Supporting her family as a 84-year-old korean woman diver in Jeju | Women's History Month Special

For centuries, women in Jeju, South Korea have made a living off harvesting seafood by hand. These sea women, known as Haenyeo, would free dive close to ten metres underwater, with no more than a weighted vest and goggles, to dig up octopus, abalone and other sea goods. This International Women's Day, we celebrate the strength of these strong women through the lens of Kim Ok Ja.
