when you're literally only watching this because your history teacher assigned you work since school shut down edit: tf this have 200 likes for,, lmfao
We all know that those of us with a keen interest in medieval England, chose to watch this…. We’re not all stupid school kids who for some reason think knowledge is socially unaccepted.
The creator: *gasp* loads of people like historical things!!! The viewers: why did my history teachers tell me to watch it? The history teachers: muhahaha
I agree, the illusion of freedom we have is a powerful one though it can be overturned. To be fair though we do enjoy a much richer ability to move around socially than before in certain lands.
Are we all in the same school or what? My history teacher put a link to this in our class work and I am not happy about this! Jeez where do they even find these videos.
this is brilliant, I am doing a project on medival england and everyday life and this gave me all the information I could possibly need on towns, it does take initiative and common sense to understand it though.
Excellent historical analysis of the how the feudal system would come to an end and be replaced by a form of capitalism - although of course I am jumping the gun by a long way. I get the impression that there is more to come.
It’s so quirky and funny that it was illegal to move outside your village.. but if you managed to do so and hid away from a year specially, they’re like “ok at that point in time, you deserve to be free! Go be free!” 😂🥳 I know that towns like 95% of the time did have walls, and whenever something had walls it was a really a hassle to enforce anything upon, and I can imagine that you would have a great deal of people trying to escape, and it’s much easier to just make a way to legalize it instead but still trying to have some sort of deterrence. Still a fun solution!
What's wrong with this documentary? I"m watching it on my own without any teachers assigning it to me. The only thing that bothers me is that it tries to be simple for the kids, is there anything I can watch that is a deeper dive?
Herefordshire is an old English county. It still retains the practise of 'sin eating' in deep rural pockets. This is a where upon a death in the community, another appointed villager serving term as nominated sineater (identity kept from other villagers) arrives at the door of the deceased in hooded garb and bread is placed upon the chest of the deceased. The sineater then consumes the bread to eat the sin of the one passed. Ledbury is a wonderful town for a photo opportunity, but wise to move on....... The local governance in real power remains ancient and un politically correct. Good day Sir.
I'm sorry but you've lost me - there's way too much of you and not near enough visuals of these amazing towns and places. This is common nowadays with presenters. I wish they'd stay behind the camera!

Lets not act like we have a chance to do what we want. We are all captives of heavy capitalism and money. We are all being pushed towards something

Demetri Loizou maybe you'll get good marks, modern day people can never understand mediaeval life.
