I can never get over how good Bernstein comping is
Thanks for the great upload. Post the whole masterclass if you have it.
What a beautiful solo by Jesse.
Peter's guitar is by John Zeidler (deceased) and a builder on par with Benedetto.
Great guitarists. Jesse is one of my favorites of all time. Always so beautiful playing!
Ive never noticed that Berns tend so much to play the 5th as the bass note of the chords, at least in the first chorus.
He plays often CmMaj7/G or EbMaj7/Bb...cool.
Killing !
Thanks Giancarlo. That was fun.
Thanksss for listening!
I keep seeing Bernstein with different amps, but he sounds the same.
Jesse, you're a killer as always.
non se da meno Bravo
Peter got confused at the end. It is as if he wanted to stretch to feel good but the other guy ruined it by tickling him in his ribs playing that dirty C to break the F. He may have thought it was okay to play the C as it is the fifth. He is a good player do not get me wrong, however he needs to humble himself a little. The greats were not as hyper active as he was. That s why they are among the greats. Humility and simplicity. Managing overflowing emotions can be a drag sometimes and can spare some more room for egos to thrust in. Great performance though.
Jessee mannn.....
Sublime! And that Benedetto is drool-worthy.
not a Benedetto...
@@freddymclain4955 Hmm, I see that now.

What guitar is Jesse playing these days?
Jazzer Caster it’s a Westville Aruba if I’m not mistaken, which is build by the Japanese luthier Masaki Nishimura
Do you like it?
@@davidseriff711 Yes I do! I recently ordered a Westville Solar (14 4/5 inch hollow body). Superb instruments and Masaki is a really helpful and knowledgeable person!
@@JuulUitCastricum that's cool. It's going to be a fantastic guitar. I am trying to decide between two guitars. A Gibson 175 with Charlie Christian pickups, it sounds kind of like Jesse's Westville. I am also a big fan of martijn von iterson and I found an old Gibson 125 like the one he plays. It's a more mellow even tone with the p90s. The Charlie Christian pickups are brighter and more responsive. Tough decision. What do you think?
David Seriff I own a ES 125 as well and I can tell you at least that I really like that one. P90 pick up’s do have a really great response as well, but is indeed a little less brighter. It’s a matter of taste ofcourse. Personally the charlie christian pick ups are a bit too bright for me. Also be aware that, at least for my experience with vintage instruments, it can be though to deal with while travelling. they’re often more fragile and less resistant to different weather circumstances. Those things could perhaps bother you while performing (or not, depends on the person I guess).

bernstein is like the new jim hall
except WAY more soulful..
lol Jesse stops comping at 2:25 ...
Why lol? It's quite normal thing to do
@@vecernicek2 well, nothing agressive in my comment ! a lot is happening in the music at that moment. Jesse stops comping behind peter's solo because the other guitar player is making the music busy . Peter does exactly the same thing in jesse's solo. He tries to take turn on comping, but the other guy instantly gets in too, so peter just give up. That's what I hear at least :)
Clément Trimouille exactly. The other guy doesnt have that much sensibility. His lines are the same. Doesnt give importance to the notes, hes happy to play whatever bullshit based on scales and no ear.
Clément Trimouille lol at the end peter does that thing of playing a root with the right hand, an F to give that F7 sound at the end, and the guy sees peter did that, visually, and goes to play a C, ruining that decision and going back to the obvious tonic. Extreme facepalm. He’s clueless.
@@076657 this is so funny, I didn't watch till the end !!! Giancarlo Del Vitto, please Humble yourself and Go transcribe for 10 years!!!!
