There was hype surrounding Frankie's arrival and I must say, I am not disappointed. I love the dynamic between her, Ben and Callum already and she will definitely be a guiding force for Ben during his struggle with hearing. As for Phil, no comment, lol. Well, everyone and everything before his own son.
Imagine being caught shoplifting by a random tall stranger who turns out to be a copper, having a friendly chat based on him knowing a bit of sign language and being a genuinely nice guy, almost immediately getting asked if you could come and talk some sense into his recently deaf boyfriend, meeting said boyfriend who is short, ill and grumpy, al in the same day.
This scene with Frankie is what I’ve been waiting for for so long for this storyline. Not the gangster shit, which we are gonna get a lot of in the next 2 weeks especially with Ben’s POV episode.
Ben need an operation for his hearing and a shrink to deal with his daddy issues. Callum is so protective and deadly romantic. Flowers and smiling face on an egg- So sweet. Hope he doesn´t get tired of Ben´s attitude
I just met Frankie and I already love her. She has a bit of an edge but I can already tell there is more to her than meets the eye. Eastenders puts their female characters front and center. They're not just someones wife or girlfriend. They don't have to look a certain way or be a certain age. I love that. This character is another example of this and will make a great addition to the show.
I'm already starting to learn sign language from Eastenders, I'm loving the storyline. I've always wanted to learn but I've never gotten round to it. This is a perfect oppertunity for people like myself to learn a new form of communication.

Omg ben in the background of that Lola and Peter scene, he saw everything and I think he knows whsts up. Also Callum signing always melts my heart, hes so sweet when he's communicating with ben. I really do hate that Ben feels like he needs to do this job for Phil just so he can prove himself, I wish that he'd just let Phil go and I think that something bad might happen to Ben during the job

Frankie puts a slap onto what Ben said in the operation room ("I don't want to put my life on hold for some poxy-sniffles!") when she emphasised that life goes on, DEAF OR HEARING. What's putting his life on hold is his toxic thirst for appreciation from Phil.
I completely understand Ben's frustration and fear. I'm hearing impaired and when I got as a kid the diagnosis that I will never hear normal and can become completely deaf I was devastated. I got so many surgery but the doctors couldn't fix my ears anymore. I was broken and I believe that for a long time. Actually I begged my mom for another operations even I know the high risk to become completely deaf. Now I'm in university and still struggle with the feeling of being broken. So yes I understand why Ben behaves like that way. Also I love Max's acting, he is amazing and lots of love for Frankie^^.

Of course being a jerk is still not okay, but I think some people don't look deeper into the storyline to understand the real struggle behind it and thats why I shared my own story. I mean it's a soap opera but deaf people are real and maybe it help to understand their problems better and why people should be patiently with them. Until finally it’s too late, and we finally realize the things we are chasing(Phil’s proud of him) is not worth it, and the things we take for granted(callum) we lose them for good because we don’t cherish them!! Ben just doesn’t learn from his mistakes at all!!!

Phil has dug his claws into Ben's self esteem, especially damaging if it's a father figure. Only thing that really works is disconnect from such people, not east if you're this far in.
It's extreme, but there are cases like this where it's the only way, especially when it's become criminal. Phil is absolute trash, that almost made Ben (and others) kill someone, put many people in danger and indirectly caused death.
