Honored to hear that my video inspired you to check out the Dispatch Master. It's just a perfect pedal to me, and I'm glad that you're enjoying it just as much

I like how you had the stones to declare something your favorite. I get tired of reviewers giving us 'these are my 27 favorite pedals.' Yes, more than one pedal is great, but I HATE when asked about a favorite and folks can't give a prioritized #1. Thanks for delivering. That was a great review, and great play.
Well, giving a prioritised 1 is very difficult. Context has a lot to say in that matter. But yes, it's easy for me to declare my all-time favorite, since that pedal has had such a big impact on my life. But if you were to ask me about my favorite fuzz, drive, modulation pedal etc, then my answers would be vague as well, since I use different ones depending on my musical context 😊
The creator of this pedal has managed to capture the way emotions echo in our minds as we repeatedly mull over feelings to try and get to their source or we relive the moment trying not to let it fade . The reverb has that pseudo nostalgic quality like an empty beach sunset at the end of summer. A work of art.
I loved the passion you put into this video - the playing, the talking, even the product itself. Damn, what you said in the end just made me close all the other tabs I had opened about other pedals, comparisons, demos, etc... I'm buying the Dispatch Master.
I must have watched this video at least 6 times. I just purchased my Dispatch Master (also my first EQD) this morning. I have 4-5 other delays so I never really thought to get this, but I was so compelled from all the wonderful loving demos/tributes to this circuit I felt it’s time for me to splash the cash too. (Not much compared to how much I have paid for other Delays).
Having seen a few of your videos, I want to acknowledge that you are a very talented & accomplished artist of the guitar. Your gear demos are cutting edge. Love your playing man!
Yamaha magicstomp has been my favorite pedal for 20 years: my board is built around four of them. The modulations and multi-tap delays are still better to my ears than anything that’s come out since. I also love the dispatch master.
Hey Stefan, my first modern ambient pedal was the Dispatch Master as well. It really is an amazing machine and you're so right, there is not a bad setting. It never gets in the way, I think that is a big part of the DM's magic. It's this huge sounding reverb and delay pedal....... but it doesn't dominate the blend, in a way...it's transparent, love the momentary switch. Great idea!
I just ordered the Dispatch Master several minutes ago and I can’t wait to play it. I own the Big Sky and the Timeline also along with several other great reverb pedals but none of them are able to give me the simplicity and ear of use with stellar tone that I see this pedal is able to produce. This is the reverb/delay I’ve been looking for since I was a kid. This reminds me of whenever I played an amp that has built in delay and reverb. They never got in the way and were so easy to use but they fell short in the quality of tone and versatility. Thanks for the amazing video. Your passion and interesting choices definitely sets your channel apart from others.
The passage starting at 3:37 reminds me so much of one of my favorite bands, Maserati. Could listen to this all. day. long. Excellent review, even better playing :)
I play with my friends and they think I have jumped in the learning curve, truth is no matter what I play through this pedal it improves the sound and makes you sound so much better. It is the first pedal I have owned that does not have a bad sound in it.
I saved my money for a while for this pedal. But when the time came I ended up clicking the buy button on the Afterneath. I don’t regret it because to this day there is nothing like it that I’ve heard. But I find myself still thinking about picking one of these up. Keep up the awesome work Stefan. I love your musical style.
Hmmmm yes I almost got an Aftermath but realized that it was too much pedal for me I never use reverb so this was perfect for me I think as a second delay pedal with reverb as needed cause just now dipping my toe into reverb tones
The commentary you give is SPOT ON PERFECTION! I’m not biased to this channel, as it is my first time watching your channel. The Dispatch Master is though “That Pedal”. It has every variance covered but still not overkill!
Awesomeness is never too late. It's always right on time 😊 You're gonna love the Dispatch Master. Not a single bad sound in this thing, and always delivers the right amount of ambience. Really happy you enjoyed my demo. This pedal is really important to me, so I'm glad you found the sounds inspiring and helpful.
Just ordered me one this week. I'm maybe a dinosaur. Tube amp and guitar for years. So, now I'm plunging into pedals and digging it. I just love the way DM fits so naturally in the demo. Thanks so much.
Hey Stefan, your review was so awesome and captivating! You couldn't hold back your passion, love and gratitude for this pedal even if you tried. It simply oozes out of your every word as you adore this little "humble" device. I think you even started to tear up a bit... haha I'm glad I stayed to watch the entire video. That's something I seldom do! Based on your recommendation and demo, I've placed my order for one!!! I hope to find more music in my than I ever imagined with this little box. Thanks again.
:) The Dispatch Master I got in 2014 was my first boutique pedal as well, and ever since then I've been hooked on EQD stuff, their reverb&delay offerings and pedals in general. Great demo as always!
Love your 'go to ' sound! The shimmering ambiense is really a sound you listen to all the time. What a great pedal! Another great tutorial of tone mastery. As always from a fan, thanks!
Happy to hear that! You need to hear it in real life. It’s super beefy and atmospheric. Pretty cool feature that the repeats knob becomes a reverb tone/density controller when you minimize the delay 😊👍
@@thepedalzone That's a difficult one! For a long time it was the Alesis guitarFX digital multieffect, which was terrible at what it was supposed to do, but you could use its flaws as advantages once you started thinking out of the box. But it died recently. I use the Hall of Fame and Flashback most right now on my synths, but it's more of a necessity than a favourite. I guess I can't afford what would be my favourite pedal. I got a lovely tape delay, but it's definitely not pedal-size and also it's not working most of the time
Avalanche Run with the reverse mode on might be my favorite sounds of all time. I hated it at first until one day I did it on accident with the tone knob all the way to the left. Now I use it all the time.
Great video as always Stefan, definitely one of my all-time favorites for sure! I love the idea of going back to revisit classic pedals to highlight interesting settings. We're always so fixated on the new stuff (myself included), but it's great to also celebrate and use what we have.
Oh yeah, I 100% agree. Always seek to learn the ins and outs of your gear as well as the back of your own hand. That's also why I love the Dispatch Master so much. I know exactly what happens when I turn a knob, and I know exactly how to tweak it to get what I want. It makes it easier to realise the sounds I hear in my head. Happy you enjoyed the video ❤
This video inspired me to buy this and….. well you are dead right not a bad sound on that pedal. Beautiful in all applications. I’m moving to a full midi set up and have sold all my non midi pedals except this. Can’t do it. It’s far too beautiful. Can perhaps get close with other delay and reverb pedals I have but not quite the same
Honestly, the thing I like the most about it is the fact that it's got a ton of flexibility, in such a small package. 4 knobs, barely any pedalboard space, yet it's all the ambience you need in many cases. It's great for traveling musicians who want to pack a soundscape in their back pocket. Yes, its features are a perfect subset of those of the Avalanche Run, but the AR is kind of "too much pedal" for a lot of people. It's more expensive, and has a lot of features that many people don't need. But the dispatch master is elegant in its simplicity. And you can get a used one without breaking the bank.
I found you channel moths ago, looking for an Avalanche Run v2 review and then I found myself browsing through your videos often so I just had to subscribe. Love your humble and honest approach. Not trying to be seen as cool, just simply being you. And that *is* cool. I'm always happy when you upload something. Keep it up! :)
Man! That is definitely some of the nicest words anybody’s ever written here. I hope that a humble THANK YOU will suffice. Super happy to have you here ❤️🙏
I love the honesty and passion in this review. I watched it a couple of times while I was deciding whether or not to buy this pedal. I since have gotten the pedal and have been getting lost in it ever since. It really takes you to places and opens up your imagination. There's nothing like sitting down with this pedal for an hour and just exploring.
Yeah, I'll agree with you on that one. I think it might be mine too. I'm a reverb/delay junkie. It's so easy to use and you can do so much with it. It's almost a perfect pedal. I'm lucky they make them right down the road from me. Your playing sounded great too man.
Been listening to a few other "reverberators" trying to compare. Some are quite good (Digitech's "Polara" for instance), but coming back to your post to read your reply and hearing "Dispatch" fresh on the heels of other listens, it really stands above the others in musicality _and_ organic sounding harmonics. I guess less _is_ really more lol. Thanks so much for your prompt reply!
Organic is 100% the best word to describe Dispatch Master. The way that the reverb and delay work together is just special, and the range of the controls are so perfectly tuned. You will never find a bad sound in this pedal
Whoa. You expressed my EXACT feelings about this pedal! I gave mine away to a friend years ago because it was clipping when my input was hot. Spent time with Neunaber and Fathom, they all clip or make extra white noise when hit too hard up front (and I didn’t like the verb pedals early in the chain as a workaround). So I’ve changed my “sound,” reigning in my gain pedals, and I just repurchased the dispatch master. Hoping my first girlfriend still has that magic! Thanks for your video!
Awesome demo Stefan, this pedal it's incredible so versatile. I think the Walrus Fathom it's my desert island pedal, a lot of reverb modes to create lush atmospheric modulations.. it's my unique sound to play with a telecaster surrounded by oceans
I absolutely love this channel. I watched your Avalanche Run video and I was sure that's the one I was gonna get, as I want to play some nice post-rock / ambient stuff. But now I'm honestly not sure, since the Dispatch Master seems to be able to do much of the same, and it's cheaper! Keep up the amazing work, my Danish neighbor. Love, from Norway!
Thank you so much for the kindness, my Scandinavian brother. Means a lot to me ❤ Avalanche Run will definitely give you more versatility and more sounds. So it all comes down to if you prefer simplicity or features. Both are stunning pedals, and you absolutely can't go wrong with either.
I am finally getting one of these. I'm just waiting until I have some extra dough so I can get another Strymon Zuma for a different set-up. It is going to be fun running this with the Avalanche Run (in addition to the other pedals on my Ambient board).
As always, you show off the beautify within the pedals, BUT man I love what you play. Probably gonna spend my Saturday watching this and trying to do what you do and see where I can go from there. Inspiring stuff
Oh, man! That’s a great place to start your EQD journey as well. Such a great pedal. Honored that I somehow had something to do with you picking it up 🙏
i mean you're definitely my favourite pedal reviewer but damn dude you're really climbing the list for "favourite guitarist" like can you maybe save some riffs for the rest of us?
Ohh man.. I am so tempted o get this pedal. I was watching the video on the Avalanche Run and I have one too at home. I guess I need to get an Expression Pedal ASAP. Thank you so much for all your videos. It has opened up my musical horizons even more. Thank for your introducing Ann Annie too... Damn.. The music is way way way awesome =)
Five years ago this was a incredible pedal, and still it is. But probably if EQD gives you more options for types of delay and reverb it will be really interesting.
It was a very unique offering when it was first released. Not many Reverb/Delay pedals existed back then. Now it's a much more common combo effect. But Dispatch Master definitely still stands out to me. It just has a gorgeous voicing and the controls are so perfectly tuned, so no matter how you set them, you'll get an amazing sound. But I definitely wouldn't complain if Jamie and his team decided to make a new version with stereo and multiple delay and reverb algorithms.
Fantastic channel and videos - would love to see you do a video stacking two EQD dispatch masters. Debating wheterh to go 2x the DM or an afterneath and DM
Thank you so much! Means a lot to me. Even though the DM is incredible, I personally always prefer contrasting devices than two of the same. So I would go Afterneath + DM. Just opens up a much wider range of sounds. But that's just one man's opinion. Doesn't mean it's the right decision for you, your playing style and musical context. Hope you find out what's right for you :)
@@thepedalzone Thanks Stefan - I ended up with a Levitation reverb - using that at the front of chain as a “shoegazer” with my DM at the end as a dual reverb and delay to wash it out.
I got and love the Space Spiral primarily because of your demo. Just got a deal on the dispatch master v2 and it’s awesome! Even better is running them together! Inspiring! I’ve also never really messed with run away oscillation before. I’m making some seriously spacey sounds spinning the knobs! I would love to see you do a quick play through with those two!
Finally a dispatch master review by The Pedal Zone!!! I’ve been waiting for this one. I bought a V2 few months back because of Stefan’s frequent praise of the pedal. Great vid, can’t wait to try these settings. And this week I’ve been really into Get Nice! by Spoon
The V1 was my first EQD pedal and I've went on to own about 15 from them. It's mostly been sitting on a shelf for the past couple years but I think it's time to break it out for old time's sake.
My biggest eureka moment was when I had taken the DM off the board for a while. It was just sitting on the shelf. Then one day I took it down from the shelf, just to stroll down memory lane, and the second I plugged in, I instantly regretted ever taking it off the board. It just instantly felt and sounded like home. This pedal is perfect for me. Sure you will rediscover your love for it as well, the second you put it back on your board 😊👍
My favorite stacking combination is the Dispatch Master (Mix @ 1, Time @ 10, Reverb @12, Repeats @1) going into a Ghost Echo (Attack @ 12, Dwell - Off, Depth @ between 10 and 11) .
ThePedalZone With all the crazy stuff available now it seems more difficult to be impressed. The Dispatch Master is so simple but I was just stunned the first time I played it. I’ve played a lot of great pedals since but hardly any have felt that transformative.
Nice work Stefan! I had often wondered why anyone would prefer the DM to an AvRun... I get it now. Your reasoning reminds me why my fave pedal is my fave pedal... the Ibanez DE7. Delay is my fave effect, and the DE7 has its own mojo which I haven't found anywhere else and its three knobs can do so much. It combines beautifully with my latest fave, the Shallow Water especially when run after the DE7 for the nicest modulated delay sound. Of course, my desert island pedal is still my Avalanche Run, as if I could only have a single pedal that would be the only one to cover everything. Okay that's three, I cheated. Love your work Stefan, I always find information and inspiration from your vids :-)
Lord help me. This video made me smile with them TOANS. 😍😍 I really want a Reverb/ delay pedal that has a momentary “chaos” switch that’s musical. I may have found it. Thanks, Stefan. Love your videos and approach!
Damn, coming back to this over 3 years later to say this too has been my favorite pedal and an always on reverb that’s all thanks to this vid!
Honored to hear that my video inspired you to check out the Dispatch Master. It's just a perfect pedal to me, and I'm glad that you're enjoying it just as much
Another great Pedal Zone clip. Yes, Ann Annie is wonderful but your music bites are also tasteful in it's own right.

@@thepedalzone Very cool, thanks again!
You are my desert island UA-cam musician 🙏
Oh my! Thank you so much! I'm sure we'll have a blast on that damn island 😊
@@thepedalzone You bet! :)
What a perfect demo. Fantastic sounds and playing!
Quality review, subscribing 👌
Thank you for the kind comment and the sub. Means the world to me!
Awesome demo Stefan, this pedal it's incredible so versatile. I think the Walrus Fathom it's my desert island pedal, a lot of reverb modes to create lush atmospheric modulations.. it's my unique sound to play with a telecaster surrounded by oceans
Happy you enjoyed the video, man. Means a lot! Fathom is a nice desert island pedal as well. Definitely contains some vast atmospheres 👍
The best is having both. More Reverb is more better.
Holy crap dude, this pedal is sick. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve been wanting one of these for years now.
Go for it! You won’t regret it. There’s simply not a bad sound in it 👌
My first EQD pedal was the avalanche run 🏔️❄️💕 thanks to you homie. Vibe on⛩️
Awwwww, dude!!! Thank you ❤ I promise there'll be plenty of riffs left for you. I suck at riffs. I just noodle 😂
"save some riffs for the rest of us!" rofl
That's the video I needed! I was looking for some new settings to play around with.
Happy to be able to deliver some new inspiration and ideas ❤
So much love for this! Cheers mate
Really happy to hear that. Thank you 😊
Five years ago this was a incredible pedal, and still it is.
Just downloaded the Ann Annie album!! Want wait to dive into it
Fantastic channel and videos - would love to see you do a video stacking two EQD dispatch masters.
Space Spiral and Dispatch Master are great together. Honored that my demo inspired you to pick up a Space Spiral 😊
Just bought one of these pedals absolutely love it.have a gig Sunday going to throw it on all my wet sounds
Happy to hear you dig it. Just a perfect ambience device.
Ok I died at 3:35 it sounded so gooooooood
Oh wow! Thank you so much ❤
Pairs well with the Big Sky
You can never have too much reverb 😉
I get my Meris Enzo tomorrow and a NUX-drive core deluxe on Friday. 😆
Sweeeet, man! Sounds like you’re in for a fun week. Enzo is a blast 👌
Spoken with passion my friend! Thank you!
I have a ton of passion and love for this pedal. Happy that it translated through the screen ❤
so cool use of dispatch :D
Thank you! Happy you found it inspiring 🙏
@@thepedalzone ...and not with that only :) big fan of your aproach to the music and effects. Chears, and have nice day Stefan! :) #ambient
I agree on all points, for electric violin ...IT'S EVEN BETTER!
Dispatch Master just shines on every instrument out there 😊👌
Finally a dispatch master review by The Pedal Zone!!!
Great video and playing as always. Love your positive and passionate approach to music :-)
My favorite stacking combination is the Dispatch Master (Mix @ 1, Time @ 10, Reverb @12, Repeats @1) going into a Ghost Echo (Attack @ 12, Dwell - Off, Depth @ between 10 and 11) .
That's some deep sea ambience right there!
Love it! I’ve got dispatch master #500 or something and it was also my first EQD, first ambient maker, AND my desert island pedal as well :)
Woohooo! We like the same things ❤
Wonderful demo of an impressive pedal. Really enjoyed the subtleties along with the roars. From a very appreciative subscriber.
Thank you so much for the extremely kind words. Warms my heart ❤
This was my first boutique pedal too.
Woohoo! Dispatch fam ❤
!!!! i just ordered one after watching this video!!!!
EPIC!!! You’re gonna love it 😊👍
Drone Master!
❤️❤️❤️
It's me again. Just Subscribed.
