I think it's not really about his mentality but he's big in China and the big brother of chineses player too. He has many thing to do that take his focus but he has nothing to prove anymore. He's the greatest asian player of all time. Hopefully he'll be world champion someday.

for years now we keep hearing about all these young Chinese players supposedly coming through the rankings but none of them are on Ding's level, even though Ding has not been at his best or winning as much recently he is still in another league to all the other Chinese players that seem to have a good run here and there and then disappear losing in early rounds for the majority of the tournaments.

@@arjunsdigwa an inconsistent player doesn't win 14 major titles. I think you'll agree that he's much more consistent than former world champions Stuart Bingham and Shaun Murphy.

For me,ding,paul hunter,jimmy white and matthew stevens would be in that category of best players to never win the world title.ding has the capability to do it no doubt,and i hope he does,he needs to develop a good B game to do that though - to be able to scrap results and win frames when not playing well.the worlds is all about having a solid B game when A game isnt there,as it is impossible to play well every session in a tournament that long.it showed when ding did get to the final a few years back, started horribly and missed easy balls and started 6-0 down against selby,was always gonna be uphill battle after that

@@Robert2601 yeah true, that the thing with ding, when he's on it he's probs the best breakbuilder ever outside of ronnie, esp around the black spot his touch is just unparalelled, but he doesn't really stand a chance when it goes wrong and he needs a scrappy B-game it just doesn't work for him ever

@@samsamm1402 exactly.you look at ebdon,dott and bingham for example who won the world title by having that solid B game when needed.for me,ding is more talented than all 3 of them in terms of break building and laying on snookers.if he can get that B game to go with that for the longer matches at the worlds,he will be a contender
