The introduction of Semantics is one of the interesting topics I have encountered under Linguistics. Especially Lexeme which is a basic unit of Semantics and has an underlying meaning of words. It has semantic features or components which is interesting because if one of these is remove, it no longer fits at all the word on those semantics features. I also agree with the idea of incidental component since some words may be in the context of their culture or society so some words have an extra semantic features. Overall, I was able to understand it very well and I am confident that I can able to answer the asynchronous task.

I learned that Lexeme, being the basic unit has a huge role in language, accompanied by the semantic features or components that creates the meaning of the word. The semantic features must be complete in order to properly describe it. Also, lexemes with the same semantic features are called shared features, but take note of the contrastive features. Overall, it is a great tool in enhancing our knowledge about semantics.
