fellowsrj Hi sorry i don't want to get your hopes up too much. we are only going to cover a few of the most common jobs to do on the transfer box. Eventually the whole subject may take some time to film and upload due to the variety of differences between the boxes. Saying that other than the video we uploaded last night there is 2 more to come which covers 50% over the overhaul.
Very helpful. I've a couple of gaskets need replacing and I'm hoping I can do it without removing the case. Thanks for the video. Gives me some insight for the task ahead.

Sad but true... I'm actually quite into this series ... I've never bothered messing with the LT230 box ... I've just replaced them as required or dropped them off to the gearbox specialist and waited for the phone call ... I might actually have a stab at this ... don't miss the finer detail will you fella... ;0)
Matt Allen finer details? Yup, that where we like to go,............ Well that will take time to build up a full picture that is why I am going to cover the input gear first then keep going back to the subject as we get interesting bits to cover..
***** Oh I'm sure you'll cover it all very well as you have with so many areas in the past. I was rather enjoying the electrical side of things in fact... Folk I know may well be surprised if they read this! lol
Matt Allen Hoping the details is sufficient. I am trying not to go too in depth with parts acquisition because of the headache of variant but we will do our best.
***** It's spot on chap ... really enjoyed that new video ... recommedation for a supplier of a dti wouldn't go amiss .. I quite fancy a go as I'm due to rebuild the 110 at the end of the month.
Now that is something i cannot do however a good quality Dti is worth getting
Can I take the gears out of a lt230 Defender box, and put them in a 2004 discovery 2 lt230. The 04 has some sensors the 1.6 doesn't have?
Interesting video. Can you do a stripdown and rebuild of a LT 76? I would appreciate it.

***** series 2 and 2a as 1 and 2 un synchronised , series 3 has the version i am on about as that is the full synchronised one.
I also would like this if you can do this.
Arjan Wilbie yes I remember that particular gearbox. I'll see if i can get hold of one.
***** i have one in bits for donor purpose and one complete for a rebuild. I have the bearing kit and seal kit. Ready when you are :)
