    Shame you missed the concept of induction cooking comparisons. induction cooking is the reaction between a coil and the ferrous material ie A POT. that fact that you did not use the same ferrous material says you do not understand the concept :( I love to see an apples for apples comparison.

    Another good test would be testing different pans on the one cooker to see current draw ect, as I know different pans can give different results on a 240v induction top

      Hence the tests are not anywhere near accurate since they are doing comparisons with an Aluminium pan (with a small steel insert) and a Stainless Pan (less good than a proper steel pan/pot). My experience is some pans are very good and others are not.

    Great test, one thing I've discovered, different pans have different thickness base which makes a difference to how they heat up and how they hold their heat (the cycling in and out)
    I notice you were using different pans so would not be comparing apples to apples
    Sorry
    I have IKEA induction cooktops, they are cheap and have heat settings 1 to 9, very basic, but easy and they just work, like one of those you had
    Keep up the good work, bring on some more y62 trips please

    I really appreciate this video. I currently have a Rivian R1S and it has awesome built in 110W outlets, so looking for some induction options. It’s crazy how “little” of the propulsion battery is used when cooking. It takes a lot more to move the vehicle than it does to warm food. Love your fridge set up too.

    Good job & great vid guy’s. I think you should do ur comparison using the same type frypan and you should measure the total watts used by each induction top for a more accurate picture of which is more efficient. Watching amps vs volts is good for a quick picture, but total watts used is a common medium.
    The time should also be measured against each unit to cook a similar portion each, & this will probably vary according to cooking styles & temps used as well. It was good to see a comparison of 4 induction cookers & how they perform. Thanks

  • @andrewlund3886
    @andrewlund3886 Рік тому +5

    Can’t help but notice why you are talking about the Westinghouse pulsing on and off, the video shows the safiery doing the exact same towards the end. I’ve also noticed over the years that different pans make a difference to heat and power output of the cooktop

  • @placestosea

    interesting you mention levelling. after using an induction for years, having a portable unit ( not fixed) allows us to position it so its level and totally away from the vehicle, so the pan doesn't slide off and cooking splatter/smoke is less of an issue.

      hi if you compare costs the induction is nuts over the rainbow but when you are on the road ,comfort and convenience comes first
      last year in fall where at 1900 m in the mountains for 5 days and when cooking we need to have 3 bottles of butane to switch between because they get frozen when in use and the food was not so great because of that ``intermitent cooking``

    The different pans make a huge difference too. You will also find the inductions coils of the different stoves are the most important factor. If it is only a 6” coil, it could buckle your pans, as the centre heats up much quicker than the rest of the pan. That is why your steak will always brown in the centre of the pan and not to the side of the pan.

    Not sure how much it matters, but my Westinghouse unit has a warning label that states NOT to use it on a metal surface.

    • @yeahbutnah1
      @yeahbutnah1 Рік тому +3

      The reason for that is because the magnetic field generated to heat the pan can be dissipated to a (Steel) surface below it, causing the metal surface to also be heated, SOME stainless steel benchtops would be ok, but others would not, most of the portable units should sit tall enough to be ok, but best is to place them on top of a cutting board or something similar.

    Yeah no. You guys should have used, identical matching, saucepans. You didn't. So? I'm really not certain what you were trying to demonstrate here? Okay. You can cook with induction, cook tops. Congratulations.
    I have a pair of those, NUWAVE's. I bought about 10 years ago. Those, have been out a while. I like their features. I like their more compact footprint. I don't need pretty, rectangular cooktop. The saucepans are round! And so round, makes more sense. Why would you put a, round saucepan on a square Cooktop? Does that make it look better? Yeah no. It does not.
    And so when it comes to a, Motorhome. I don't think it's a good idea. To have live flame. Inside a largely, wooden and plastic constructed motor home. As they get very flammable. And there is no flame. With an introduction cooktop. It is just far safer. Without propane onboard. I don't particularly care for, propane. It's a gigantic bomb. And too many go up in flames.
    I've been an, Electronic Technician, for over 5 decades. I, deal in, Electricity. Not flames. Flames are for the, Barbecue. Outside the vehicle. We use electricity. Inside the vehicle. My water is heated with electricity. My heat and air conditioning are from electricity. And rays of the sun are free. Propane is from dead dinosaurs again. Even if it burns clean. It's still burning. It's still producing carbon dioxide. For three solar electricity is better. And storage gizmos called batteries. Of which we have a wide variety to choose from. From the oldest lead acid. To the newest lithium iron phosphate. And everything in between. Right on the Nickel. Without much Carbon and Zinc. And only some Cadmium if you want to poison somebody. Lithium if you are, Schizophrenic. Bipolar or what ever. Solar if you are smart. As there is a lot of, Property on top of the roofs of Motorhomes. For solar. Along with additional portable panels. And the rays are all free. From fusion power. One thing we don't have to pay for. And knowing that. Why would you use anything else? You save the planet with solar. Not with propane. Not with Lithium. We have to do better than this.
    And so you guys can do, Culinary Enhanced, Tailgate Parties. Without burning down your cars. Congratulations. Guinness, is good for you. It worked. But it's not beer. And it's warm. I don't know what's wrong with you guys? Nobody knows what a cold beer is. Except in the USA. Designed for hot weather desert, consumption. Thick brown warm beer is not. I mean come on guys? You don't have much in the way of hot weather in England. What do you guys know about cold beer? Nothing!
    So I don't think much of guys who drink warm beer. Warm thick, brown soupy beer. Yeah that's not beer. Though it might be beer fit for a, Queen? But she is dead. And Charlie's, Dick is going to fall off soon. So much for the Playboy, Princely King. And marriage trashing, Camilla. What a nice black widow she is. How can, Billy and Harry, even look at her? She's the reason, their mother is dead. And what do you say to that douche bag? Queen consort? Really? Hey lady you killed our mother! That's what they should say to her. And how do you get her out of the Palace? She does not belong there. King daddy is nuts. The prostate cancer has gotten to his brain. Which he never had to begin with. Billy, need to step up. And say it... look here dad. I'm not going to wait for you to get as old as grandma before I take over. You're done. It's my turn now. Grandma made you wait, too long. That's when Billy needs to do. Or hand it off to Harry. Which Billy will never do. Billy is just as screwed up as daddy. Billy will crash England. And he'll end up stepping down. Leaving a void.
    And soon England will, fall. They have become fragmented. They want kings and queens that serve, no purpose. Time to move forward in time. One more time. And bye-bye Church of England. Hello modern freedom fighters. Nobody needs to be ruled by religion anymore. It doesn't work in a modern society. As we have science, psychology and mathematics. The new trifecta. To run with.
    As we will all have to come together. To stop Russia. To stop China. To stop North Korea. To stop Congo. To stop Haiti. To stop Venezuela. To stop Brazil. We have a lot to keep us occupied. And keep them, occupied.
    Since Donnie has opened up the floodgates. For all the bad boys around the world. To be running off the rails like Donnie. And they do not know what they are about to receive. Truncation of brain. Their brains will be removed. Forcefully. They don't know how to use them anyhow. We will study them. To see what went wrong. It's called an autopsy. And it must be performed on all of these Dictators. So we will have to round them up. And gas them. Neutralize them. Permanently. And study their brain matter. For years to come. When to determine what went wrong. And why some Homo sapiens insist on being Dictators? We will have to dissect their brains. Posthaste.
    The world is getting smaller. And we need to be done with crazed Dictators. They will have to be evicted, from planet Earth.
