Thank you so much for the suggestion! While I would, of course, much prefer to be able to use it like a standard book, at least if I do this I won't waste half the pad. You are awesome! :)
I use the pen n gear as an everyday jotter and I love it! I however didn’t want the spiral binding scratching up my leather planner covers, so what I did is that i created a simple traveler’s notebook cover using one sheet of black leather from michaels. I punched holes in it and added strings. I love it!! And i love that little notebook. And i do use a kaweco sport w it! I have several.
I’ve been using Pen & Gear for years. I recently have gotten back into fountain pens and was concerned about the paper. So far no issues. I do my Morning Pages and Evening Reflections with a pair of Lamys. I have been using Diamine Red Dragon and Ox Blood with no issues. I also hate spiral bound notebooks.
It's really so nice to know there's a reliable, fountain pen friendly budget pad that we can pick up just for random notes and whatnot. Here's hoping they never change the paper!
I love the Pen and Gear memo book. I am left-handed so I write on the left side of the book, then flip it over the use the other side. I am practicing with my right hand, but it will be a while before I can do so with any speed. I had surgery on my left hand a while ago and realized I needed to be able to write with both hands. Great informative video !
Thanks so much for watching! If you like the Pen and Gear memo books, you might also like the Staples brand mini steno pads. I've been trying them out for the last couple months, and I really like them. Very fountain pen friendly, and super budget friendly. A pack of five is less than $5 at my local shop.
I'm so sorry you're running into problems! I haven't had troubles with the notebooks shown as long as the paper is manufactured in India, but there could be a lot of factors causing the issue for you - from the specific ink to the broadness of your pen's nib. If you want to try another budget notebook, I've been really enjoying the mini steno pads from Staples lately.
@@snarkywordsworth XD thanks for the empathy but no need to be sorry about this, I didn’t give huge anticipation on these budget notebooks at the beginning anyway
Thanks, that was very informative! I was a little unclear at the end, was the same 4x6 pad available as a top spiral bound or were you referring to a different size? 🤔

For scrappy note spiral: use right sides…get to end…flip upside down & use right sides backwards! :)

@@snarkywordsworth LOVE your videos. You’ve sparked many inspirations (& purchases) for me!!!

The Pen+Gear paper really is shockingly good! And that sounds like a perfect way to protect your other covers. Thanks so much for watching.

Their #2 pencils are good as well. Get the ones made in India.
.99 cents for 24.
Thank you for the heads up! I'm always looking for pencils to try, and I've not tried the Pen + Gear ones, yet.
I have notebook from the same brand, large problem on ink bleeding through paper with LAMY T10 😢😢😢

The top spiral book I'm thinking of is a 3x5", but there's also a 6x9" is you want something a little bigger. Thanks so much for watching!!
