- The onside kick between the Cowboys and Falcons yesterday inspired me to make a video about NFL players not knowing the rules.

Andrew Byrd 23-6

But how? Chargers tried to ice Butker multiple times yesterday. How that isn't called?
@@ercihanates6504 they called timeout once
Ercihan Ateş you clearly weren’t paying attention. The Chiefs committed a false start the first time.
This was dedicated to the falcons game just be honest.
Proof NFL is rigged
Gunnar00 go back to bed
Gunnar00 Yes, of course. Surely the chosen team of Icarus, the Falcons, would never be so incompetent. The good old 14-2 followed by 5-11 and 4-12 Falcons would never play so poorly. It must be that the game is rigged.
@@Gulag00 yeah surely every player in the NFL is just keeping their mouth shut about it

In the words of Chris Smoove “GIVE THAT GUY A MANUAL!” 😂😂😂😂

Atlanta after that is the dumbest team this year
I'm a Falcons fan and I have to agree. Dan Quinn is a clown and should have been fired last season

Not that dumb tho I guess maybe I’m dumb
We choked away so many games
@@cliffhopkins7101 i am also a falcons fan, but i dont think dan quinn needs to be fired but that is all on the players and if a coach needs to be fired it should be the special teams coaches
Atlanta is capable of losing when having a 99% chance to win
Edit: They also had a 99% chance to beat the bears and lost
Even worse they had a 99.9% of winning. 😜
What do you mean?! You're talking as if they've blown a 28-3 lead late in the 3rd quarter of the Super Bowl... ;)
Yeah, ESPN gave them a 99.9% of winning when there was 2 1/2 minutes left in the game.
Rayaan HOOPS did you know that Kyle Shanahan was part of the two teams that blew the two highest win possibilities in the super bowl 2017 Falcons and 2020 49ers
Rayaan HOOPS that’s facts
I love that the announcer for the Indy game called an incompletion on the 2nd pass attempt, but then called it inexperience after the flag. Sounds like not just Painter thought you could do that.
How often does a Quarterback first catch his own pass, and then have time to throw a second one? Honestly, I don't blame Painter.
@@Drave_Jr.He'd have been better off letting the deflected pass bounce off his chest and fall to the ground incomplete.
The second pass was incomplete.

Lmao . I just thought of this play last week when Akiem Hicks did almost the exact same thing and there was no flag thrown
I was looking for this hahahaha. Literally why I came to the comments
That Titans player immediately taking off his helmet to 📞 was absolutely hilarious lol
"It's Leon Lett, nooooo."
That call cracks me up every time I hear it. 😂
Although the Cowboys spoiled Thanksgiving Day dinner that day, the good news was that it was the last game they would lose that season.
Falcons and blowing 20+ point leads. Name a more iconic duo.
Detroit. This year. Again. It is already 'Wait Until Next Year' time in Detroit.
Eagles fans and hating their QB's
I disagree with the eagles thing, they love Carson wentz, he just keeps getting injured
@Mahoney Gaming At least Minnesota has been to the Super Bowl. Detroit has only watched from home.
One Lion to another Lion: Hey! We going to the Super Bowl this year?
Second Lion: I don't know. Did you buy tickets?

What are the rules to tax evasion? I haven’t done it in quite awhile, can anyone tell me? Thanks
rule #1: get arrested
@@HighlightHeaven no thats the #1 thing not to do during tax evasion.
I usually call these guys when I need advice on tax evasion:
800-829-1040
Taxation is theft. If anyone bothered to read the Declaration of Independence they would know taxes was one of the primary reasons our forefathers left England. Also it's unconstitutional and any law passed that is unconstitutional is null and void and furthermore it is every American's Duty to not follow that law but don't worry about any of this y'all just keep watching grown men playing with balls SMH
Tax evasion rule #1, make up an amount you owe that is less than amount you do owe. Rule #2 Create the paper work to back up those claims .... Profit !?
Can someone explain how the dolphins are playing the cowboys and it’s snowing?
It was a rare snow day in texas
They were more than likely playing in Irving.. it can snow in Texas just rare especially in north Texas and west Texas.. south Texas is especially rare to snow , but it happened before most recent last decade..
Snow occurs in north Texas every now and then during the winter, but it’s very rare for it to occur at that time of year (Thanksgiving,) especially snow of that intensity. I was only 11 at that time, so I was WAY more upset than I now would be.
This was on Thanksgiving Day in Dallas. Leon Lett redeemed himself in the Super Bowl when he stripped away the ball and it was returned for a touchdown. That turned the tide of that game and the Cowboys won their second straight that year.
Cowboys had an outdoor stadium back then, and this was before the climate crisis really kicked into high gear.
On the last clip, the coach’s vintage Miami look in the snow is such a mood
The Atlanta play was so idiotic that for a split second it made me second guess if I even knew the onside kick rules or if they made an adjustment to them in the offseason LMAOO
I was like what are you doing on that first one?
I'll give Painter, the Colts QB, massive props for being able to do that. Illegal forward pass or no, that was kinda cool
Painter was a terrible QB. The season that Peyton Manning was out due to injury, he had fewer wins that season than _Dan Orlovsky_ did. And they both played for the same team, and Painter started more games!
ETA: Their records were as follows: Painter 0-8, Orlovsky 2-3.
Also, yes I'm a Colts fan.
1:12 sums up Curtis Painter’s career.
Can you please do a Part 2? There are some ones you missed:
-Donavan McNabb saying after the tie against the Bengals (I think it was the Bengals) that he didn't even know that NFL games can end in a tie
-Plaxico Burress after catching his first NFL reception slamming the ball to the turf thinking he was down, but the opposing team (Forget who it was) picking up the ball because it was a live ball
-Barry Foster in his rookie year with the Steelers not receiving the opening kickoff as it went into the end zone and the Opposing team recovered the ball for a TD
There may be some other incidents that I have missed, but those are the ones that come to mind for me...
thanks for the info. ill definitely look into part 2
My mans doing research. I respect it. It also makes getting a part two easier
The Steelers in 2018 had got a safety against the browns and on the free kick none of the Steelers grabbed the free ball letting the Browns recover.
There was once a safety on the opening kick off by Darius Reynaud
This has become a thread of Steelers clips...
In the Atlanta game my 11yr old nephew was yelling get the ball while the Falcons players just watched it.
Probably be a better coach than quinn.
i think i would do the same thing except that I was just confused as Atlanta when nobody grabbed it
TIE Silencer, that’s OK, a professional football player should know better.
How the hell do you find some of this footage, there’s tens of thousands of games to dig through! And how do you find those exact moments! Its crazy
“What are the Bills doing?”
Said every Bills fan from ‘91-‘94.
well now -- I remember you guys were in the Superbowl and a wide-right kick away from beating my Giants - that's not too bad
They could have easily won their first Super Bowl appearance, but other than that, they only stood a chance in the first half of their second Super Bowl against the Cowboys.
SOOO glad this came thank you
That cowboy game was...
Scary
As a cowboys fan I'm so happy seeing that clip again
3:07 the announcers didn’t know the rules lol, they thought the touchdown only counted cause it was touched when it doesn’t matter if it was touched or not.
Thats not true, they still knew it was live, they just thought he was trying to catch it but he couldn't see it
Spencer Gavin they first said he touched the ball, it seemed like they thought had he not touched the ball it would’ve been a touch back
The faces of the refs in the Bills kick of TD are awesome. They're literally smiling like "that just happened!"
Explain what happened please? I'm confused!
You should have done Marquette King from a few years ago. He punted and got a roughing the kicker flag, so in his celebration he used the flag as a prop and he got called for a penalty because of it, resulting in the penalties offsetting.
Agree. Should title it like NFL " craziest punter moments" or something like that
Falcons will never not be remembered for that onside kick and 28-3, falcons fans sadly need to accept it.
Ive been accepted it but the problem is they keep trying to fucking top themselves.
@@zuluhawk The onside kick was really bad. Like I can at least understand how the Bills didn't know the rules on that kickoff because that situation rarely happens, but onside kicks are something every team prepares for, and it's very well known that the receiving team can jump on the ball at any time. The only way the Falcons will get rid of that as part of their legacy is by doing something worse, and I dont even know if that's possible.

The falcons failed on that onside kick attempt. They had one job, recover the kick
As a Packers fan, I know all about failures on an onside kick. Damn Brandon Bostick.
The ball had Covid They were like I ain’t touching that thing ......
How can at least a few players be confused about the rule? That's the thing that baffles me. More than one player could have at least tried to get the ball
If the ball doesn’t go ten yards then Atlanta gets the ball. No one wanted to “Leon Lett” the ball.
@@nocalsteve Well, there was no snow for any Falcons player to slide on. Couldn't a Falcons player have knocked it out of bounds or is that illegal?
as a falcons fan I just wanna say thank for this dedication video ! making us look like straight fools ! 💙 honor
I was waiting for this after the Atlanta Dallas Game.
i already know this video was made solely for the reason of the falcons on sunday
I got through half the video being so confused thinking it was knowing the rules
LMAOOOOO
Blowing a lead, an Atlanta Falcons tradition.
The Rian Lindell kick was the first game Washington played after Sean Taylor's murder. I remember watching it. I didn't know you couldn't call consecutive timeouts back then, but you'd think someone like Joe Gibbs would know considering he had 40 years of coaching experience in American football. Also, icing the kicker doesn't work. They don't care they have to wait longer, they are used to being confident and never feel the pressure.
The first clip says it all 😭😭😭
I am a falcons fan, and watched this live. Once I saw the title of this video, I thought it was 100% justified video to post.
"What are the bills doing?" Is one of lifes greatest mysteries.
As a fan i can attest to the accuracy of this comment. Last night was another of those moments.
If the Bills were receiving why wasn’t it a touchback ? If no one of the Bills touched it
There a great team
@@TheDiego517 The ball was never downed and had passed over 10 yards, so the Jets were able to recover the ball as if it were an onside kick... in the endzone. I'm a little surprised the Bills/Texans playoff example wasn't here for back-to-back kickoff botches.
@@SquallLionhart409 Does the ball have to travel 10 yards total, or 10 yards once it hits the ground? Based on the rules I've read, it's the former.
Cowboys fans at the beginning of the video: 😄
Cowboys fans at the end of the video: 😖
LuhJay cowboys fan...?
To be fair, that was the last Cowboys loss that season and they won the Super Bowl.
Kylie McInnes while that may be true, doesn’t change the fact that is one of the worst plays in NFL history.
@@GimmeViolence1 Oh yeah. But a real Cowboys fan should know what came after and just laugh it off.
I'm a Bengals fan, so I just sit and cry.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
wow, you even included the play from last night. nice job
These Falcons players aren't special teams, they're special needs.
I also remember when 36 yard field goals were considered "no doubt abouters"
How does the falcons one apply?
because the falcons should be in the cfl at this point
@Couch Flies yea and they don't have too
They didn't know that the receiving team is allowed to touch the ball before it goes 10 yards.
@Hayden exactly, they could have picked it up and scored💀 or just jump on it and its game over
Only the kicking team has to wait for it to travel 10 yards
The mistake at around 0:40 (the freezing the kicker one) is actually -1000 IQ, like, you should reasonably be expected to know as a head coach that you can't do that
The Falcons were the final straw to get this video up finally
I can't wait for Urinatingtree's Sportsball video tomorrow!! I want him to have a field day with the Falcons 😂😂😂😂
Can you upload games ending at the goal line compilation?
Finally this video, I’ve seen that Randall Cobb highlight too much
1:53 not anymore, that’s a touchback
Yeah, I saw it this week and was screaming at the TV "That's a live ball!" while the ref was blowing his whistle and waving his hands above his head. It isn't a live ball anymore.
Lol, the NFL changed the rule to accommodate the stupity of their players.
Opening the video with THAT play that just happened 😂😂😂
0:13 when your scared of covid
They just blew another lead to the bears
I bet Dan Quinn didn't even know the rule lmfao he's a clown
He knew the damn rule, Koo's got a handful of successful onsides!! But he fell asleep in class just like the special teams. DQ better be DQ'd from the coaching position and deserves to be booed at the nearest DQ. 😡😠
That's first time kick was that slow and not bouncing
DQ needs a job at Home Depot not as a NFL coach! He needs to be removed and his position given to a competent coach.
@@randyposs6281 it don't matter, you gotta try to get on that one...worse case scenario you touch it and make it a live ball, Cowboys get it a couple of yards earlier. Every coach on the team was telling them to jump on it no mattter what.
Can someone explain why it was a touchdown instead of a touchback during that punt return touchdown for the jets?
I could be wrong. But I think it's only a touchback if no players from the receiving team touched the ball AND the ball directly hits the ground in the end zone (i.e. The ball cannot hit the ground at say 5 yard line and then bounces into the end zone). This is actually a kickoff, whose rules are different from a punt.
The rule book is a little confusing.

The Falcons not going for the ball on the on-side kick made me mad and I'm not even a Falcons fan.

Now do the refs not knowing the rules, lot of good footage there.
Atlanta still hasn't gotten over 28-3 I see. Still scared to mess up so they do nothing.
Noticed he made this the day after the Falcons-Cowboys game
I love this lol I've been waiting for this kind of video
Perfect timing
Jesus this channel has grown a ton
The kicker at 0:35 was my PE teacher 2 years ago
You forgot the Saints-Rams punt return for a touchdown. The ball bounced at the 1 yard-line and was fielded for a touchdown while everybody just stood around and walked off the field.
I missed your videos glad the season is back
Exactly my dad was mad when the falcons messed up yesterday with the onside kick
I saw that last one when it happened and hated the Cowboys for making things too predictable by winning all the time. One of my favorite moments in my early NFL fandom.
I was waiting for this no cap
0:01 - Regarding the Falcons, I think the players thought that it was not going to reach 10 yards and made a split-second decision to not get the ball that backfired. Had they touched it and did not properly get possession, then the kicking team can recover the ball without it going 10 yards. Basically, they knew the Cowboys could not touch the ball, but waited too long.
Then the answer to that is for one Falcon to attempt a solid grab, with five or six others to receive should it squib away from that first guy.
1:11 Who's here after Brady did that against the Rams
Thing is, is that bradys play stood!!!
Had a teammate last year who we had to explain the rules to in the middle of games 😂😂😂
Leon lett was always such a klutz, I remember that snowy football game
Bro cowboys all the way there should be more Highlights about them and there onside kick was pretty good and I am so happy they won
lmao yall suck
There's a play by Dallas where their opponent fumbled the ball, and a DT (maybe Josh Brent?) picks it up and is just talking to his teammates like the play is over. Then they realize the whistle wasn't blown so he starts running with it.
Being 75, looking at the old plays, I can hardly believe that I watched the NFL for 25 years through an empty mayonaise jar.
LOVE THE THUMBNAIL💀
the BUF/WAS game (2nd clip) was the first game after sean taylor died . RIP the legend

Hahaha Dan Quinn said his players know the rules 😂
Hearing Curtis Painter’s name gives me bad flashbacks
i think highlight heaven decided that now was the time to make the video, he had been waiting, but after that onside kick, he knew it was time
I love how the very first clip happened last night
When Highlight Heaven turns into SAVAGE Brick Sports at the beginning
1:40 “That’s inexperience right there.”
Meanwhile Tom Brady with two decades of experience:
I think the Falcons players were either thinking it was going too slow to reach 10 yards or that it'd go out of bounds, and didn't want to risk jumping on it and the ball coming loose making it live.
do you know what would have happened then? Cowboys ball around their own 42-43 instead of the 45....there was no reason not to dive at that one.
@@nealmccorkle3681 But, if it went out of bounds, it would be a penalty and Falcons ball.
@@hunterotails2015 that is true but you don't leave that to chance, you dive on that ball period, that is taught at every level of football.
ive never seen a sport where so many players are unaware of the rules and where they actually apply
