- Something different. I spent weeks exploring the surreal atmosphere along the USA/Mexico border region and making music along the way on a @PolyendTracker Mini prototype. @VenusTheory came along for much of the ride, keep an eye out for his video!

I'll never forgive you for how amazing those drone shots are. Let's pack our bags and do it again sometime!
I love each of you separately, but I love your creative interplay even more. Can we get a team up EP, perhaps?
You've got a point! Sick drone shots.
Ha, I did love those comments in the Q&A. BJ stitched you up.
I sure hope that you'll do it again!
Please do, I already long for a second movie
I live just up from the border. You’ve done a wonderful job of capturing this odd vibe.
You seem to have a knack for blending evocative imagery with beautiful, meaningful music. Good things are possible, even now.
So alien, yet calming. So glitchy, yet lush. So abandoned, yet beautiful. These images tell thousands of stories. The music translates the emotions well. Love it.
That wall looks scary, though. Seems that history truly does keep repeating itself.
Anyway, thank you for sharing this. Can't stop listening to it.
Man... This music is so beautiful, really inspiring, probably will by the thing see what I can do with it 🙂 thanks for the music and videos. You are amazing 🙏🏽🍻
Weird - or maybe not - how music sets the mood. I just jammed along to your neat video with a Lyra-8 and transformed it into a bleak, post apocalyptic world. The absence of people helps there.
thanks
Wow, just wow! Also, the drone shots were superb!
I started playing this, then I got distracted around 6 minutes in. At 7 minutes in, I thought "what awesome spotifiy song is this? !?"
Love the jazzy seventh chords harmonies at the start, and the compositional musicianship overall. I've been enjoying the synth breakdowns as well, now even makes more sense to get synth tips form someone who can some arrange some shit!
This video is super inspiring to me from a videography perspective. I’ve owned a gimbal for my a6400 for years and I’ve always thought it would be fun to get b-roll for my synthesizer videos, but I’ve just never done it. But this video really demonstrates how effective this style of presentation can be!
Came here for a product demonstration and left actually feeling something in my heart. The last part of this very moving!
I would love to hear more about your experience with the Tracker Mini.
hey benn, why don't you do more travel stuff like this?
what i think is one of your best gifts, is your ability to translate emotions in audio and visual.
Thank you! The answer is money. 😅
@@BennJordan you must have a trick upon your sleeve, an old friend here or there, more companies willing to help, dji, sony, nikon, akai etc. that shot at 7:03 with the kids slide. and the way you made it almost asmr, you could feel the air almost. maybe some contacts in the movie business as cinematographer? idk. hope it works..
and thank you
@@BennJordan or maybe with other musicians as an combined tour... maybe with richard devine, ttv, and machinedrum.
@@michel5148but I think what makes his work unique is not being associated with any of these brands. Very few people on UA-cam are able to speak frankly about things like Benn does exactly because they chose to partner with companies like the ones you mentioned. It's a hard choice he made, but I honestly think it's the main reason that makes him one of the best people in this platform.
Dude how on earth is music like this even made!
so this is where the moral apocalypse has already happened. we have far too many places like this in our world, it’s not ok.
Its amazing . keep drugs and illegals out🙌🙌🙌
Accidentally had this on 0.75, then tried it at 0.5. Half speed is best speed?
The music in this really blew me away. I missed the premiere, but man...great work! 👏😎
I'm just getting into Renoise. This inspired me to experiment playing my own instruments instead of the usual sample collection tracker approach
Sampling yourself playing is one of the best things ever imo
Only a minute in but definitely getting Squarepusher vibes.
This is great. Nice shots too.
I wanna know more about these places you got the shots from
All I can think with that first part is wii vibes.Very nice. 👍
What happened there? Why no more people?
I really love exploring that part of the country and I'm a big fan of your recorded work. Both together is pretty fantastic
Driving through the set of Better Call Saul?
Loved it. Reminds me about Squarepusher at his creativity peaks.
nice video and cool music
That comment by Venus Theory was made in an obvious state of shock. That thing is like Richard Serra finally got his big chance. Everyone should make a pilgrimage there just to piss on it. Some brilliant visual ideas. I hope you had fun
Very nice, reminded me of Koyanisqaatsi. Was that the Salton Sea toward the end? I think I recognized some of the art and the never-finished residential development.
Great music, nice editing.
I'm an enthusiastic subscriber. I've been waiting for this video to appear in my feed. I had to seek it out because it wasn't there. Road Trip Shadow Banned? Probably not.
The music, the imagery, all so very inspirational. Thank you.
Album. When?
The more I listen to this tracks the more I like then, it is so awesome, really.
Ben (or any other Polyend tracker user) I do have a question, the fact that the device can only work at 18/44.1 is it enough compares to master album quality? Or you lack depth of bass and so? Thanks
Great stuff! Can you elaborate on where you got the samples? Were they "found" along the trip?
Some where found, some intentionally made (like the string instruments), some were brought with on an SD card (like snares and the like).
Beautiful video. Love the 3:05-3:42 music.
And those drone shots are really fantastic. Ím so happy to see them used for their initally intended purpose.
dope!
What is that guitar-like instrument at the end? Really amazing, super inspiring composition and filming, made my day. Thanks.
Sad abandoned human waste, nicely contrasted with natural untouched nature. And to end it all with the freaking wall. Argh. Great job Ben.
So nice to see you focus om what is your mastery and you excel at. Maybe you could have put that talking at the end where your tesla daw belongs. This was a beautiful piece, showing, generating questions and answers. Again stating your agenda and what this was about so every idiot gets it in a way ruined it. I felt what cameron was saying. Until he said it. Be an artist. Thats enough. Your art is great.
I love the places you got the footage from, bloody amazing! and the tunes! Where are these locations?
These videos are beautiful
Beautiful, Benn
That was interesting
Good video and music ,keep up the great work.
Characterful tape flutter.
The guitar bit in the end is sooo nice
The guitar song around 6:10 is magical. Is that really made on the Tracker? Seems a bit too good to be true! 😮
Your answer is at the end of the video…
Beautiful music!!
love it!
7:05 Spirited Away, train station vibes here.
There's more deteriorating real estate than there are homeless people
4:41 I hope you got a good deal on that minimalist airbnb.
Where in the name of arse are these places featured in the film!!
That bit 6 mins in giving me f*cking chills Jesus
Sounds terrific! Is the post-production all 'in-house' or 'in-tracker-mini,' or did you have to do some touch-ups/additional post stuff?
Well, shit... I guess I should have finished the video before asking my question... cool cool...cool. Thanks for posting the music, I've been looking forward to hearing what you would come up with since you mentioned it in the initial Tracker Mini vid.
the last somg is such a beauty
That reverb is lush.
That was my thought too. Anyone know if this is the built-in reverb, or post processing?
@@marshallcooper4401 "All music written, recorded, and produced entirely on a Polyend Tracker Mini prototype". Stunning. Guess I'll be selling a few pieces to get one of these, then...
Hauntingly beautiful desolation
You should do another Channel witch called "LOST PLACES in southern USA "and of course some music...;)
Wow I really enjoyed that.
I'd say these are your best vids - documenting the decaying corners of America, to a positive soundtrack
To make things clear, I commented to you both with the same comment.
It is astonishing to see how 2 guys take some Thelma & Louise-like road trip and pleasure us with two completely different accounts of said roadtrip. As I follow both and "now" how both of you are opposites in many ways, I will not compare both videos. Albeit I must say both videos touched me in different ways and the experience watching your different videos enrichened me in multiple ways,
So thank your Cameron & Benn for not only coming back in one piece but also, and mostly, for sharing your experience in a compelling and immersive way.
Awesome!!! I don’t know how this doesn’t have millions of views, as a Texan this is really calming to watch, so homey but like experiencing what’s left of humanity after everyone disappeared, spectacular work!
Polyend has made some amazing and innovative gear, and some discount it because they cannot grasp it...One of the best purchases i made, getting the Tracker...Now we have something even more portable...
Love it! Tunes and drone work very cool. You found some good bandos, FPV pilots love that stuff to fly around.
nice work! would love to see a session breakdown for that first song, i’ve never been so inspired to pick up my Tracker again.
really intrigued by the chords and lead melody in particular. all of that was manually programmed in the tracker? mind blown.
That's what happens when you put barriers up, I bet it doesn't look much different along the Palestinian/Israeli Border! Great setting for a Zombie apocalypse Film. Onto the Mini Tracker :- I had the OG Tracker when it came out and I found it too limiting, mono only was my main gripe and i just didn't gel with it. BUT the mini looks more my thing, I think I will wait until its been out a while this time, let the excitement die down, and maybe even wait until the first update comes out and we get some sober views on how good it is, Then decide whether to buy one( Fuck it, I,m gonna put in a pre order Now🤣🤣🤣🤣😎😎)
I wish I could get into the tracker workflow , I have so much invested in my current workflow though haha
A contemporary 'Buena Vista Social Club'.
Brilliant. Every piece of the whole carried the others along for such a beautiful and haunting story. Great work!
This video feels like vacation! I'm sure it's been a lot of work to make, but it's easy to ignore with such a pleasant soundtrack going.
that was nice
was in the zone with this, very nice musics, only ruined by adverts coming in. Any way to make them happen only at the start or end? Takes away from the experience that's all
Done.
Good man! I especially enjoyed the glitchy squarepusher-esque track at the start. Great jobby ☺️
Yessss vibess
I love it all but holy fuck that acoustic track
That switch up at 1:45 wowie zowie
lovely video all around
You just blew my mind. Thank you for creating and sharing!!!
Impactful video essay. Would be hard pressed to better state the tragic stupidity and waste of the border wall.
Great work! I was looking forward to this video after the previous one with the Polyend Play!
Such a beautiful video
This is A+ work here. The music and the fantasic imagery. Just so well done. Bravo.
Strangely nostalgic
Everything stops when the cop rolls by. Nice touch.
Looking forward to watch more of your works, the not common approach, love it.
I always been amazed by how powerful your guitar segments are (I know it's not called a guitar but I don't remember the exact name, though I know you said several times in your videos). They make my brain shut up completely, and just listen
the ronroco
Life really is brutally beautiful. Great work. Video and music fit so well
This kind of music is up my alley. Nice.
love the music and the travel experience
I can't think if anything but beautiful.😂
awesome shots. Really great footage to the music.
Well it just slaps! I need to practice more with my tracker 😮
❤❤❤
cool
Absolutely captivating
Sweet track Benn! How great are trackers? I totally love the micro control you have over every note. You can never find that in any DAW except the much underrated and genius Renoise. Keep up the great work!
This is a really great track and video, thanks.
Love the music... More of this please.
:)
Thats fantastic ! Nice work
