BBT20 BBT Commissions Saturday 10 June 2023

The second of BBT filmmaker Graham Johnston's BBT20 films, mainly filmed on Saturday 10 June 2023, focuses on BBT Commissions - over 50 in our first two decades for 39 of our artists and ensembles. There were four such commissions featured over the first two days of our 20th anniversary celebrations at both Bold Tendencies, Peckham and Wigmore Hall, and the film excerpts all four. Violinist Alexi Kenney, who commissioned two of the works with his BBT Award explains the importance of commissioning as he gives the European premières of Angélica Negrón’s The Violinist for violin and electronics and Salina Fisher's Hikari.
