    Tàtàṣhé (Bell pepper) is Yoruba, literally meaning mild hot. The Hausas phonetic corrupted it to Tatashi. The Hausa word for bell pepper is Barkono ja. Madam you should know that as you are from the North and you speak Hausa.
    Well, maybe you don't understand Yoruba to understand that most Yoruba words are toner as much as expressive. Just as Cayenne pepper is called "Shombo" (meaning elongate in Yoruba) as the cayenne appears elongated in look.
