Unfortunately, this is the only way for someone who has access to GitHub Copilot to take advantage of their subscription within the Positron IDE at the moment due to licensing issues, c.f. github.com/posit-dev/positron/issues/476 The Posit team are aware of the limitation and are planning for improvements around the first release candidate.
