- Here's an idea I've had for years. Watch me make funny faces and play bass to one of my favorite NES chiptune soundtracks from my childhood for half an hour.

littleredguitars2 yeah, I love the theme too, but it seemed like he kinda screwed that one up. I don’t play bass, but I love the song and I could tell. I do play drums and it just sounded very flat. He was missing an accented note during the chorus maybe. That must mean it’s a particularly challenging song to play, because this guy is seriously good.

Mega man 2 is definitely good but I hate it that megaman 2 ost is like the only one people ever recognizes the franchise for.
Please, please do more retro VG bass runs! MM2 would be great, or any of the funny, hyper-active metal/fusion fusion stuff like Sonic 2, F-Zero or TMNT I/IV/Tournament Fighters for example. As a keyboardist, I know those big coil strings hurt like hell, yet you've bared with it and made something great. You're a video game music hero plain and simple.

I'm also inspired by how you seem to be using 3 fingers for that triplet type strum, for example on the password screen song, I'm a bass player too but can't do that. I must learn this lol. Also Megaman 3 soundtrack is basically my whole childhood so again....solid job and thank you for sharing this!

Wow this was fantastic! Impressive that it was one long take, and it also sounds amazing! I also like how in many parts you played an octave lower than the original chiptune, mainly because it does sound better than way on a bass guitar. UA-cam Recommended me this a little late, but better late than never!

A fun fact is that the volume of the triangle channel, which is usually used for bass, can't be lowered on the NES. That's why so many NES games have those prominent bouncy bass lines. I love the part at 11:08 in Spark Man's theme, and you did it well.

The reason why you are the best is because you pay attention to detail. Like playing the high notes at 5:15 is something which some would perhaps abstain from, but you play very faithfully, because that's what the triangle is doing in the original. And how at 11:21 you play a version with the triangle toms. Very well done
