Agree. Very helpful. I hinge forward and it does worsen with fatigue. Despite frequent strengthening gluts and hamstrings and a focus on once or twice daily stretching hip flexors and psoas for yrs., the beneficial effects seem brief and especially the hip flexors tighten up quickly 😕
I have terrible hip pain in the back of my right hip and a muscle in the front of my right hip feels like it “pops out” sometimes when I bend forward (it hurts n leaves me sore when it happens) I also walk with a rolling walker already and I hunch forward when I walk. I think I need to just strengthen everything 😫
Thank you again for the free Gems 💎!My issue is I'm in pretty good physical shape as an ex body builder. Its been damn near impossible to figure out where my imbalance is coming from.
Hi, I’m searching the comments for the exercises to strengthen the backside, thighs, core and back to reverse slouching caused by both issues. This video said to look in comments? I’m not seeing any link. Thanks
I have to pay to see it. So now I know my problem but don’t have the financial means to “unlock” the solution. Disabled and disgusted. Does following your mean I also need to pay you money? Perhaps get some ads so the people on disability can benefit from your knowledge and you get paid from sponsors?
@@atlasshrugged9861 Correct - the Total Core Program is a mini course that costs a one time charge of $29. No, you do not need to pay money to follow me. Another youtube video of mine that you may find helpful for a posture exercise is here: ua-cam.com/video/XxKiJWGtaxc/v-deo.html&t
Ty Dr G!!!!! You sent me here from tik tok!! Ty so much I'm doing the hip thing you said!!! Gonna work on building strength and stretching. Do you have videos in here for this specifically. Again ty SO much!!!!!
Glad you're here!! I do! If you use the search tool (magnifying glass) it will be easier to find what you are looking for. But here's an example of an exercise class that I think you'll find helpful! ua-cam.com/video/rUUwbnw0XNk/v-deo.htmlsi=dYEha3GImtzgufDd
My body wants to lean foward now, it’s so weird, I’m struggling with my posture so bad. When I let my knees lock I’m in a super extended swayback and I walk in a way that won’t let my knees lock so it makes it even more difficult for my to walk. when I don’t let my knees lock my body wants to lean foward. I also have a lot of compressing in my ribcage.
I’ve seen neurologist and they ordered me a brain mri. It has Ms on the order. Fr the second one it’s also a ribcage issue. It means air isn’t getting in lot the chest which is also my problem
Thanks, but with regard to the 2nd issue, I’ve learned that if your thoracic spine is curving forward, causing you to slouch forward (perhaps due to arthritis), there ain’t an exercise in the world that’ll fix your posture. If you know otherwise I’d like to hear. Thanks!
Correct, if the issue is a “bony”/structural issue or an issue due to collapsed discs, then exercise doesn’t typically help. Exercise will help if the curves/poor posture are due to muscle tightness &/or muscle weakness. Hope that helps!
I have a few full length, seated exercise classes on my page that I think you'll find helpful if you'd like to check them out! You can find one here: ua-cam.com/video/h5M-dPY5q0A/v-deo.htmlsi=sAL9TM7dc-cWNgJj
Hey there! I have lots of exercises on my page for hips/hip flexors! Definitely use the search bar (magnifying glass) and type in "hip" to sort through the videos quickly☺️
Hinging typically indicates a need for stretching the hip flexors and strengthening the glutes and hamstrings. Kyphosis is most often due to the alignment of our bones, but if weakness in the back muscles is contributing, then strengthening your spinal muscles will be important. I'd recommend seeing an in person physical therapist to evaluate your hinging and kyphosis so they can suggest appropriate exercises.
So what should we do to correct it?
these are always so helpful!
I'm glad you find them helpful! Thanks for watching :)

Hi there! Those are all in the Total Core Program, which can be found here: www.doctorgretchenhawley.com/TotalCoreProgram

Unfortunately, that type of posture and walking can be very common in MS. If you haven't already, see if working with a physical therapist can help!

combination hinge AND slouch here!
I hope that the tips in this video can be helpful!

I have the first issue but I’m also slouched up top. It’s like a rounded back with tight hip flexors. It’s horrible I feel like an old person
You're not alone! Generally speaking, in that case you would also need to strengthen your back muscles + stretch your chest muscles🙌🏻
lower back pain makes me walk bent forward.. help with exercises plz

What exercises for hips?

I bent over hinged but have kyphosis as well. What can I do?
