    The best mods I did on my plane was fuel injection, and electronic ignition. There's a reason the automotive world quit using carburetors and magnetos years ago. In their quest for safety the FAA has caused the aviation world to get stuck in the past and in my opinion kept a safer technology from being used. Thank goodness for experimental airplanes. I will caution you to watch your temperatures. CHT and EGT sensors for every cylinder is a must have when you do these mods.

    Amazing airplane Todd. Of course we were expecting nothing less. Bummer about having to deal with fuel leaks on something that's so expensive in the first place . I like the philosophy of keeping it light. I'm curious about the weight difference between your firewall forward set up and Hal's with the new Rotax. It's cool to see the progression with performance. Especially with something that is already simply badass! Goodluck man and looking forward for the next video.

    Curious on why the mismatch Black Max masters with the Beringer brakes?

    • @GravityKnightFlying
      @GravityKnightFlying  Годину тому +1

      @@BowenAero it seemed like there was an issue getting master’s short enough from beringer to fit in there… we laid the pedals forward to make more leg room for me being 6’4”. i may be remembering wrong… but the only masters I remember finding that would fit other than these are groves. Clint had these on hand so we used them

    Did you purchase or fabricate your gap seals? Did you consider the MATCO parking brake valve? It works with just one cable pull that you could place somewhere more accessible like your panel.

    • @GravityKnightFlying
      @GravityKnightFlying  58 хвилин тому

      @@wadestoelting5942 good question-matco valve was out of stock when i bought these. I had the matco the 6 and 7 and it gave me issues on both planes. I hope these do better!
      I actually bought the gap seals aircraft spruce sells… fit decent and worked out pretty well

    When you first announced you were doing this I remember thinking that you were going to miss the turbo SO badly.
    I don't think I had any idea how capable the BLT really would be. That slow approach, landing and freaking short stop was amazing at 7,000'. The takeoffs seem to be just as good. Once you have the fuel injection system dialed in, I may have to take back every thought I had about the turbo!
    You've come a long way brother!

    Hay Brother, we really need to find a better place 4 the camera! so we can see what YOU are seeing! Please!
    when you put it in the middle it helped a bunch. I'm not bitchen , just want to see it all like you do.

    I have the same Whirlwind prop and engine (injected). What pitch are you running and what's your static RPM? Just curious. Great airplane. Have fun and stay safe.

      @@cubman2711 i used a prop gauge from a diff ww prop.. so my numbers prop arent the same. It makes about 2410-2420 both statically and in a fairly steep climb at 7-8000ft altitude. Thank you!!

    Bummer about cowl re-design, does yours have the same resin that Hal had? If so, is this a chance, not just for a new shape but also new chemistry?
