Comment on whether or not you agree or disagree and PLEASE give detail as to why. Don't say some dumb shit like "NO YOU'RE WRONG FAGGOT!" and not say why you think I'm incorrect. Thank you.
I agree with you. People listen to music for a million different reasons, and just because their reason isn't the exact same as yours doesn't give you the right to complain that your music is better. Not all music is made to be serious, or a masterpiece, but some people don't understand that not all music is supposed to be like they want it to be. This is the same stuff that I see when i listen to rock. Some people like to shit on bands because they're not better than the legendary bands that they like to name. Just because we like music that you don't like does not make us tone deaf. Sorry it's a paragraph but you said to give detail.
dublinjake you fail to realize those artists do put effort into songs just not in the direction you're thinking. They put effort into making a catchy song that will be played in parties clubs etc. Those kind of songs arent meant to last for years and be looked at as a classic.
dublinjake That is a party track most party track aren't lyrical? Like someone who parties alot probably thinks thats some real shit. Not everything is lyrics and beats to everyone.
I agree and voice this opinion to others. Although my friends and I bash each other's music jokingly, the fact of the matter is that we can agree that music is a more SUBJECTIVE part of life since we all have differences in preferences in rap, other genres, anime, and video games as well. While TECHNICALLY every song falls under the large category that's music, songs are about as different as the types of people in the world. While we all have people we'd rather not chill with, there is music we'd rather keep out of our ears by playing our personal playlist through headphones to block out. On that personal note, can you please re-upload BLACK please? It's one of my favorite intense songs of yours!
My nigga, you be spittin that true shit. (I don't talk like that) I think that every point you made in this video is true, Hip Hop is culture, and Hip Hop is art. However I did find one thing in your argument to talk about. Haters, for whatever reason, are a part of the culture now to. They are like the critics of the Hip Hop community. I don't think any artist would feel accomplished if they didn't have any haters for the simple fact that they wouldn't feel that anyone really looked at their music for what it is and really thought deep about it. While I made this comment, I couldn't help but think about the one line in your song Vi "Niggas that hate pay the closest of attention", which is true. But that's really all I had to say about this. You keep doing you, and I'm gonna keep listening to your music, and loving it. Stay true my nigga
Also the radio needs to be more balanced. There is too much 'Hype' music with rappers either promoting violence or drugs and thats fine but i feel like its giving this generation of people the wrong ideals about what Hip Hop and Rap is. All music has a purpose. RAP stands for Rhythm And Poetry and even in a hype song you have rhythm and poetry. Not everything is gonna be about 'The Struggle' just like not everything is about 'The Money/Drugs/Hoes'. No matter what its about its relatable to someone therefore it is good Hip-Hop so there's no problem with either kind of Hip-Hop. The problem is the radio of today doesn't have a balance of the 2 types. They only play the 'Hype' music and because of that, that is what's selling and that is what kids are growing up on and thinking is the real way to live instead of getting an understanding that that is merely a character. They don't get a balance of exposure. That needs to change.
Neither is easy to do. It takes both a producer and rapper's hard work to do either type good. But thats just it. There's good hype music and there's definitely bad hype music just like there's good thought provoking rap and bad as well. There's just an oversaturation of Hype of Storytelling because of what is selling more.ATM.
I'd have to disagree. I can write a storytelling song just as easily as a hype song. It just depends on what the person has been through or seen i believe.
***** that is not it is just people believe that because they are very shallow and just want to follow what is popular and can't decide themselves what they like.
Kore Nintendo Gaming and also do not understand pain cos they have never had to deal with it. There are people dying in africa and do you think they are baby bitches crying too.
Yes bro. if you can make a hip-hip or rap song about mayonnaise and relate to someone, then yes, it is real hip-hip all you gotta do is relate to one person and its real. You might be talking stupid shit on the track but if somebody feeling it, then its real hip-hop
I've been PREACHIN this shit and finally someone else gets it. People need to learn the differences between rappers. Not every rapper is going to talk about the same lyrically mind blowing shit.
What you said at the end is so true. I listen to songs for entertainment, not to relate to them. I may not like Lil' Wayne's music, but I don't spend half of my time on the internet bitching about his rapping or how he's illuminati or some shit. "Hip Hop, is fucking Hip Hop, not every song is gonna change the world, not every song is gonna touch your heart. It's fucking Hip Hop, it's art." More people need to understand this fucking sentece. P.S. Hyped for the new songs, they gonna be the shit.
Hit the damn nail on the head. I been saying this but nah everyone wants a rapper to be Slaughter House material or some shit. If you can relate to the music, of course you're going to like it. If you can't then you probably wont. Only thing i think should should change in hip hop today is the promotion of drugs/violence. Put on the role and rap like that and its fine but it shouldn't be played out in real life. It should be seen as what it is, a character.
I completely agree. This is why people need to stop hating on an art is it just because they didn't release music that touched them. The worst are people who hate on someone because it's currently popular to hate on them.
Real Hip-Hop is when someone puts time and effort into crafting their rap skill, real Hip-Hop is when someone values their lyricism, and real Hip-Hop is when the rapper has something to say. I say its just music. If they like it, let 'em be. If they don't, that's their business. Don't let no one set standards for what YOU like to listen to. It's your ears. Your taste. Your style. Your rhythm.
Here is the thing, when it comes to Hip Hop music specifically it originated from individuals of a lowerclass urban environment with NO FORMAL MUSICAL TRAINING. In hip hop's early stages, everything was done from a very ORGANIC,BUT AMETURE AND LOCALLY APPEALING STANDPOINT meant to stop gang violence in the urban areas of STRICTLY NYC. (Ex:Most of HipHop's originators couldnt play musical instruments,so to compensate they began to collect ACTUAL MUSICAL VINYLS of artist from ALL MUSICAL GENRES along with record players and plates used for EATING lol, to use as a foundation for the sound of hip hop.Later retrieveing a BEATMACHINE which was used as a PRACTICE TOOL by ACTUAL musicians to duplicate actual instruments. Most of the founders also had NO VOCAL TRAINING so they began to create simple rhymes to go along with the sounds.Grafitti artist had NO FORMAL TRAINING,and no real art supplies, so they began to use CHEAP SPRAY CANS which was all they could afford,to paint murals on brick and concrete walls to represent this growing culture, then you had individuals who wanted to express the culture through dance ALSO WITH NO FORMAL TRAINING,who got CARDBOARD BOXES,and began to BREAKDANCE ON THEM.Thus "hip hop" was created.) It wasnt untill the the music industry seen the potiential in it and how far it could go, that hip hop began to began to get shaped and molded PROFESSIONALLY to become what it is today. Because of this reason, the ORIGINAL FOUNDERS began to feel like the music industry had a monopoly on its foundation and was reaping off of all of the benefits and perks of it going GLOBAL,so a hatred began to brew and anything that the music industry had a hand in going forward was considered as being "not real hip hop",sell out music",and "going pop. These terms began to trickle down into the fabric of the individuals who were the original supporters of the founders (so called HARDCORE HIP HOP FANS) and continued on into the current decade of listeners.Off of this fact alone, this is why currently you have individuals who reject ANYTHING that is EXPERIMENTAL,INNOVATIVE, GLOBALLY ACCEPTED and OUTSIDE of the"Original Hiphop culture"that THEY CREATED expressed above. So when it comes to your statement "If i were a MUSCIAN, I would perfer to be revered by hardcore fans than by the masses" this has to be taken into account. Kanye started off SAMPLING AND USING THE BEATMACHINE,but soon realized that he wanted to step out of using STRICTLY THE BEATMACHINE,and began to use LIVE INSTRUMENTATION and also began to ARRANGE MUSIC after being mentored by PROFFESSIONAL MUSCIANS. (Ex:Rick Rubin Co founder of Def Jam,ORIGINAL CREATOR of the PROFFESSIONAL HIP HOP SOUND due to the fact he was one of the ONLY INDIVIDUALS IN HIP HOP at the time who was a MULTIINSTRUMENATLIST), That Kanyes production and experimental skills began to increase. He as well as others more recently are REJECTED by "hardcore hip hop fans" due to the fact that alot of artist in hip hop today are MULTITALENTED,play instrumentents, and came from middleclass families and are bringing in things that the ORIGINAL FOUNDERS couldnt do so they are being castrated. Ex:Drake
Respect, fam. I can't front I am a 90's head (Wu Tang still killin 'em) and I'm feeling less and less of what's been coming out lately but I still find enough gems out there (especially in underground hip hop and battle rap) that i haven't lost complete faith in Hip Hop. I feel what you're saying as far as being real to the listener it relates to. That's what always made Hip Hop great. I think what turns folks off is that if you only look at the main stream it sometimes feels like Hip Hop is being polarized and i think that pisses off a lot of heads. I think people have gotten lazy (the listeners, not so much the artists) in that they want their music spoon fed to them by the radio and all that instead of going thru and searching out artists and that may not be getting that shine yet but are putting out good music. Peace
i agree.. but i don't think i argue that "hip hop" nowadays isn't relatable.. its just hella simplified, rap has turned into a genre on who can make the best ringtone, or who can smash the same industry beat the hardest.. rap is being taken advantage of.. in my opinion
I found you this morning after finding Dan Bull last night.. I'm one of those "older 90s" people but must admit I love the sound from you both. Keep up the good work!
I completely agree with this video. I can relate to the video game rap but I really can't relate to any current rap lyrics. I just don't do any of those things or go through any of those hard times. The dope music is what I listen to but I'm so lost on what they're trying to say most of the time when I listen to migos I have to google a lot of these words I swear those niggas make up words and use them in their songs lol. But the lil Wayne piece is true too, I used to really like his music not so much anymore though great video though 👌
That's probably the truest words I've seen someone preach in a while. This was not only called for, but devastatingly needed. Thanks Shizzy, I'm going to share the fuck outta this :) Pardon my english :(
I've listened to all of your music VI and love it, your music is extremely easy to relate to, especially your Demigod album. I agree with you on this point though, there's no bounds to hip hop or music in general. Me personally I can't stand "mumble rap" and think I personally its trash, but I don't bash anyone for liking it. We all have our tastes in music. I know I'm mad late on this video but I still appreciate you putting this out here. What you said is facts even if you stated at the start this is purely opinion. Its just a shame that so many people wear rose colored glasses about one thing and trash others for liking another style or genre
When I hear people say "real" rap, I don't think they're looking for something relatable or literal. To me "real rap" is something that you would listen to 4 times over just so you can get every little metaphor and understanding that the rapper wants to convey. It's a story, it's a marvel, it's poetry. I get that not everyone wants a deep track, but some of the songs out today are just way too simple. Simplicity is not the way to progress hip-hop.
The logo face! Lmao! Hip hop is personal preference! I agree what may be cold asf to me. Others raise their eyebrows when they hear it! Until the 2nd week when they be like this is hot! Lol
i feel what you sayin, and i agree, also im new to ur stuff, its great, but i got distracted and excited by one thing. My dude, is that a Kingdom Hearts tat on ur wrist?
Im with you on this, if you do nothing your self how can you see it through the eyes of the person making it, who is working on it passionately? Ya know you right shizzy you right
Well said. it's a state of hip hop today. Every where people have pigeon holed themselves. Dumbin down is practical. Content is over saturated. Too many artists doing everything but themselves.
shizzy i agree with you so much that there was point in my life i hated all types of hip hop and rap and other things i was a hater but when i heard you my life got better i stopped hatting i started being myself while listening to you . i really love your musicmore than any other artist in the world plz keep doing what your doing . your number one fan cesar mendoza
i 100% agree with what you just said. Why? Because the evidence is present, you understand the basis of art to a great degree. Whats more is that you have full reasoning for choosing specific people that back up your story. Most people don't understand and always find ways to complain but you give it to people straight, and what i say is that your video as a whole was direct and effective. If people don't agree that's their opinion.
Real talk here. I think your next debate should be on mainstream rap vs. underground and how both have evolved through time. People might learn something. Anyways, Imma get back to my Tostitos.
lol I can agree that each artist has their own audience who in some way or another can relate to the music they present, so real or fake doesn't apply when it comes to that. From what I have heard and seen it's not so much about who is real or fake, it's more about content and quality. Either way it goes each medium, whether it be music, movies, or videogames, all will have critics. Not all artist tell a flowing or even coherent story which can be seen as random gibberish with a good beat. Does that make it hip hop? Sure it can be, but the real question would be is it good hip hop? Some say yes, others say no. In the end much of it is preference driven at best. Many wouldn't care if it was a even as it was in the late 90's early 2000's, that's where the issue lies. We all know there were some goofy shit in the mix and will always be some, but when you fill your mainstream with a majority of them it takes away from it's diversity. In a sense, that's what turns people off. I can't really say hip hop has evolved when we speak of mainstream; I mean it's grown over the years and has spread worldwide, but in the forefront is only one or two versions of the craft that is presented.
Shizzy I agree with you so much that there was a point in my life I hated all kinds of rap and hip hop but since I heard you my life got better I stopped hating. I started being myself and I really love ur music more than any other artist out their in the world plz keep doing what your doing your number one fan Cesar. Mendoza
I've never thought about HipHop that way, I only listen to the songs and decide wether I like them or not. But I think you made a good point explaining the feeling on what's real and what's not. In the end I agree, HipHop (and music in general) it's heart, it's entertainment.
I agree it's based on personal preference and also "Real Hip-Hop" being something others can relate to, why else would they make songs like that. You went off and I like your opinionated viewpoint and it's also good because you can do a bit of it all really well if it's lyrical or telling a story etc... Keep up the good work man with your music I'm behind you 100% and keep it 100 like you always do. Peace.
SUPER LYRICAL MIMICAL. exactly. imo real hip hop is art and to be a good artist you have to include all good elements into your art. od lyrics dont write in stone that your dope as hell. the best beat doesnt make you the best. i can be a beast lyrically. but how i compose the song and the message of the lyrics and a possible story and how the beat amplifies that matters to me more
Very good points. One can say that these principles can be transferred to other genres of music. Or to other media. Life evolves. The media evolves. It's natural. Eerr... "natural". Therefor, art evolves as well.
Nice vid Shizzyvi. I agree. On a side note Some artists are overlooked because people are used to the same people and are tired of the same thing ,but dismiss artists that aren't mainstream or on the radio. Childish Gambino is a prime example of someone different but people didn't wanna listen to him until now when 3005 dropped and joined the band wagon. Where were they when Gambino dropped his album Camp in 2011?
Great point. You made a lot of sense man. I'ma start playing this video for people once they start that whole there's no real hip hop nowadays. Glad someone put this out there. Props! Haven't checked your music out but you make sense regardless.
You gotta whole lot of great points in this video I use to talk shit about a lot of rappers but now IM gonna change Tht you are right about all of that
Yo Sizzy, how u been bro ?, first I want to say u know I been fuggin with Ur music for years now, keep up the good work, but as far as the matter at hand, Hip hop has evolved so much, i agree with u a Lil bit, I would say Ur definition is what it used to be .... now it just seem like hip hop (the actual genre of music ) is mostly BRAG rap,.... cars, money, clothes, girls, and all that flashy stuff. I'm a Lil older and slowly but surely am becoming more of a fan of backpack rap...
got to start with stating i completely agree with all mentioned in this vid but ive noticed that when it comes to these type of discussions everyone always leaves out the fact that rap / hip hop is "music" so the musicality of a rapper plays a big part subconsciously to people on different levels Musicality in flow / delivery etc, and of course beat choice and even the level of musicality within the beat (keeping in mind minimalist selections) so just for the sake of discussion i'd say ppl always constantly stressing lyricism are more ignorant to the musical aspects and need to stop wasting time and beats and stick to a capellas and slam poetry ..
This is some true shit, true story right here. Couldn't of said it better myself. Hip hop is hip hop forever changing. If you don't like a certain artist don't listen to them then, plain and simple. If your a true hip hop fan then you will go out and buy mixtapes, go o. The internet and listen to new sounds,( that's how I found this cat right here) or talk to people about some new artists that are out that you've never heard about. 15-20 years ago you didn't just KNOW about wutang, 2pac, biggie etc you had to find them! Rather it be radio TV and now internet hip hop is here to stay. Its up to you to find what and who you like to hear, instead of hating and sticking to old school unless that's your thing (nothing wrong with old school 80's baby 90's kid/teen here)!
I agree 100%, there is no real hip-hop only what you feel and what you dont. Those type of people dont seem to understand that lyrical rappers can be wack too. People also think Hip-hop was solely created for social commentary which is also false, yes Hip-hop can be used as a tool to fight injustice but thats not its sole purpose. Rappers started out partying on the block having fun, bragging, cracking jokes at each other or just freestyling. The type of people that sit up on the computer and type ridiculous comments about the meaning of hip-hop on 90's rap, 2pac, Eminem, Hopsin, and Lil Wayne videos are misinformed, immature, and usually dont know what they're talking about.
I came here lookin' for some jammin' beats right Anyway I fell in love with your material, a lot of it connects with me as a person and for that you've got my respect and subscription. Keep doin' what you do
Hey music has touched my heart many times! Other than that, I definitely agree. I hate mumble rap or whatever but "real hip hop" Idiots get on my nerves like they don't even know half of today's artists who are better than old school IMO
I agree with you man 100%. People always hate and say this guy is the best rapper, this guy is bad, this guy is real, when in reality they only say it's good based on what their going through in their life. If they got a high payin job, rich as fuck, a nice car, different chick every other day, their gonna look back thinking about that song and say it was amazing. But at the same time if a person was strugglin, they'll look back and hate that music. ITS ALL FUCKING OPINION. ITS LIKE ARGUING WHICH COLOR ON THE RAINBOW IS THE BEST. HAHAHA. Also, I feel like this video was made in response to all the whining about the best rapper/music in your twitch stream the other day lmfao. -BKPrimal
Yeah I agree. Real Hip hop is opinionated. In a nutshell, it's based on what you like as a person. We all gotta embrace the fact that hip hop moves on and that everybody can't be the next eminem or Joey bada$$. Some people rap to have a passion for the art and want to show their lyrical talent, while other people want to make songs for the parties that they themselves and their friends go to. Lowkey this video made me realize that. It don't matter how hip hop keeps evolving. Like the songs that you like based on your preference, but don't bash anyone because everyone has a different purpose, message, and interpretation of hip hop
I agree to the fullest its just stupid how i recommend a dope unheard rapper to someone then they reply hes whack but then they get famous nd all of a sudden they dope That happaned to me plenty of times when i was a prime time hopsin fan being younger but being older travleing to a new artist such as shizzy hearing a new story within his lyrics gives me the boost to not gaf what others have to say about me or my music cause its good to grow Still i would like to go into a party or sum shit nd hear a song i like by one of my artist but still whatever music plays im cool with it because all people have different styles of lyrical flow Its just up to the decisions of the people who listen to choose to stay away learn nd listen or to act out exactly what they hear It the Yin nd Yang of Music
Real hip hop in my opinion is the use of bold lyricism and truthful lyrics while remaining related and relevant to a message (hidden or obvious) insisted upon in the song. If the lyrics are recited in a catchy poetical Rhythm it always helps.
I'm agreeing with what you're saying, Cuz I thought Future was complete ass until he came out with Benz Friends with Andre. Some stuff works, some doesn't, basically.
I agree. Not every song can touch a person, we don't know a person's life story, and I think real hip hop is what's real to the artist, be it just entertainment or their life
ACTUALLY "real hiphop" is just a no true scotman fallacy, there is just hiphop, it doesn't matter if you like it or not it is STILL hiphop. Like how I don't like dubstep, some people may say "you haven't heard real dubstep" but I disagree, see there are dubstep songs I like, but those songs are no more or less "real" than any other dubstep songs, the more accurate responce would have been "you just haven't found any dubstep musicians you like", though that statement is an assumption it isn't a logical fallacy.
I think all rappers need to listen to this. As a rapper myself, I would always condemn other rappers (especially mainstream ones) about the way they're killing what I believed to be real hip hop. But fact of the matter is this is what hip hop is now, and what was hip hop back then is still hip hop. It's merely hip hop in two different times. It's like saying "you're not a human now because you're different to the way humans were 100 years ago". Ultra freakin' stupid right? Needless to say I've opened up my mind. I'm still gonna bash on rappers that are lame whilst still giving credit where credit is due (example: I don't rate Rick Ross because his rap style doesn't impress me, but I respect him as a rapper because he's out there making music, getting money, grabbing fans, yada yada yada) because everybody is entitled to their opinion (don't need to voice it, but at least in my head I can think of all the crap I want). But I definitely won't make the distinction between real and fake hip hop ever again. Learnt my lesson, and other rappers need to learn theirs. Thanks for the lesson Sensei VI
The punk rock attitude that has become the majority in the hip hop culture is interesting. Good points. Yes but saying eff you to the past isn't making the future any better. I think your pretty nice on the Mic and look forward to more of your joints.
I actually like your opinion. It sucks how people say hip hop is for certain races or for certain people who grew up in a certain environment. Also your brother's shirt and your shirt is pretty dope. Do you mind posting a link or pic of the shirts?
ok shizzy I totally agree because because for one you express the truth on hip hop I do freestyle in a lot of people don't like my rapping with a lot of people do so I feel that if it's true to that person then people should stop complaining about it and I'm a big fan
I think that every point you made in this video is true, Hip Hop is culture, and Hip Hop is art.
Nice video bro. I freakin' died when you put the logo on his face. XD
But nothin' came out of your mouth but the truth mah brotha.
Jerimiahisaiah oh shit wassap Jeri
Is mayonnaise real hip-hop?
Dominick Vulpis Haha
no Patrick mayonnaise is not real hip hop
No Patrick, Horse Radish is not Hip-hop either.
Yes bro. if you can make a hip-hip or rap song about mayonnaise and relate to someone, then yes, it is real hip-hip all you gotta do is relate to one person and its real. You might be talking stupid shit on the track but if somebody feeling it, then its real hip-hop
i want some cereal now
what in the fuck are you doing here
I've been PREACHIN this shit and finally someone else gets it. People need to learn the differences between rappers. Not every rapper is going to talk about the same lyrically mind blowing shit.
7 years later I still come back to this shit lmao.
6:47
Damn, at least take me out to dinner 1st.
Finally Someone with a logical opinion out there shares it and it makes sense.
So true!!! I love this video and people are still being hard headed fuck heads and fucking ignored the entire video...

Most of the founders also had NO VOCAL TRAINING so they began to create simple rhymes to go along with the sounds.Grafitti artist had NO FORMAL TRAINING,and no real art supplies, so
they began to use CHEAP SPRAY CANS which was all they could afford,to paint murals on brick and concrete walls to represent this growing culture, then you had individuals who wanted to express the culture through dance ALSO WITH NO FORMAL TRAINING,who got CARDBOARD BOXES,and began to BREAKDANCE ON THEM.Thus "hip hop" was created.)
It wasnt untill the the music industry seen the potiential in it and how far it could go, that hip hop began to began to get shaped and molded PROFESSIONALLY to become what it is today.
He as well as others more recently are REJECTED by "hardcore hip hop fans" due to the fact that alot of artist in hip hop today are MULTITALENTED,play instrumentents, and
came from middleclass families and are bringing in things that the ORIGINAL FOUNDERS couldnt do so they are being castrated.

My Dude...Great Work this was much needed. #respect
Oh shoot bro I was posting about your music in defence in my comment, Glad to see you commented as well!
After watching this video, I immediately went listen to Underground. Good video, 100% makes sense. Your right man.
I thought he was rapping at 55 seconds
Wow that was the realest shit I heard all week. You should submit this video to worldstar.
1:44 when u wanna be mad but u cant
I found you this morning after finding Dan Bull last night.. I'm one of those "older 90s" people but must admit I love the sound from you both. Keep up the good work!
My favourite rapper of all time is Immortal technique
dance with the devil is my favorite song.
He is a legend not my fav but hes good asf
I completely agree with this video. I can relate to the video game rap but I really can't relate to any current rap lyrics. I just don't do any of those things or go through any of those hard times. The dope music is what I listen to but I'm so lost on what they're trying to say most of the time when I listen to migos I have to google a lot of these words I swear those niggas make up words and use them in their songs lol. But the lil Wayne piece is true too, I used to really like his music not so much anymore though great video though 👌
That's probably the truest words I've seen someone preach in a while. This was not only called for, but devastatingly needed. Thanks Shizzy, I'm going to share the fuck outta this :)
Pardon my english :(
Its 2018 and we need this more than ever
I've listened to all of your music VI and love it, your music is extremely easy to relate to, especially your Demigod album.
I agree with you on this point though, there's no bounds to hip hop or music in general. Me personally I can't stand "mumble rap" and think I personally its trash, but I don't bash anyone for liking it. We all have our tastes in music. I know I'm mad late on this video but I still appreciate you putting this out here. What you said is facts even if you stated at the start this is purely opinion. Its just a shame that so many people wear rose colored glasses about one thing and trash others for liking another style or genre
Bra upload some videos like this please... I literally could watch you talk about the Hip-Hop industry all day you speak the truth my nigga 300
still got my cereal tho 😂😂😂😂
When I hear people say "real" rap, I don't think they're looking for something relatable or literal. To me "real rap" is something that you would listen to 4 times over just so you can get every little metaphor and understanding that the rapper wants to convey. It's a story, it's a marvel, it's poetry. I get that not everyone wants a deep track, but some of the songs out today are just way too simple. Simplicity is not the way to progress hip-hop.
Justin Baldwin Real and good are two different words and I agree with you.
Ya know you right shizzy you right
Finally someone that is speaking with some logic
Hilarious and true =]
Fuck riolu
Kavon Thorpe woow lmao
***** ayyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee riolu
Well said. it's a state of hip hop today.
If people don't agree that's their opinion.
lol He said "Lyrical miracle, swimming pool shit."
I can't really say hip hop has evolved when we speak of mainstream; I mean it's grown over the years and has spread worldwide, but in the forefront is only one or two versions of the craft that is presented.
left me wordless! man, you nailed what hip hop is. thank you shizzy. can't wait to hear some new tracks
this vid aged well. Nothing but truth being spit in this vid
very well said my man and PLEASE tell me thats the MINDGAME M tatted on your wrist?! i got the spiral head guy logo. that shit is real as fuck!
Yo ***** i have a simple question! where did you buy that earring and where did yo bro get that T-shirt??
Agreed... Specially when you said "Some Shit is real to different people".
Great point. You made a lot of sense man. I'ma start playing this video for people once they start that whole there's no real hip hop nowadays. Glad someone put this out there. Props! Haven't checked your music out but you make sense regardless.
You gotta whole lot of great points in this video I use to talk shit about a lot of rappers but now IM gonna change Tht you are right about all of that
"Supersyllablistic"...Mary be Poppin'!
I loved this dude. Super funny and very INFORMATIVE opinions. A lot of people don't put that in their opinions.
I'm a Lil older and slowly but surely am becoming more of a fan of backpack rap...
got to start with stating i completely agree with all mentioned in this vid
but ive noticed that when it comes to these type of discussions everyone always leaves out the fact that rap / hip hop is "music"
so the musicality of a rapper plays a big part subconsciously to people on different levels
Musicality in flow / delivery etc, and of course beat choice and even the level of musicality within the beat (keeping in mind minimalist selections)
so just for the sake of discussion i'd say ppl always constantly stressing lyricism are more ignorant to the musical aspects and need to stop wasting time and beats and stick to a capellas and slam poetry ..
Everything was on point, Shizzy. You da man
This is some true shit, true story right here. Its up to you to find what and who you like to hear, instead of hating and sticking to old school unless that's your thing (nothing wrong with old school 80's baby 90's kid/teen here)!
art comes in many forms and so does hip hop
More discussion vids Shizzy!! They hella entertaining
I came here lookin' for some jammin' beats right
Anyway I fell in love with your material, a lot of it connects with me as a person and for that you've got my respect and subscription. Keep doin' what you do
"Real hip hop is hip hop someone can relate to" end it right there, that's all the argument you need. I agree with this video 100%
just watched this twice ina row love this video
Hey music has touched my heart many times! Other than that, I definitely agree. I hate mumble rap or whatever but "real hip hop" Idiots get on my nerves like they don't even know half of today's artists who are better than old school IMO
Shizzy I swear you articulate yourself in the best way lol very clear and funny af. Thank you for this *salutes*
-BKPrimal
why dis gotta be a nostalgic video for me its only 4 years old
I ain't gon lie I agree with way u said and this might be your most popular video yet
I agree to the fullest its just stupid how i recommend a dope unheard rapper to someone then they reply hes whack but then they get famous nd all of a sudden they dope
That happaned to me plenty of times when i was a prime time hopsin fan being younger but being older travleing to a new artist such as shizzy hearing a new story within his lyrics gives me the boost to not gaf what others have to say about me or my music cause its good to grow
Still i would like to go into a party or sum shit nd hear a song i like by one of my artist but still whatever music plays im cool with it because all people have different styles of lyrical flow
Its just up to the decisions of the people who listen to choose to stay away learn nd listen or to act out exactly what they hear
It the Yin nd Yang of Music
Real hip hop in my opinion is the use of bold lyricism and truthful lyrics while remaining related and relevant to a message (hidden or obvious) insisted upon in the song. If the lyrics are recited in a catchy poetical Rhythm it always helps.
I'm agreeing with what you're saying, Cuz I thought Future was complete ass until he came out with Benz Friends with Andre. Some stuff works, some doesn't, basically.
He hit some key points but on another note, if there was a picture for everytime I interrupted my brother I'd be a Logo all the time.
Showin love from Tampa, FL!
Oh and on some real shit NOBODY can dislike lil wayne's no ceiling mixtaoe that shit was fire
"cherish it while you can relate or shut the fuck up" best point ever lol
I agree with you VI, if it is real to someone, somewhere no matter the subject matter then it qualifies as real hip hop.
I agree, there are many types of music to choose from.
Your Profile Picture Doe. Who Drew that? Yo but you got a point doe
2021 and shit still facts 😪
The punk rock attitude that has become the majority in the hip hop culture is interesting. Good points. Yes but saying eff you to the past isn't making the future any better. I think your pretty nice on the Mic and look forward to more of your joints.
listening to suicide sixx playlist when a dora commercial comes on.....
I very much liked what you had to say ; what you said holds truth to all music not just Hip Hop. You're also cute and entertaining to listen to.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video!
Shizzy, you're absolutely correct. Good job.
I agree with pretty much everything you said.
Thank you God for bringing these back
Damn Shizzy you're speakin the truth. More power to ya bro.
I cracked up when your brother said BeatD*ckTostitos
God I miss you posting stuff like this! Never fails to make me laugh!
Completely agree with your view on this shiz. Nice discussion. Keep on impressing and bringing the REAL shit!
