Rather than scaphoid fracture this sounds like scapholunate inastability. Anabolics won't help repair the ligament and the hand surgeon would be correct in rehab being the most efficacious. It sounds like the patient had a positive Watson's Test, which what the clunk and pain was caused by. Probably the surgeon doesn't want to operate because this is a highly active patient and some of the operative treatments would limit his or her activity level.

I’m a 26 year old male living in the UK recently had a cast removed for a scaphoid fracture didn’t have the cast on first week of injury as it was missed. Didn’t require surgery when it was found had cast on 6 weeks and now at 6 weeks removed still causing problems more so in the thumb area can’t train can’t hit or block 🙄 my mobility has slowly came back but still causing problems and pain when in certain positions (using thumb everytime) (hyperextending hand) hurts around snuffbox area I believe?? Could be wrong I’m no doctor or sports scientist haha is this video about a similar injury? Or would it be completely different in my circumstances thanks a lot for your videos.
Should have got the surgery. Im dealing with it currently. I didnt have to get the surgery but said i will have a faster healing time and more of a chance for the scaphoid to heal without issues. Try bpc 157 and tb 500 injections in the injury area and maybe some growth
