmer Keith, "Sixguns"
Absolutely
A great man who wrote a great book talking about a great line of Handguns

Good job! Yeah, I want a model 1 or 1/2....they just look really neat.
they are pretty cool we have a video coming up on the 1 1/12 soon
Smith&Wesson all the way!!!
"You want a real gun get a colt" more accurate words have never been spoken
@Sam Colt
Oh mamma!
S&W WAS A FINE GUN
You guys are doing a great job , keep on going. Get her done.
Thank you! Will do!
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
It's too bad Uberti doesnt reproduce the Model 1 and Model 2.
I know I'd buy a model 1 replica...
That little pistol has grown on me.

I'm a revolver guy S&W is my favorite brand. I have the lucky of own some revolvers from S&W. Awesome video I'm glad to find this channel 👌👍 +1 sub
thank you
I was lucky enough to stumble upon a No.1 First issue recently. It cost me a pretty penny but I got it.
they are a fun piece of history

Hit like right as you said it! 😂

TRY THE COLT ROOT PISTOL 28 CAL. WAS NOT VERY POWERFUL EITHER.
Time travelling lefty; no you can’t shoot me I’m going to the…
Masked villain: gun go pew
🤣
Very interesting, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
thank you .
You are welcome!
Have you heard about french man Flobert who invented 6mm rimfire round in 1845 ?
The 6mm Flobert cartridge was developed in 1887 and wasn't cataloged until 1888 it was designed to be a less powerful 22 short.
@@Real11BangBang Hi, in the book I'm reading, 22LR was developed in 1887 ;) weard, I guess someone is trying to teach "critical caliber theory" ;))
@@Real11BangBang I have a 4 MM Fobert with ammunition. There's a hundred in a very small can shaped a little larger than a shoe shine polish container.
We think of 22LR as weak, 22 short as very weak, and yours is loaded with blackpowder…I think it is about right for rats. Great video. Thanks.
You mentioned at one point that those Smith and Wessons were made in Springfield, Connecticut. Wasn't it Springfield Mass. ?
I can't remember. It's been a while since I made this video but if I did you are correct I must have gotten it mixed up with one of our colt videos
HEY THE SMITH AND WESSON WAS A GREAT GUN.
Great video, not a gun many people get to see fired thanks for sharing
Thank you I'm glad you liked it

Lol
Pinfire would like to have a talk about that first self contained metalic cartridge thing
THE PIN FIRE WAS TRASH
Smith and wesson is a good stock. The Smith family Is pretty popular when it comes to buisness.

We owe an amazing debt of gratitude to Sam Colt Dan Wesson and Horitz Smith
yes we do
I have a model 1 s&w but the barrel is longer and the caliber is bigger than .22. Not sure when it is from.
Geez, i should have watched the video to the end before commenting 🤦. What I have is probably a model 2...
We have a video on the Smith& Wesson model 2 and also on the Smith& Wesson model one and a half. Probably one of those two
Very good!
Thanks!
Is three grains of 4f BP more powerful than 3 gr. Of smokeless
It allows you to fit the powder into the cartridge. A little better is pretty much it
What about the Wesson that started with H&R
That would be Frank Wesson, Daniel Wesson's brother
In modern times I’ll take a S&W 686 over a Colt Python.
When you put 3 grain 4 f powder in it does it fill to the top of cartridge, is that smokeless powder
it is ffffg black powder and yes that is filling all the way to the top of the case
@@Real11BangBang so how come if you use smokeless for the same pressure it doesn't fill to top, so how does all the powder burn properly
because 3 grains of smokless would blow this little gun to pieces
O the old model 1. The best long distant Buffalo gun. The worst part is the overpowering recoil. 😉
It takes a real man to handle that recoil
@Sam Colt lol it's a joke.
important disclaimer rim fire was not the first successful metalic cartige the pin fire came first ad whas verypopular just not in the usa.
👌👌👌👌
I wish we could use .22 blank for caps
Is that regular 22 brass
22 short brass

Also that revolver was a good weapon to shoot rats, even in the house.
lol like john wayne said i got a rat write written for a rat
Who was smith
Horace Smith was one of the co-founders of Smith& Wesson. He got to start at the Springfield Arsenal

Modern 22 short is a lot more powerful.
czechoslovakian LOL
CZ makes some of the best guns in the world. Accuracy and dependability. At least a gun company bought them instead of an investment group.
Whats wrong with that?
