My school's drama club gets so many people that we have two casts, and alternate between shows (For example, when Simba 1 is playing Simba, Simba 2 is ensemble, vice versa and with other characters as well), and while young and old simba already have two, I'm the only Mufasa announced. Fun to have 4 people come up to you at different times and say "Hi dad."
One of the young Simbas (We're friends) from across the room, yelled "DADDY" and jumped into my arms.
One of the older Simbas just kinda came up to me and was like "You're my dad," in a somewhat seductive tone? and like halfway wrapped his arm around me and got a little too close for comfort. Then he backed off and was like "Well, my dead dad."

I'm playing a hippo, and I'm in a wheelchair. The cool thing about it is that I get to chase around Zazu in I can't wait to be king, and in hakuna matata I get to roll Infront of the rest of everyone else. I'm so excited

I'm Nala!! Can't wait to perform Shadowlands, although I feel like I won't do well. It's a bit too high.
But Your dad just calls me Katyaaa Hey! I got it too! My music teacher says when you hit the high notes use your nose a little bit. It helps to scrunch up your nose and sing a bit through your nostrils when hitting the really high notes. Good luck!

Lol so we did this show for our school play back in August last year. I was Mufasa. Anyhow, theres this convention called Junior Theatre Festival (JTF) hosts my MTI (Music Theater International) Playbill, and Disney, and they select the best 125 schools internationally to preform for the competition. The top 9 school in the convention gets to preform on the big stage, one of their songs from their show, but the only rules are you can't use costumes, or props. My school, USN, was on the stage, and we won the Outstanding Performance Award (something only the top 3 schools get), Here we are: ua-cam.com/video/OMf9N8helug/v-deo.html

I'm so excited!! At my school we are doing Lion King Jr. And I got Rafiki!! We've only done one reheraal and it was a quick read through of the script so everyone gets to know how it will work. When you think about it however, Rafiki is such a powerful character to the Musical. She didn't say much but her impact is so strong. Like when she gets Simba to return back to the pridelands and sings " He lives in you". I love how it comes full circle to Mufasa. I love how in the first half, when Mufasa sings " They live in you" he is talking about all the great mighty kings above who watch over them from above and how they are all in him. In the second bit, Rafiki sings " He lives in you" meaning Mufasa lives in you even though you may not see him or feel him, he is still a part of you no matter what you do or who you become. This is why I love the lion king. It doesn t focus on one or two characters like in Beauty and the Beast, no. It's whole point revolves around the circle of life and I'm just so glad I get the opportunity to be the first character intorduced into the show.
My favorite line:
" ah yes. The past can hurt, but what I can see is you can either, run from it, or you can learn from it."
" He lives in you, he lives in me, he watches over, everything we see!"
You and I have exact thoughts on this wise and impactful character. Once you get immersed in the life of Rafiki, you don't come out the same. It's an amazing experience to have!

i was a lioness/wildebeest two year ago and it turned out great. the wildebeest scene was also great because we had these huge signs and horns and stuff

so in my production of the lion king Jr, the girl who plays young SImba (yes our young simba is a girl) is the younger sister of the girl who plays Scar ((yes, Scar is a girl in our performance)
so we always joke around how Simba got his looks not from his parents, but from his uncle.
