Tell your dad he has done a fantastic job on the sill. His skills are second to none!! Really gives me inspiration to tinker with my cars. Hope to see you both at Rustival 2.
I would like to say something nice - Your dad always does a good job with mechanicals, and is always entertaining ! The welding was pretty decent too. 👍😁
Hi Jon and Pete a great video and well done Pete I think that’s a really good job done and the finish is a lot better than many body shops put out - the Peugeot lives!! 🇫🇷🇫🇷
Your Dad always puts a smile on my face. So true about modern alloys, they’re crap! The cars that I’ve owned from the 90’s and early 2000’s never had any corrosion on the alloys, even at 10-15 years old! Everything I’ve owned in the last 5 years have required alloy refurbs.
Long live the Peugeot! However if he does ever decide to chsnge it think about a Mk4 Mondeo 2l diesel. Huge car, very cheap to buy now, very economical and very reliable. They drive nicely too. After 12 years and 200k miles with mine it is without doubt the best car ive ever had.
I have a titanium x buisness edition hatchback mondeo they are huge love the boot and by and large its been reliable. Ive had issues with the vaporiser on the dpf common issue. A grands worth of work in the garage unless you have the right diagnostic equipment the job its self is easy enough. Or you have the option of gutting and remapping the dpf. 😂 you still see mk4 mondeos used as taxis today. I always look at what taxi drivers are driving when i buy a car
@@JonCoupland he would change his mind if he drove a mk4 mondeo especially in titanium x guise, it's as good as a bmw 3 series of the era ford really upped their game. The best mondeo is the mk4 I.m.o it's also a james bond car as bond had one in casino royale.
I think it's the quality of paint and lacquer that makes the difference on alloys. Diamond cut wheels have clearcoat on them and they are probably not powder coated. And diamond cut wheels often have sharp edges which will cause lacquer peel earlier.
The wheels, I think it's down to the quality of the alloy and the amount of paint, worst wheels I've had were on a Mazda 3 and Mazda replaced all four at 2 years of age as they were that corroded. Keep the Peugeot on the road, after the 306 and 406 it was all down hill for Peugeot sadly.
“It’s good enough for me”.
Can’t argue with the gaffer on that one 😊
😂😂
That job'll do just fine! Hes some man is dad. Spot on 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
It's great to keep the old girl going ... I do like a peugeot estate ... as they say up north, it'll do for pit work 😁
You and me both!
Great job dad, I remember when the 406s were everywhere, peak Peugeot era, post 2000 were mince
They are certainly few and far between now!
The scrappage scheme did not help.

Many thanks and he reads all comments :)
We will be there (and Dad has a special role this year!)
"Just a spanner monkey"
Out of order there Jon, and dad's face made that clear.
I see a 'middle of Lidl' apology on the horizon....
Those were his previous words not mine 😆 ... Plasma cutter incoming

Thanks for watching - we appreciate it
That’s a very tidy repair!
Thank you 👍
My god, i just came across your channel. i remember we worked at B&M together 😂
Yes we did 👍
Its a million times better than any of my efforts!
Mine too!
Were from near Boston :)
A blind man would be pleased to see it.
Now i wonder where you picked that phrase up from ;)
Haven't heard "worse things happen at sea" for a while either. Another classic 👌
Check the rear of those wheels and if they were like the alloys on my old 2003 peugeot 307 DTurbo, they may have a BBS makers mark cast into the rim.
We will take a peek!
the look on your dad's face when you called him a spanner monkey 😂
Great fun!
Looks really good to me! When my Micra got welded I got it handed back with a big black patch lol
Oh blimey!

That's a good way of doing it! Skoda Superb?
Dad's not overly keen on Fords for some reason

great job Pete
Glad you enjoyed it thank you
Looks ok apart from the crazed stone chip. The 406 is Peugeot’s less gaudy version of the VW harlequin cars 😊
😂😂 yes
Certainly a lot better than I can do Sir... (Phil)
Thanks for watching Phil

Yes thats a good point!
Looks great guys 👍😃
Thank you! Cheers!
Your dad has done a great job and like his accent too. Im guessing he's from South Lincolnshire

@@JonCoupland Nice town
I miss the days when you could get steel wheels on everything. Even if a steel wheel gets the tin worm a replacement wouldn't break the bank.
Absolutely. I'm a fan of them
Have you entered the @WhitelandRestorations raffle to win a concourse standard respray?😉
We haven't! But what a great idea that would be 😂

Japanese alloys are crap. I had a Lexus from new and within 18 months the wheels needed powder coating
Bonkers!
