I just have some questions about your experience because I am going to Copenhagen with DIS next spring! Did all your classes transfer over smoothly, or did not all of them have an equivalent class for your home school? What style of housing would you recommend? And how many classes did you take? 4 or 5? (:

Yayy so excited for you!🥳 The classes I took were already approved by my home uni's registrar's office and by my major's department chair so they all transferred smoothly! Thus, I recommend double-checking with those two parties (and any other applicable parties).
In terms of housing, I really liked RC because I wanted to build close relationships with other DIS students. Check out my video at 14:42 for the pros and cons of different housing options :)
I took a total of 5 courses, and one of them was a practicum. I'd recommend taking 4 classes so that you have more time to explore Copenhagen and to travel.

Hi! I applied to the DIS program and am hoping to possibly attend in the fall! I've never been abroad before (didn't even have a passport before deciding to study abroad) and was wondering what travel is like in the EU. If I come, I would want to travel to other countries, but I think it's hard for me to put into perspective what it would be like to try to travel all over the EU and if it's even possible with classes.

I should probably add in that traveling while I'm there is a big priority of mine and I would hope to spend most of my time exploring other places so this is why I'm not sure if time wise it is feasible or even financially.

Hey Olivia! Thanks for sharing and I’m SO excited for your first travel abroad! When I was in DIS in the Spring, I had plenty of travel time. DIS has travel weeks so on the week that you’re not traveling with your core class, you should totally use that week to travel. There was also spring break so that was another travel opportunity. I also recommend taking easier/fun classes and not schedule classes on Fridays so that you can optimize your time/weekend. Traveling around EU is DEFINITELY possible with DIS. Financial wise, I’d recommend saving up to $10K while being as strategic as possible when spending. Overall, I was able to travel to 7 countries. If you want more travel time, I’d recommend staying 1-2 more weeks in europe after the program ends (which is what I did). You’re going to love this study abroad experience, I wish you the best of luck!😊

@@hsiehweiting Do you know the level of difficulty the STEM classes are? I'm hoping to take biology/environmental science courses but am unsure if I'm going to be stressed the whole time if I take too many science related courses

@@OliviaBarnett-br8py I’d say the courses in DIS are usually not as rigorous or difficult as your home uni. You’ll still need to set aside time to study and do homework, but it wouldn’t be as time consuming. During the first few weeks, DIS gives you the opportunity to drop classes so you can drop then if you feel like you’ll be too overwhelmed.
