Try adding more products to smooth down the hair, braiding slower or making sure braiding hair is not knotting up on you. Those were some of the problems I use to have. and sometimes I would have to just simply restart the braid all together. I would rather spend more time on the hairstyles and have them come out neatly than getting finished quickly. These are just somethings that I had issues with.
If you notice, when adding the hair always keep the other side down with a finger so it doesn't move. Try holding the hair tighter and always use ur fingers to help you, don't use the palm of ur hand.

I would add parting to extension hair ratio to what these ladies have said. Sometimes you have to part a little bit smaller than what you would think for braids to turn out the exact size you want them. When doing feed in braids have the strands for at least 5 braids already preseparated so as not to stop your flow. Keep it under 7 strands unless you want the cornrow to get extremely big. Also hair extension quality. Pricier doesn't always mean better. I like to try different brands out on my mannequin before putting on anyone's head to see how it performs. Of course you can't control what hair the client brings you🤷🏾♀️ Practice, practice, practice and practice. Though it's a bit different on your own head, the concepts and techniques still apply. I know you know some people who need their hair done who are willing to allow you to braid them up for an abbreviated price not free. Your time is worth something.

When you dipped the hair in hot water, do you dip the curly hair or no?? Thanks in advance and thanks for sharing your work. Work is beautiful as usual.
U dont fil the hair it will pull all the curls out. U can burn the ends of the braid hair or apply a dot of nail glue to the end of each braid to seal. Dont fil. You'll end up with a hot mess.
