It's not that he "has to sing" it, It's intentional. He is making the crowd feel engaged and a part of the song. It's super fun, and watching this video i notice all the things he is doing to set the tone of this song. He goes between goofy/sarcastic to serious and goes between them, serious for the second half of the song, but ends on goofy for the outro. What i'm saying, is he is really good at performing.
