👏👏👏👏👏👏
I'm playing the tuba on this piece and boy the cross fingering at measure 130 is so difficult.
1. Popular Spanish dance for couples, with a fast and lively rhythm and similar in character to the march.
What a fine performance of this Jaime Texidor paso doble....great dynamics and a special thanks to the flutes for their fine passages. This brings back fond memories to me. We played this when I was in the band at school. BRAVO from the USA !
Our band played this in 1971-1975. Excellent job! Cudos to the piccolo player and euphonium player.
Simply beautiful! I love Pasodobles. For the life of me, I cannot find the pic soloist! LOL! Now I'm in the mood for Spanish music....I'm going to listen to Jose Carreras sing Granada now.
Thanks Giuseppe Verdi !! Here you can listen us playing the VERY BEST spanish pasodobles, you will really enjoy: ua-cam.com/video/HETQ9242lsY/v-deo.html
The pic soloist, sadly, is just behind the conductor.
Bueno, bueno from the Rocky Mountains, USA
We are playing this in our middle school band, we learned it in less than two weeks and we just won the Sutler Cup.. WE'RE OFFICIALLY THE BEST BAND IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!!!
Ella 133 de
miss spøøkygoner oh well our Honor band learned this in six months and we got 1st place in the UIL competition and we learned the incredible in two weeks and sounded amazing
How awesome! And I am glad that they are teaching that PASODOBLE here in the US. Even though bullfighting is not well seen by most people in here, it is part of the Hispanic tradition and I have to say that I consider myself a REAL AFICIONADO. Greetings from Florida!
At last! A rendition of this tune at THE CORRECT SPEED!
Uno de mis pasodobles favoritos!!! Maravillosamente interpretado
That was nice and smooth.
Gran interpretación! Felicidades desde Bilbao
I am not a fan of wind bands, being a brass bandsman, but it's really nice to hear Amparito Roca played at the right speed, and as a dance rather than a quick march. You can hear the romantic trio etc. properly. Well done.
FELICIDADES A ESTA MAGNIFICA BANDA, UN SALUDO DESDE MALAGA
How comes it that all those who comment that this is too slow, don't know anything? The tempo is perfect. The flute obbligato is correct and balanced. The euphonium counter melody is executed brilliantly...what a performance by a young group. Obviously, this conductor is an excellent conductor and a gifted teacher. Thank you so much for playing this wonderful composition.
Felicitats!
This song sounds so much better at slower tempo.
Hermoso, excelente interpretación ... felicitaciones !!!
we are playing this in concert band! it's really beautiful music! I play clarinet. I love alto's saxes' solo!
Fantastic performance of Amparito Roca ... played at the CORRECT speed, for a pasodoble ... nearly every other groups rendition of "AR" on You Tube is incorrectly performed at twice (or more) this speed, AND, all but one or two renditions drown out the beautiful piccolo solo from 1:17 to 1:54 .
The woodwinds & brass were first class, and I might also add, so were the percussionists who played their various parts perfectly and in balance with the rest of the band. Overall grade (from me) ... 9.5 / 10 ... take a well deserved bow, everybody.
Dave M Well, actually you're wrong. Read the score for the song. It's supposed to be played at 132 beats per minute (and up to 160 beats per minute), and it says "vivace" in the beginning of the song which stands for a faster tempo. We can all have opinions on how we like it better or worse at a faster/slower tempo, but don't confuse opinion and fact my friend. This spanish march in particular is meant to be played nice and speedy.
This is a Spanish band playing Spanish music. I assume they know what they're doing with the tempo. Lovely performance, all parts clear and nice dynamics. Good piccolo playing.
What you said is correct. Thank you for appreciate our work.
catalan song*
+Alexei Kafe *music
+Sgt Rayito a no pues jaume teixidor era catalan;) si k era calalan song xd
They played this really well, so musical... Articulation so and dynamics, style are all excellent. I like it a little faster for my taste, but this is a wonderful rendition.
a fun passtime for me is to sit there with the music and watch the other tenor saxes mess up boosts my confidence
BELLO...BELLO....BELLO
viva la musica de banda
Perfect tempo for this paso doble..........I can enjoy listening to ALL the parts, which is not possible when it's played at breakneck speed. I much prefer this to a director taking it at prestissimo, or vivace.
asi es España
But overall awesome song. Good articulations and dynamics!!
Playing this in band as a freshman in high school and we are playing it much faster. When the performance first started I thought to myself, "oh gosh this is so darn slow" but I ended up enjoying the performance quite a lot. Beautiful sounds from this band. Enough that I can completely overlook the decision on the tempo, but to be honest, tempo is a subjective matter.
You can play this on the slow side, but don't think it was meant to be that slow. Then again this is for the director to decide.
@SpeedyNeutrino43 is exactly right.
I don't mind the slow tempo, but if you didn't have any other fast music pieces then taking it fast would probably be a good idea
+Jacob Millis Each pasodoble requires its own tempo. Pasodobles are not equal among them... Regards from Córdoba Argentina. I'm Amelia.
I love how the conductor uses a cart as a podium!!😂😂
Stretch925 it's not a cart that handle is in case he goes too far back
Stretch925 it's not a cart it's just a handle
slow AF
Way too slow.
painful to listen to. its too slow to start with and then when you get past the trio IT GETS SLOWER!!!
Its for a pasedoble not a march
Horrible piccolo solo articulations are slurred not short and way too slow
If you'll listen carefully, you'll see that the flutes ARE playing their solo staccato, only slurred when indicated by the composer.
I disagree. I thought she performed her solo very well. Keeping her age in mind, I was quite impressed!
too slow
payaso
Good god where's the tempo???? Its supposed to be played at at least 132 beats per minute. If you want to say I'm wrong, do your research and read the score before you even say anything.
