Great fabrication skills there Jeff! Love seeing the ship, amazing. I know we only see a small sample of your life onboard and I'm sure it's boring at times for you. It's great that you take the tine to share. For me personally, I love every minute of your vlogs.
Thank you for another great video. Always beautiful videos of the sea and sun. Thanks for taking us around with you as you go about your rounds. Always look forward to the next video.
Great video as always Jeff! Thank you for sharing. I’m so fascinated with the work projects, keep them coming! And your camera work is top notch. Have a great day!
Great job on the fabrication of the brackets Jeff, I tried welding years ago when I was an apprentice and I was absolutely hopeless so I ended up on the centre lathe which I found easier 😂😂😂. Surprised to hear you drank tea Jeff, thought Americans only drank coffee? Nice video Jeff, keep them coming. Best wishes from Liverpool, England 🇬🇧🇺🇸🍺👍
Yes I think coffee is more popular but I grew up drinking tea and my father was from an English family. All we had in our house was British style black tea.
I never get tried of seeing your vlogs. Thanks for sharing your travels with us. Do you ever encounter an odd ball job/task on a ship where you don't have the right tools available, or is it one of those things where you're just good at what you do and always figure it out one way or another?
Nice vid as usual Jeff, loving the shots of the beautiful sky’s you see out at sea! I’m away on my first ship in February so it’s getting close! What type of ship are you on at the moment - is it a tanker of some kind?
@@JeffOnboard Yeah I seen your post - that’s sucks! Get well soon my brother and take it easy - get the feet up for a while and I’ll be looking out for the next upload!
Nerdy question for you. How often do they use imperial or metric on the ships? Both for the hardware sizes and when you are measuring for projects? And what do you do when you're in the metric part of the world but you need an imperial sized part that's not in stock on the ship? The fab job you had to do made me wonder about this.
The ship's eye always worked on are always metric. That's what I'm used to. And ships get parts from all different places so that would never be a problem.
Yes I still pay the normal federal taxes like I always would. I think there is something in some states where you can pay less taxes If you are out of the country So Many months or something like that but I don't know the details.

It happens all the time we have to get something done and do not have the right thing to do it. You have to be very creative or fabricate something.
Thanks Jeff,
It was nice in Durban...I enjoyed it. Soon I go back to Europe

I was on a autoliner, but home now...In Brasil...with Covid, 🥲

Beautiful video Jeff. Thanks for posting it.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks Jeff great video as usual. Is your job very different when on car carriers as opposed to container ships? Do you have a preference?
Basically the same, but I like container ships most.

How often do you guys find something broken in the Sunday checks?
For me I normally find things in good order but sometimes thinks just need to be adjusted a little.
papa johns or dominos?
Neirher, lol
Jeff, you prefer this to a Europe trip ?
Not really because there were only a couple places we actually got to get off and going to Europe is not such a hot sauna as well.
odd question, but if you're working in foreign waters and international waters, are your wages still taxed stateside? wonder how that all works
Yes I still pay the normal federal taxes like I always would. I think there is something in some states where you can pay less taxes If you are out of the country So Many months or something like that but I don't know the details.
How can i also work there on board?
Watch my video about how to become a merchant mariner....you need all documents I mention and be in USA to get jobs
